For all of the Donna Summer fans, a two CD package of 'On The Radio : Greatest Hits Expanded" is being released on November 15, 2024. The track listing is different from the original 1979 release, and this includes the track 'Down Deep Inside' from the 1977 movie 'The Deep'. The bonus disc includes all her hits (in different mixes) of her 1980's "and beyond" catalog. The long version of "No More Tears" (included on her 1979 album) has been replaced with the 7" version of the Streisand duet. The current retail for this is around $27.
There will also be a double LP vinyl release of this special package, with some talk (but not confirmed) of a limited edition 'colored vinyl' release. The regular vinyl is currently retailing for around $37.
Both CD and vinyl come with an updated booklet on Summer's career, with photos and out-takes of the photo shoot from artist Harry Langton.
Speaking of Langton, a photo book of Summer's album cover shoots (including outtakes) is now available. Most fan reaction is the book is very expensive for what you get (keep in mind it's released by a small publisher who caters to a niche market). It's not the coffee table 'glossy' book Langton hinted at the past few years. And fans point out the book is filled with typos and some wrong info in the text of the book. (The photos are top-notch, though).
