Springfield, Ohio

What does DL know about this town? It must have a history and places of interest. It certainly is more than a pawn in an incendiary conspiracy theory.

It's only the fifth largest Springfield in the nation, with 58k people. Weird how MAGA fixates on these small towns, throwing them into the national spotlight overnight. Though I guess that's exactly where the culture wars are at their most potent – recall also the 2017 tiki torch march in Charlottesville, which is even smaller.

That Springfield frau who made the pet thing up will never live this down.

The Trump Nazi crew decided it needed to foment more hatred so, when he's elected, the deportation program that they want will seem more palatable to the public. As with any oppression, the first thing that the oppressor must do is to make the targets seem less than human. Look at any historical oppression and you'll see that's true. They were looking for a test target and the evil JD said," Hey, there's a city right around where I grew up with a lot of black immigrants. Let's use them. The " They're eating dogs" thing at the debate wasn't a sign of dementia, but a kickoff of the campaign for deportation and fear, since they have nothing else to run on. And, of course, no condemnation from the Dems.

I was born and raised in rural Ohio, close to Springfield and it was a great childhood.

Not far from Yellow Springs, home of the formerly inimitable Antioch College.
