Wasn't Mariah estranged from her sister, who alongside her brother had spent years saying some extremely nasty things about her in the media? I suppose that they could have reconciled at some point in the recent past, but Mariah has often shown herself to be extremely uncompromising and lacking in generosity, so I am not so sure that this is likely to have taken place.

As far as I know, Mariah was close to her mother, so I am sure that she is very sad about her passing. By the way, didn't Mariah's father abandon the family at some point during her childhood, and they lived in near destitution for over a decade? Both her youth and that of her siblings appear to be have been marked by extreme instability, but I would have imagined that Mariah's enormous success would have brought them together at some point. Sadly, it doesn't look like this ever happened.
