It’s a shame Joan always messed with her face. I’m rewatching Knots and just started season 3. She looked normal in seasons 1 and 2 but you can tell in the season 3 premiere she had work done between seasons. She looked prettier before.

Joan was beautiful, but also an accomplished, theatre-trained insightful actress. Adept equally at comedy and drama. She could easily have aged into a compelling character actress and never stopped working, just like her former costar Julie Harris.
