Gays are going to spend the next four years imitating everything she says.
I been knew she was lowkey camp when she talked about her love of yellow school buses š. But the media with Republican assistance led me to believe she was kinda of an intellectual airhead for the past 4 years. I knew she was AG of California but I didnāt realize how accomplished of an AG she truly was. I love this chica. She is my mom without the emotional baggage.

Did someone leave the cake out in the rain again?

It's not camp in the traditional sense where everyone is in on the joke. It's called the "Veep" effect. Taking her seriously depends on the audience.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 30, 2024 6:34 AM |
How refreshingly normal!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 30, 2024 7:00 AM |
Hillary was campier.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 30, 2024 9:14 AM |
Adoring (or pretending to adore) Hillary, her pantsuits, and her occasional caftans was campy. She herself isn't/wasn't.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 30, 2024 9:26 AM |
Definitely of the unintentional camp variety.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 30, 2024 9:29 AM |
I have no opinion on the camp question. What I want to know is whether this cake be ordered by mail.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 30, 2024 10:11 AM |
R12 is correct. The act of supporting Hillary was camp (jokes on Modern Family, etc.) Hillary was not camp. That is why no drag queens do her.
There are going to be so many Kamala Harris drag queens if she is elected.

This woman is going to be the next president. I can just feel it. She has the most natural charisma talking to real people since Bill Clinton. Obama had a lot of charisma too but always gave me brilliant professor vibes. Did anyone watch the CNN interview. How was it?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 30, 2024 12:53 PM |
One thing Kamala lacks is charisma. No, she's no Bill Clinton or Obama.

I do love her.

by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 30, 2024 2:22 PM |
She does not lack charisma. I don't know how you could watch her acceptance speech at the DNC, or the packed rallies full of fired up supporters, and say that with a straight face.

R22 They are haters. Their idea of a female with charisma is Madge circa 1989 on the tonight show rocking a cone bra.

Or even with gayface.

Michelle Obama has charisma. Kamala, no, not so much.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 30, 2024 2:36 PM |
R25 You really donāt think so? I do. And Iām always real about these things regardless of my political views. Hill didnāt have charisma and I loved me some Hill. Sarah Palin had mad charisma, even as a bumbling idiot. May I ask what are your political views? George Bush had charisma, Al Gore did not.

R30 You see, she looks like a regular lightskin sista in that pic. Albeit looking super gorgeous along with her besties. This right wing nonsense accusing of her cosplaying as a black woman just needs to stop.

I donāt see it.

I love this, and love how she can switch gearsā¦ like, somebody could conclude sheās sweet but vapid from this. Theyād be mistaken and would know it if they ever faced her as opposition in a court of law or a Senate hearing.

Caramel cake is a southern delicacy. I don't think they have caramel cake outside of the South. It's the favorite cake of Savannah.

I'm speaking.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 31, 2024 2:05 AM |
I think this campaign angle was to laugh harder at JD Vance and the 'sprinkle stuff' he didn't know he was buying. Imagine if she walked into the cafe and said, "I'll take a piece of that thing with the drizzle on it." ? Republicans would drag her over the media.

Honey, Kamala is hiding her light under a bushel. When she's president and doesn't have to worry about terrifying white men like Jeff Sessions or Bill Barr, she is going to let you see her Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent.
