I think Tim Walz IS nervous. He is a really good guy and a very authentic guy. I don't think his ambitions ever focused on being on a national ticket. And while he was in D.C. for 12 years in Congress, he never aspired to go for Senator or to command a national profile. He is no Gavin Newsome or Josh Shapiro. So I feel for him, because he's nervous and a little bit self conscious. I love the guy. I even feel kind of protective of him. If the Republican strategy is to attack Walz and attempt to impugn his reputation that will blow up in their faces and deservedly so. It just seems wrong to attack him.

When someone who is in a position of great power and presents themselves as really "kind, warm, and personable" in public, I automatically don't trust them and assume they're completely full of shit. Most people get to positions of power by sharing traits of the dark triad and psychopathy. I don't think Walz is genuine. But, then again, I openly despise all politicians and the corporate oligarchs who control them.

Trump is the very embodiment of this phenomenon. The difference between him and everyone else, to me, is that he has no filter and doesn't hide it. The fact that he has supporters let's me know that being outwardly evil and narcissistic is attractive to many people because the average human being doesn't have those core dark triad characteristics that would allow them to rise to a position of immense power. So, people choose to follow others who are bold enough to do what they can't yet secretly wish they could.

Anyway, I really don't understand why people genuinely trust and like politicians and don't maintain a level of indifference toward as opposed to hero worship. Can someone please explain this to me? Why do you like these people and trust them? Why the lack of reservations/caution? Serious question.
