Wow, I remember watching this TV movie when it came out. I was in high school. I preferred Sally Field, but thought Karen was OK as Gidget in it. I liked her better in Room 222, though.
I wasn't a fan of Paul Peterson, who always seemed so square. At the time her other romantic interest in this movie, Edward Mulhare, seemed like an old man to me, but now he's the reason I'm gonna be watching this again, for the first time in 53 years. Thanks for the link, OP!
