Henry Gibson

Does anyone on DL remember character actor Henry Gibson?

He was in so many films and TV shows: Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, Charlotte's Web, The Long Goodbye, Nashville, The Kentucky Fried Movie, The Blue's Brothers, The Incredible Shrinking Woman, Innerspace, Switching Channels, The 'Burbs, Magnolia, The Luck of the Irish, King of the Hill, Wedding Crashers, and Boston Legal.

Of course, OP. We're not all idiots on DL.

I never cared for him for some reason. Maybe because he was the bad guy in Incredible Shrinking Woman which is probably where I first saw him

by Anonymousreply 4September 7, 2024 5:17 PM

I was about ten when The Luck of the Irish (2001) aired, Gibson was Grandfather Leprechaun.

Loathed him. He gave me the creeps as a kid. How he talked on Laugh-In with that blank face was awful to me.

by Anonymousreply 6September 7, 2024 5:20 PM

I always thought he would have been a great Jeff Sessions lol

by Anonymousreply 7September 7, 2024 5:22 PM

Klopecks!

by Anonymousreply 8September 7, 2024 5:24 PM

Wow--the fools here who don't know the difference between tne actor and the person.

by Anonymousreply 9September 7, 2024 5:25 PM

When I was 4/5, I had the biggest crush on Henry Gibson while he has on Laugh-In.

My 4/5 year old self had the oddest taste in men, because I simultaneously had crushes on Soupy Sales and Jerry Lewis.

R9 Bless your heart

by Anonymousreply 11September 7, 2024 6:13 PM

Extremely talented man. A much better actor than he was usually given credit for.

by Anonymousreply 12September 7, 2024 6:17 PM

Was he family?

I thought he was very sexy in an unconventional way.

by Anonymousreply 13September 7, 2024 6:19 PM

R9 types old fag.

by Anonymousreply 14September 7, 2024 6:21 PM

Pretty sure he was straight. Married to the same woman from 1966 until her death in 2007. Three kids.

by Anonymousreply 15September 7, 2024 6:24 PM

A poem...

by Anonymousreply 16September 7, 2024 6:26 PM

R14 why reply to yourself at r9?

by Anonymousreply 17September 7, 2024 6:27 PM

I'm not, darling R17. I'm typing directly to you. But you knew that.

by Anonymousreply 18September 7, 2024 6:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 24September 7, 2024 6:37 PM

An unattractive man who was sexless and not talented. Our new DL mascot.

by Anonymousreply 25September 7, 2024 6:38 PM

Cute little spanked ass on him.

R25 never saw "Nashville" and therefore, her opinion is worthless.

by Anonymousreply 27September 7, 2024 6:41 PM

R24 Mr. CRANE!

by Anonymousreply 28September 7, 2024 7:50 PM

He was brilliant in Altman's "Nashville."
