I'm not sure why you capitalized "Moviemaking", but I agree with you. The timing and the music are perfect. It gives you chills, even after multiple viewings.

The modern era. Grat filmaking.

by Anonymousreply 2September 22, 2024 9:08 AM

You're so vanilla, OP

by Anonymousreply 3September 22, 2024 9:39 AM

WTF r3? Just groove ok?

by Anonymousreply 4September 22, 2024 10:51 AM

Back when George still had IT, before he lost IT.

I saw the movie in '76 and loved it -- it was exhilarating. But I had no interest any of the subsequent films. Corn ball is corn ball.

by Anonymousreply 6September 22, 2024 12:40 PM

Oh, Porkins.

by Anonymousreply 7September 22, 2024 12:57 PM

It was dambusters!

There are always people like r6 who take pride in what they havenโ€™t seen or done, especially if itโ€™s popular. Itโ€™s a good rule of thumb to stay away from these people .

I recall seeing it in a big theater when it came out, and when the death star exploded, the whole audience broke out in a huge round of applause

I was 12 years old and loved it but knew it was shlock, R9. We didn't have the term "man-child" in1976 but I could tell who would be driving the Star Wars craze -- and it's true to this day.

So many buttons and switches in classic sci-fi Amazing that no one in Hollywood imagined touch screens.

by Anonymousreply 12September 22, 2024 1:46 PM

Schlock? You have much to learn about the ways of the Force.

Truly, the Citizen Kane of space opera.

by Anonymousreply 14September 22, 2024 3:05 PM

I love all the time travelers who saw the movie in 1976, when it came out in 1977.

This makes three times now, Mein Fรผhrer.

I bought an old VHS tape of "Star Wars" just to have a copy that hadn't had the explosion messed with. It's the only Star Wars I've seen and I mean to keep it that way.
