I’m Gen X and I don’t really think I knew who Valens was before the movie. And I probably came out of it more impressed with Bob.

We only had country stations on the radio, R8. I don’t think the song La Bamba was a thing for me before the movie. Wooly Bully, yes.

R5 R6 they can learn who he is though. The movie will give him exposure. A lot of them probably didn’t know who Freddie Mercury was before Bohemian Rhapsody came out and now they all know him and listen to Queen

Honestly yes, it was so remote that it might as well have been space, R8. No MTV either.
