“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” designer Eduardo Xol dead after being stabbed to death in home
Shocking news that "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" designer Eduardo Xol, has died following a stabbing in his home. He was 58. Xol was stabbed in Palm Springs on September 10, was listed in stable condition initially, but died September 19 of his injuries. A man is in custody and is being charged with murder.
His friend Richard Pérez-Fería wrote on social media: “When I first learned that Eduardo Xol had passed, I went numb. It was impossible to process that information as it didn’t square with my thousands of experiences with him.”
He went on, “Please don’t ask me how or why at this point…what matters most is who he was: A talented, beautiful, passionate friend, brother, son and partner. The millions of laughs, hopes and secrets we shared remain at the fore of my thoughts. I want to honor my dear friend and celebrate his life as one that mattered to so many. He certainly mattered to me. Sending healing love at this horrific time to his circle of friends and family who loved him so. Sadly, tomorrow isn’t promised. Love each other. Rest in peace, Eduardo.”

Richard Joseph Gonzales, a 34-year-old man from Cathedral City, Calif., has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with Xol's stabbing and subsequent death.
It appears Gonzales put himself on police radar after he called dispatch on the day Xol was discovered by police ... Gonzales claimed to have been the victim of an assault the prior night.
Cops say they determined Gonzales was a suspect in the stabbing after further investigation ... booking RG at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio -- a city not far from Palm Springs.
