Eldergays I just discovered Monk

It’s freakin awesome. It’s like Seinfeld meets Matlock. Ted Levine is so hot.

What about Columbo‽

by Anonymousreply 1September 16, 2024 6:17 AM

Only sometimes Monk is a little too smart to the point of incredulousness. Still a great show.

by Anonymousreply 2September 16, 2024 6:22 AM

Actually, I think Randy is the hot one.

by Anonymousreply 3September 16, 2024 6:25 AM

This show is one of the best. It is truly eldergay catnip. I adore Randy, and his band The Randy Disher Project. His friendship with Stottlemeyer is fucking adorable without being too gushy. My husband and I have watched each episode 4 times now and it NEVAH! gets old. We wait a year or so, then watch them again. It's like new again for what we discover, or re-discover.

That could also be very much not so early on dementia. Oh well....whadyagonnado?

by Anonymousreply 4September 16, 2024 6:50 AM

I watched one episode and laughed very much.

by Anonymousreply 5September 16, 2024 8:05 AM

It can get pretty cheesy and contrived but that show is comfort food to me. I get the same sort of thing out of House.

by Anonymousreply 6September 16, 2024 8:52 AM

Eldergay catnip!? What does it mean when I started watching this show when I was 12 years old and loved it?

by Anonymousreply 7September 16, 2024 8:59 AM

You’re an old soul R7.

by Anonymousreply 8September 16, 2024 10:56 AM

Nice shots of SF.

by Anonymousreply 9September 16, 2024 11:23 AM

Never saw it because I hate the title.

by Anonymousreply 10September 16, 2024 11:25 AM

OP, I agreed until "Ted Levine is so hot. "

What?? Yikes

by Anonymousreply 11September 16, 2024 11:29 AM

I never watched this shit.

by Anonymousreply 12September 16, 2024 11:40 AM

DIAGF you soulless cunt r12

by Anonymousreply 13September 16, 2024 11:47 AM

I stopped watching after Bitty Schram left. That chick who replaced her was super annoying.

by Anonymousreply 14September 16, 2024 11:48 AM

Tony Shalhoub said that Bitty Scrham was one of the most wonderful people he had ever worked with.

by Anonymousreply 15September 16, 2024 11:57 AM

r14 I was not a fan of Natalie's character either. I miss Bitty very much and thought she was the perfect partner for him. I will always wonder why the kicked her to the curb. Natalie's pencil skirts and constant "Mr. Monk?" made me fucknuts.

by Anonymousreply 16September 16, 2024 11:59 AM

Sharona was the best character of Natalie but I also wonder if the show would have ended earlier without the character change. The writers may have written out of things to write.

by Anonymousreply 17September 16, 2024 12:30 PM

Why did Bitty Schram leave? I just looked and she hasn’t gotten any work except for one thing since she left.

by Anonymousreply 18September 16, 2024 12:41 PM

R18 she thought she deserved more pay just like Suzanne Somers. They fired her.

by Anonymousreply 19September 16, 2024 12:57 PM

How do you know it's shit if you never watched it, R12?

On another note, Tony Shalhoub showed his cute hairy ass on stage in a bad Theresa Rebeck play around the time of this show. I would have liked to see his cock.

by Anonymousreply 20September 16, 2024 1:11 PM

Tony is very talented - I hope he gets to be in a cool A24 movie or something soon.

by Anonymousreply 21September 16, 2024 1:22 PM

Great show. I loved Randy too and actually liked Natalie better than Sharonda but both were good. A very comfortable cast and the SF filming added a lot.

by Anonymousreply 23September 16, 2024 1:42 PM

I don't think very much was actually filmed in SF. Most of the exteriors look like LA or Vancouver.

by Anonymousreply 24September 16, 2024 3:27 PM

R20 I cuss the TV when I see a monk marathon on the oldies tv channel
