Autumnal horror movies

It's time, bitches. We are almost midway through September. There is nothing that gets me in the mood for the season more than a horror movie with a strong autumnal aura. Let's name some. The entire "Halloween" series is a given, of course. "The Blair Witch Project" is one of my favorites that falls into this category (no pun intended).

Fuck I need to watch Mame. I totally forgot about it. I think it was obliquely referenced in the Gene Wolfe (my favorite author) small town horror novel Peace, but I missed it at the time.

In light of it being Friday the 13th, what are you watching tonight? I want to go see something in the theater but my partner is a pussy and won’t go to see horror movies on the big screen.

Anything from the 70s. Anything.

What is it about most horror flicks from the 70s that’s so terrifying?

Someone help me.

R27 weirdly enough I just watched that last night for the first time in years. Scream Factory just put it out on 4K this week. It’s a pretty good horror movie actually (and yes, a lot of autumn atmosphere).

OK, this one is thin on plot and it’s hokey, but some of the details are clever.
