Your wishlist for Harris Administration appointees
My list, as of today:
AG: Sally Yates, to be replaced by Amy Klobuchar with the next SCOTUS opening/expulsion/expansion.
Treasury or FED: Austan Goolsby
Commerce: Jay Coen Gilbert
Chief of Staff: Mitch Landrieu
Senior Advisor to the President: Cedric Richmond
Agriculture Secretary: Dr. Gail Myers
I'd keep my girl Jennifer Granholm at Energy, or find a higher profile spot for her, because she's awesome and should be President if she'd born here.
Surgeon-General: Clyde Yancy, M.D.
That's what I have, so far.
Yours?

Biden's probably making everyone Senior Advisor to the President. It's just a meaningless job title they can put on their resumes if they aren't kept on by Harris.

R18 There's probably a good chance of this, if Karine and Kamala have a good relationship. Karine was Kamala's VP press secretary before Jen Psaki left the White House. Then she was promoted to WH press secretary.

Federally-subsidized development of massive amounts of safe, tasteful lower middle class housing. Heavy support for and celebration of Social Security. Also the money she’s promising for home care funded by Medicare. Also confiscating all firearms. More weed.

I hope she'll keep Lina Khan as FTC Commissioner, but Kamala's so centrist that I see her caving to big business and firing her. I'm not the biggest Biden fan, but one of the best decisions he made was appointing an absolute lioness as FTC Chair. She's a true advocate for the consumer and not afraid to take on Wall St and Big Tech.

How's that?! Jeffries is the Minority Leader on the basis of his caucus's vote. If his party flips the House, his caucus - not Harris - will select him as the Speaker.

R27 Since Kamala has made cost of living and price gouging a big part of her domestic policy, keeping Lina Khan seems crucial. Khan is already suing to block the Kroger-Albertsons merger. If that merger were to go through, whether by Kamala appointing a corporate-friendly agency head or Trump appointing a thoroughly corrupt goon, we already know what will happen. The combined Kroger-Albertsons would take the food industry further into oligopoly market power, raising grocery prices even higher while the C-suite blames "inflation."

OP I like the idea of Mitch Landrieu as CoS, but I wanted Pete Buttigieg for that. I do want Mitch to remain. I'd choose Doug Jones for Attorney General. Klobuchar is going to be Senate Majority leader once we take the Senate and Schumer goes home. Mayorkas and Granholm can stay in place so can the woman running Interior. The National Security Team needs to remain for stability, but honestly, they need to toughen up about Bebe.

Or, as my beloved late friend would say, "That horse has sailed."
I told my sister if my list, and she said Pete should be head of VA, with Paul Rieckhoff as his #2. Pete would handle the high-profile, forward-facing duties, while Rieckhoff would work in the trenches. Both could take on and modernize the VA's unwieldy bureaurocracy (you can't even fill out forms online for many tasks!), because their online system is godawful, Pleistocene-era tech.
I could be happy with that scenario, too.

Harris said she'd put a Republican in her cabinet. So I'm betting Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger will be on that list. Problem is that Cheney is a die hard ideological conservative and she will not be cooperative. I can see her serving for about a year than holding a news conference to resign....

Years ago Robert Reich (sp?) became cabinet secretary for Labor under Clinton. He wrote a book saying basically it was a figurehead position and he couldn’t do anything and the permanent staff did all the real work. The noteworthy thing was he ate in the employee dining room vs the private one. That’s what I remember anyway, I read it a long time ago.

Mother Buttigieg can feed the dogs and watch those brats, I can express milk and have the State Department ship it back!

Liz Cheney for AG to prosecute Trump's Republicans in Congress?

Don't you worry about Liz. Her Daddy and Lizzie are already picking out the right spot and I guarantee you it will be Defense Department related. She and Harris have too many philosophical differences to put her in as AG or anywhere near judgeship. Personally I would make her an ambassador to the court of St James. A plush, cushy job in the UK. Keep her out of trouble. Romney is in his 80's. If She's smart she will use the professional State Department people, the top ones, including Blinken if he wants to stay. This would be a bad time to fuck with state and they're pretty sensitive about politicians getting appointed to diplomatic jobs like SoS. Hillary at least had standing internationally. I think the people at state are handicapped by Joe's policies. I think Kamala will kick Netanyahu's ass. LOL! I'd put Adam Kinzinger in charge of FEMA.

I have a lot of contacts in the NC political world and hear a lot of rumors. Roy Cooper is definitely being offered a cabinet position.
The word on the street is that he’d like AG but the party wants him to run for US Senate in two years. The Harris team don’t want an AG that might only serve two years so they want him to take Commerce since he’s done such a good job recruiting international manufacturing investment to NC during his two terms.
The big question is what Roy wants. He has always said he’s not interested in serving in Congress, so he might hold out for AG. The law is his real passion and he and Kamala became close when they were working together in the state Democratic AG group.

If it's a close Senate, there will be a few Republicans who vote to confirm her nominees. Unless she tries to appoint AOC or someone like that. I'm not worried about the Cabinet. Judges, on the other hand, will not be confirmed.
