I think so. What a flawless career.
Is the singer Sade the most elegant on Earth?

I'm inclined to agree with you.

I’m listening to her in my shop right now.

Weak voice. Strong stylist.

My all time favorite. I think her music is timeless.

I had not heard of her. I noticed you didn't supply a link of any sort to support your post - how odd. That would have been nice. I searched her on my own, and found that she does have a great voice.

"Ladies Of The 80s"

her band puts out music as sweetback which is also pretty good

R7 how can you not have heard of her? Are you lying to us?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 26, 2024 10:53 PM |
I adore her. Modern singers could learn something from her understated style.

She burned bright 40 years ago, then faded away. I would not call that career FLAWLESS.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 26, 2024 11:04 PM |
Did she ever twerk or parade about in the altogether on the arm of a vulgar tattooed rapper?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 26, 2024 11:05 PM |
Yacht music to fuck by.

She records when she feels like it, tours when she feels like it, gives few interviews, and people always are happy to see her. That's success.

She and Enya could teach modern pop acts how to maintain long, pretty successful careers while maintaining certain mystery about themselves.

She's made millions by doing the bare minimum. Nice work if you can get it. I think her music is pleasant but forgettable.

R14 you are exactly right!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 27, 2024 3:59 AM |
Beautiful voice
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 27, 2024 4:10 AM |
R12 Not really.
She’s released 1 album a decade and they’ve all been successful. Even in the declining sales of the music industry, “Soldier of Love” was a #1 Platinum album in 2010.

R7 You never heard of Sade? Are you a Zoomer?

Hang on to your love.....bitch!

Sade released 3 albums in the 80s. Sade is both the name of the band and Sade’s performer name. I’m guessing she legally changed it at this point. I hated her music growing up as my dad was a huge Sade fan and it sounded depressing to me. I love it now.

Smooth Operator is brilliantly written song and beautifully sung. It just sounds like having fine wine and caviar off the Amalfi coast or something.

Her voice is perfect for what she does with it.
She had and still has an elegant, dramatic and refined look.
She has never made a fool of herself as far as I can tell, or courted the press past what it could actually do for her.
I have never heard anyone insinuate the least flaw in her culture, musical taste or professional behavior.
Sounds like she's winning to me.

That whole early/mid 80s jazz pop scene is one of my favorites. Everything But the Girl, Style Council, Alison Moyet and yes, Sade.
Effortlessly elegant!

She was very supportive when her daughter transitioned fully to male over the past few years.
I think Sade has had an enviable career. Her last album was released 14 years ago and was a very successful no 1 album. I don’t recall her ever appearing on a TV chat show, and the last interview I read was about 25 years ago.
I wonder if she will ever make more music?

Interestingly, I've seen more than a couple of stylish young people with Sade t-shirt lately.

If approached only from a talent and ‘vibe’ POV, Amy Winehouse had similar potential.

I never heard this Chic-style Sade song in its original release (as a B side to Smooth Operator)......Fabu!
