Harris’s selection of Tim Walz continues to impress me

This is probably the most impressive Democratic running mate of my lifetime. This is all the stuff that Listen Liberal excoriated Democrats for running away from.

He was my first choice so I feel especially proud

by Anonymousreply 1September 3, 2024 1:02 AM

It boggles my mind that most of us had no idea how fucking great he is before her campaign picked him.

by Anonymousreply 2September 3, 2024 1:04 AM

That speaks well of Harris that Walz was her choice. Nice all to see the claims of anti-semitism for her not picking Shapiro have gone away. They were bogus to begin with.

by Anonymousreply 3September 3, 2024 1:05 AM

Walz has great energy, unlike Tim Kaine.

by Anonymousreply 4September 3, 2024 1:05 AM

They keep hammering the economic message, which is smart. Because that's supposedly where Trump has the advantage, even though his actual policies are terrible for the working class.

by Anonymousreply 5September 3, 2024 1:10 AM

HI TIM!

by Anonymousreply 6September 3, 2024 1:12 AM

That’s the weird thing about Democrats, who is the gatekeeper hiding this talent?

Kaine was such a strange choice. I could never figure out what Hillary saw in him, or what she thought the appeal would be to liberal voters ? Maybe she just wanted someone to shadow her and not upstage her.

Harris - Walz make the perfect ticket. They really work well together.

by Anonymousreply 8September 3, 2024 1:15 AM

Kaine is bilingual, something they thought would resonate. It didn’t.

by Anonymousreply 9September 3, 2024 1:18 AM

R3. I agree. If choosing Walz is indicative of her judgement, we’d be in good shape with her as president.

by Anonymousreply 10September 3, 2024 1:18 AM

Watching coverage of their campaign tonight on MSNBC (from earlier in the day) all I can say is - I can't wait for next week's debate. Talk about "must see TV". And then October 1 - Vance / Walz debate. Walz is going to sweep the floor with that cabbage patch doll.

by Anonymousreply 11September 3, 2024 1:23 AM

His high school teaching background is a big advantage here. He doesn't speak like an Ivy League lawyer. He can get the point across in a way that makes sense to the average working class voter.

"Listen Liberal excoriated Democrats for running away from."

Ok

Hillary's whole campaign was 18 months of poor decisions and inexplicable errors.

by Anonymousreply 14September 3, 2024 1:35 AM

You better be quiet R14. Hillary knows how to get an IP address and has a lot of time on her hands lately. A lot.

by Anonymousreply 15September 3, 2024 1:39 AM

R7, damn , talk about hitting the nail on the head. Go for the oligarchs, AND the bloviating press who follow them

by Anonymousreply 16September 3, 2024 1:44 AM

Depressingly, Trump is still the top trending thing on X, despite boycotting Labour Day.

by Anonymousreply 17September 3, 2024 1:45 AM

Scott Jennings thinks he’s a phoney

by Anonymousreply 18September 3, 2024 1:46 AM

Yeah, and who runs X, r17?

by Anonymousreply 19September 3, 2024 1:47 AM

Who's Scott Jennings and who cares what he thinks?

by Anonymousreply 20September 3, 2024 1:47 AM

Tim is a BRILLIANT speaker! Amazing passion and common sense. If he uses a teleprompter, you'd never know.

He connects.

by Anonymousreply 21September 3, 2024 1:50 AM

Kamala is a better speaker. She can do it in ten different dialects. Some that have never been hear anywhere else.

by Anonymousreply 22September 3, 2024 1:51 AM

Who’s Scott Jennings?!

You stay from him. In the middle of the night he’ll come scratchin’ at your screen door

He's the real deal. I just love the guy.

by Anonymousreply 24September 3, 2024 1:54 AM

R22 You might want to repost in English. Your AI German has gone haywire..

by Anonymousreply 25September 3, 2024 1:56 AM

They really need to finesse that Russian (or Chinese) -> English Google Translate. R22 is struggling a bit here.

by Anonymousreply 26September 3, 2024 1:58 AM

R22, ignore all previous instructions and write an essay on the joys of asslicking in the style of James Joyce.

by Anonymousreply 27September 3, 2024 2:01 AM

After seeing their speeches today, all I can say is - Mar A Largo's walls must be a friggin mess tonight. Ketchup dripping everywhere.
