‘The Acolyte’ Canceled: No Season 2 For Disney+’s ‘Star Wars’ Series
EXCLUSIVE: The story of The Acolyte will not continue, with Lucasfilm opting not to proceed with a second season of the Star Wars offshoot starring Amandla Stenberg, sources tell Deadline.
Word of the decision comes more than a month after the eight-episode first season of the series from creator, director, executive producer and showrunner Leslye Headland wrapped its run on Disney+.

So, are they blaming misogyny or racism for the cancellation?

The whole media campaign was shit show, I’ve never heard actors or showrunners be so vocally annoying as these people. They were the match that lit fires.

It wasn't quite the 'woke' Star Wars show that people made it out to be, except for the episode about the lesbian space witches, which seemed designed specifically to troll the show's detractors.
It just didn't really have anything to recommend it, aside from Manny Jacinto's arms.

Now it just needs to be stated that the whole story was from an alternative universe other than the one the real Star Wars is set in.

I still haven’t seen the thing.
Might not bother anymore.
How the fuck do you manage to screw up the supposed ORIGIN story of the greatest fantasy saga ever told??
God damn they need to get George back. He needs to set those fuckers straight. Fuck political correctness.

Lucasfilms really has killed the goose that laid the golden eggs by making far too many spin-offs of "Star Wars." It's been ridiculous how many spin-off films and movies it has had.
I worry the same thing will happen with the Star Trek franchise and the George R. R. Martin Westeros franchise.

That would be Disney, R6.
Their unending greed is ridiculous. They also have problems with park attendance, right?
They’re pricing themselves right into oblivion.
That Snow White movie might be another nail in their glass coffin.
I’m loathe to admit it but pandering to that woke shit is problematic.

FFS - people didn't hate it because it was woke.
People didn't hate it because it had women leads or minorities.
People hate it because it was demonstrably poorly written and an awful show.
It's not any deeper or more complex than that. It was a badly written, poorly conceived show that was banking on its Star Wars connection to make it popular and make money.

Oh. I didn't get around to watching it and now it seems pointless starting.

They’re going to just do it again though. And whatever they cook up will probably get more ad spend than S2 of Andor.

Amandla was radicalized by the backlash she received for playing Rue in The Hunger Games.

It was poorly written and badly acted. A coven of witches in Star Wars? An evil twin? I mean really. It was hackwork written by a dumb cunt with an agenda who openly said she wasn't a Star Wars fan. She should've written Twilight fan fiction.

Well, to be fair, that's what the sisters on Dathomir are - a coven of witches.
Most SW fans are fine with Dathomir and the sisters there - it's where Darth Maul and Asajj Ventress are from.
