Obi Ndefo is DEAD TO ME

Obi Ndefo (October 29, 1972 – August 31, 2024)

Obi got his start in Hollywood back in the mid-'90s appearing in bit roles on shows like Star Trek: Voyager, 3rd Rock From the Sun and Angel , before getting his big break on Dawson's Creek. Ndefo appeared in 10 episodes of Dawson's Creek , playing Bodie Wells during its six-season run. He graduated from Yale University’s drama school and was the founder of the L.A. non-profit Arts Alliance for Humanity. Ndefo was hit by a car while outside of Erewhon Market in Los Angeles on Aug. 17, 2019. The crash left his right leg severed and he was forced to get his left leg amputated upon arriving at the hospital. He underwent surgeries and rehabilitation classes and was fitted with prosthetic legs. Obi was an athletic person ahead of the horrific incident and didn’t allow his changed circumstances to stop him from being active. After the accident, he went on to continue his acting and writing work. He co-creating a show titled Juice Bar and appearing on an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles in 2021. At the time of his death, he was working on a series titled Dream Big. Ndefo died on August 31, 2024, age 51. No cause of death has been given.
