His political demise will be even worse than the one of Sarah Palin. He'll be a laughing stock for many years to come.

Omg, R7. That made my night.

JD is trying to appeal to the MAGAt masses, most of whom never attended post-secondary institutions. Plenty of them are jealous and resentful of college educated professionals.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 20, 2024 3:03 AM |
Just think… if Trump were to win, this toxic-ass moonfaced MAGA douchebro wanker would likely be our nation’s President before the end of the term!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 20, 2024 3:04 AM |
Pol Pot sent educated people to the killing fields in Cambodia.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 20, 2024 3:05 AM |
Vance will never have a cult following as does Trump. MAGA love of Trump has much to do with personality. Vance has the personality of an empty wet paper bag.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 20, 2024 3:12 AM |
He is extremely creepy and off-putting. He can't even laugh or order a donut like a normal person. I didn't think it was possible for a politician to have less charisma than DeSantis, but here we are.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 20, 2024 3:22 AM |

Haven't you been paying attention? Republicans have been wanting to do this for over 2 decades. Remember that betsy whatever her name? She's Eric Prince's sister? She was against public schools. and trump made her head of the Department of Education for the entire country. george w bush had some sketchy people. One of his shitty brothers (daughter is Lauren Bush) is involved in some type of nonsense education bullshit. republican realized a very long time ago, that they can also earn some fabulous grift through education. They want to just run some shitty charter schools or scam religious schools and basically funnel money from the treasury to themselves, via the department of education.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 20, 2024 5:53 AM |
I need to be sedated until November 6.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 20, 2024 11:05 AM |
Funny-ish story: the only student in my husband’s first year of medical school - just a University of Texas branch, nothing special - to fail out was a Yalie. He basically never learned how to study as an undergrad but still got by and was obviously intelligent, because he got decent MCAT scores. He just couldn’t keep up with the rigor.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 20, 2024 11:21 AM |
That doesn't surprise me one bit, R20, since I believe that Yale undergrad is one of those schools that don't give actual letter grades. At the end of the semester, the professor sits down with the student and they have a discussion, and that's how they "pass the class."
Can someone who went to Yale confirm this?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 20, 2024 11:31 AM |

Yes.
The big push here is to keep us stupid and superstitious, worshipping God and whatever employer is paying us a pittance. The big corporate powers that be and people like the Kochs want to go back to the days of serfdom.
They'd really prefer to do it with us white folks, so they don't have to import any more cheap brown or black labor.

Anti immigration with an immigrant wife, anti education with a degree from Yale, name change 3 times… this guy is as nutty as they come. What a mess.
It’s very depressing.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 21, 2024 3:50 PM |
Destroying the educational system, eliminating educated people, basing everything we do on superstition, fairy tales and Christianity... what could possibly go wrong? Other than sliding into the Dark Ages part 2, of course.

How does he have so much time on his hands is a question I’ve been hearing at work in relation to Vance and Musk. I have some coworkers who were deep in that hustle culture a few years back. It glorified tech CEOs and told guys to wake at 5am, work 2 jobs, drive Uber, sleep for 4 hours, hard work will make you a billionaire. Now these guys are asking how Musk can run multiple companies and be in government with Trump and have 11 kids and tweet all day.
You should see their faces as they realize that what he actually does is not worthy of the power and money he commands.
Same with Vance. Another doozy from a scummy podcast drops. They wonder how he ran his own business, had children, worked in tech and wrote a book. Their little faces when I remind them that his business failed hard, he didn’t show up to his job, his aunt minds his kids. His business failed - he still made money. He didn’t go to work - he wasn’t fired. He started a scam charity - he was elected to the senate. The pieces come together and they accept that guys like Vance and Musk are not role models. They just got lucky. They don’t give a shit about guys in Wisconsin making 50k. I can’t believe the penny is only dropping now but it does make me hopeful for the election.

Now, he's threatening Europe over Musk bans.
[quote]JD Vance suggested that the US may reconsider its support for NATO if the European Union pursued regulations targeting social media platforms, particularly Elon Musk's X.
[quote]"What America should be saying is, if NATO wants us to continue supporting them and NATO wants us to continue to be a good participant in this military alliance, why don't you respect American values and respect free speech?" he continued, adding that it was "insane that we would support a military alliance if that military alliance isn't going to be pro-free speech."

Rachel Maddow had a good line last week. She said,
"The people who endorse Kamala Harris now range from AOC at one end of the spectrum to Dick Cheney at the other. If you fit anywhere in that spectrum, you should be voting for Harris.
On the other hand, if you like JD Vance, well, you guys should definitely vote for Trump."

That will fail. He lacks the personality. See what happened with DeSantis.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 25, 2024 2:23 AM |
Republicans love an uneducated public, one of the reasons they want end the Department of Education. They would prefer no public schools and have Christian churches educate students with a heavy dose of religion in the education. Oh and not allow teachers to join unions.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 25, 2024 2:37 AM |
His kids will attend Yale. Yours will work in a factory and birth 10 white babies. After the mass deportations there will be no service industry unless one can afford a servant so that will keep women chained to the kitchen. African Americans, you will be the servant washing Usha’s underwear. You will get an hour off on Sunday to forcibly attend the Latin mass.

by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 25, 2024 1:50 PM |
A bunch of Republicans in the House and Senate have undergraduate and advanced degrees from Ivy League and other very prestigious universities.
It is appalling these universities are delivering politicians with questionable critical thinking skills, a propensity for lying and other unethical, and often illegal behavior, and a fondness for excessive greed, dismantling democratic processes, and embracing fascist ideology.

According to current data, India has the highest number of people living in modern slavery globally, with estimates suggesting over 11 million individuals are currently enslaved, primarily through forms like bonded labor, child exploitation, and human trafficking, largely due to factors like the caste system and deep-rooted poverty; this issue is particularly prevalent in industries like brick kilns, agriculture, and garment manufacturing.
[QUOTE]Key points about modern slavery in India:
[QUOTE]Prevalence: India is considered the country with the most slaves, with millions trapped in modern slavery.
[QUOTE]Forms of slavery: Bonded labor (working to pay off debts), child labor, forced marriage, human trafficking, and forced begging are common forms of slavery in India.
[QUOTE]Contributing factors:The caste system, extreme poverty, lack of access to justice, and lax enforcement of labor laws contribute significantly to the problem.
[QUOTE]Impact on communities: Marginalized communities, especially those considered "Untouchables" within the caste system, are disproportionately affected.
[QUOTE]18 million people are currently enslaved in India. Uniting India's diverse cultures and institutions are strict hierarchies and deeply embedded systems of oppression....
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 25, 2024 11:42 PM |
Usha is as trapped as she wishes to be. And SHE WOULD deny EVERYONE, per her "judgey" clerkships with Brett Kavanaugh and John Roberts. Knowing her Indian background and her penchant for self-gratifying hatred, she probably has a pocket argument JUSTIFYING modern slavery. At least, her hubby will... She married the fucker.
