Trump fan gets eight years for assaulting officers during Jan. 6 Capitol breach

Kentucky trash.

[quote]A Donald Trump supporter who assaulted law enforcement at the Capitol on Jan. 6, including a Capitol Police officer who he helped knock unconscious when her head slammed against a metal railing, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison on Thursday.

[quote]Three of Randolph's co-defendants — men who helped set off the initial breach of the Capitol perimeter — were also sentenced on Thursday: James Tate Grant to three years; Jason Benjamin Blythe to 30 months; and Paul Russell Johnson to five years of probation with intermittent confinement on weekends for the first year along with two additional years of home detention. Another co-defendant named Ryan Samsel — who was holding a giant flag portraying Trump as "Rambo" before he assaulted officers on Jan. 6 — will be sentenced on Feb. 4, 2025.

Eight years of his life and it will go on his record, permanently.

What a dumb piece of shit.

[quote]He was identified by a facial recognition hit on his girlfriend’s Instagram page.

Momma's mussy is too patriotic to even contemplate a J6er, so don't even start with that shit.

Hahahaha. Not only did he assault an officer, but a woman as well. Indefensible—except to the Magats.

by Anonymousreply 3September 22, 2024 12:50 PM

US jail sentencing seems so random. 8 years for what is probably a first offence seems nuts.

by Anonymousreply 4September 22, 2024 1:07 PM

They should all get eight years at the very least.

by Anonymousreply 5September 22, 2024 1:14 PM

He knocked out a police officer, you don't get a lenient sentence for that anywhere, first offence or not.

Spot on R6 AND he was taking part in a violent insurrection in the hopes of preventing the certification of the American people's votes. 8 years seems just right.

Waiting for Trump's comment on this 'patriot' who assaulted a woman police officer so badly she was lucky to escape brain damage. Keep in mind Trump was watching all such activity on TV for hours with satisfaction.

I hope in his debate Walz references the disgusting list of criminal 'patriotism' as listed in the NBC report above. Other leading Democrats also should not neglect this grotesque event, and how it is still rightly in play as a matter of justice - and shame upon its inciters-in-chief.

by Anonymousreply 8September 22, 2024 1:23 PM

They are traitors to USA and should be shot.

by Anonymousreply 9September 22, 2024 1:25 PM

Funny you should post that R8 because I was just looking at this tweet.

We all know he calls them patriots who are hostages and has vowed to pardon the whole lot of them if he wins in November. He should be in fucking jail himself for inciting the insurrection. Screw all the other pathetic charges and outstanding court cases - this was the one which should have been tried and Trump sentenced to jail.

It’s crucial that they be punished hard so they don’t try it again. This is a case where the deterrent purpose of criminal punishment is paramount.

by Anonymousreply 11September 22, 2024 1:29 PM

Fuck around and find outl

This. And the problem is that 8 years isn't nearly enough for this douche, nor any of the other co-conspirators... home detention? Intermittent weekend confinement? "Yeah, that'll stop 'em from fomenting, planning and executing another coup," said no one, ever.

It is hard to fathom why so many judges have let so many of these goons off with barely a slap on the wrist. Even the so-called "Shaman" is already out on parole! There is not a single one of them that should see sunlight without bars for at least 25 years. Most should be locked up for life.

In less civilized countries around the world, Shitler and his entire gang of thugs would have been lined up against the nearest brick wall on Jan 6 and shot. Now that's deterrence.

by Anonymousreply 13September 22, 2024 3:21 PM

Can you imagine being rendered unconscious with a head injury among a pack of wild animals? Makes me shudder.

by Anonymousreply 14September 22, 2024 3:57 PM

Shoulda been Ashli Babbitted on the spot.

by Anonymousreply 15September 22, 2024 4:07 PM

Yay!

by Anonymousreply 16September 22, 2024 4:09 PM

He's a patriot! Free the Jan 6 hostages!

by Anonymousreply 17September 23, 2024 1:14 AM

^ speaking of. Isn't Trump supposed to be hosting a fundraiser for them at Bedminster? Some kind of "Gala." Hah.

by Anonymousreply 18September 23, 2024 9:19 PM

That twisted rotten bastard should serve 25 years.

by Anonymousreply 19September 23, 2024 10:45 PM

Terrorists should be locked up, forever. Eight years isn't long enough.

by Anonymousreply 20September 23, 2024 10:53 PM

Spare me the karma bullshit. That despicable garbage will be 41 when he’s released.

by Anonymousreply 21September 23, 2024 11:05 PM

4 cops committed suicide after this repugnant debacle.
