A couple rounds of steroids and she’ll be better than ever!

Drinking again?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 17, 2024 9:39 PM |
I wish her well.

Alright, let me tell you about the time Kathleen Turner totally surprised me. I was working as a hairstylist on a low budget film, and we were in the middle of a crazy long day. Kathleen comes in for her touch-up, and she must’ve seen the exhaustion on my face.
Without missing a beat, she asks about my day and I mention it’s my husband’s birthday, but I’m stuck working late. Kathleen, with that warm smile of hers, says, “Hold on a minute.” She leaves and comes back with a huge, beautiful bouquet of flowers she had in her trailer.
She hands them to me and says, “Give these to your man. Tell him happy birthday from me.” I was floored. Here’s a Hollywood legend, and she’s thinking about my partner’s birthday. That’s Kathleen for you - kindness when you least expect it. I really hope she’ll be okay.

Get up Daddy!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 18, 2024 3:08 AM |
Leslie Jordan said she was wonderful, so I like her.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 18, 2024 3:12 AM |
Thanks for sharing that, R7. Lovely story about Kathleen. I’ve read elsewhere that she’s great to work with as well.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 18, 2024 3:15 AM |
Kathleen will the be the next person taken by the "Friends" curse.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 18, 2024 3:44 AM |
That's a cool story about KT at R7. If she is drinking, again, I hope she can just quit. (She previously said: "I’m not an alcoholic, but I am an abuser [of drink].") She also has been to rehab.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 18, 2024 3:51 AM |
She’s fine. She was just practicing for her audition to replace that old bitch in the I’ve fallen and can’t get up video. The producers want to find a replacement that will draw a younger, more non-hip replacement crowd.

Is this Four Two One Five Pussy Way?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 18, 2024 5:41 AM |
R5 It looks pretty good. It's summer stock.
I saw this with Jean Simmons and Margaret Hamilton. Hamilton was miscast.

This makes me sad. 😮💨
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 18, 2024 6:07 AM |
And we were just commenting on her resemblance to the late Vestal Goodman the other day...
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 18, 2024 6:12 AM |
A gem. One of the best.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 18, 2024 6:29 AM |
Mary! me if you must, but I love her, completely and unironically, whether she’s drink or sober, fat or thin, young or old. She’s just got that charisma. She makes every production good. I hope she keeps going.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 18, 2024 6:49 AM |
The weather’s supposed to be a muggy mess next week. She should have held off.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 18, 2024 7:14 AM |
They have air conditioning in Maine.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 18, 2024 12:10 PM |
Well, thanks, R7, now I can't make my crack about the floorboards and the basement.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 18, 2024 12:16 PM |
R7, the truth is she needed the empty vase for another gin ricky.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 18, 2024 2:52 PM |
Someone should piss on her fish. That’ll get her going.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 18, 2024 3:32 PM |
That clip at R5 gave me a headache from rolling my eyes. I have had my fill of Sondheim, I suppose.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 18, 2024 4:40 PM |
Was the "Ketamine Queen" in the audience?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 18, 2024 6:07 PM |
And so what begins?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 18, 2024 6:34 PM |
Eat shit and die OP, she's a fucking national treasure.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 18, 2024 6:41 PM |
Oh for heavens sake she was taken ill and couldn't finish a performance. So what. How many times has that Tony winner from Hells Kitchen not made it through the entire show. The weather has been horribly humid and she's got health issues to begin with. Give her a break.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 18, 2024 7:20 PM |
Who's the "Tony winner from Hell's Kitchen"? I'm not familiar with anything east of the 405.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 18, 2024 7:25 PM |
Any update on Miss Turner?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 18, 2024 7:36 PM |
R32, we’ve just received word from Brenda Vaccaro!
“She’s” *ghaaaaaaaaasp*
We’ll update as more words are said.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 18, 2024 7:40 PM |
She's 70 years old and she's a lifelong smoker and drinker. Tick tock.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 18, 2024 10:20 PM |
Is Sally Stuthers anywhere in the area?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 18, 2024 10:51 PM |
R35. No, but Sally Struthers is.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 18, 2024 10:53 PM |
Frankly, R5 doesn't know what she's talking about. From that clip the production looks quite solid, and Kathleen was enchanting. I never would have thought she could sing so well. Her basso is quite good! I wish her a speedy recovery.
I saw her in The Graduate in London -you couldn't take your eyes off her, she radiated so much star quality. A friend of mine worked with her on a later West End show and said she absolutely professional and a pleasure to work with.

In fairness, she's a lot to take in.

OMG....the guy playing Swedish Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm....LOL. Listen to his rendition of "In Praise of Women"!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 19, 2024 12:11 AM |
Goddamn. I'll climb Mike McGowan without a net.

Any update?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 22, 2024 3:29 PM |
This interview is from this summer and she's pretty upbeat. I bet she'll be back.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 22, 2024 4:47 PM |
No worries , it's just the Bottle Flu. Recovery in 2 days.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 22, 2024 5:22 PM |
Her repertoire in the 80's and 90's was unbelievable. Going from Francis Coppola and John Huston to John Waters and Ken Russell. No other actress was as daring.
Also Romancing the Stone, War of the Roses, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Body Heat, Virgin Suicides.
My number one candidate for an Honorary Oscar. With Sigourney coming in second.
Sorry Glenn

War of the Roses is epic. Danny Devito's direction and the combo of Kathleen, him and Michael
They should have done a Thin Man type of series for the big screen.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 22, 2024 5:29 PM |
oh Kathleen Turner we love you get up
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 22, 2024 5:31 PM |
Loved her in Peggy Sue Got Married, too bad I couldn't ignore Nicholas Cage. Coppola often had casting mistakes in his movies, like Vincent Spano in Rumble Fish or Keanu Reeves in Dracula.

What a star.
Saw her years ago in a production of “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream”
There was a pool in the center of the stage into which the fairy spirits would dive, to disappear from mortals, and then miraculously emerge from elsewhere in theatre.
Kathleen made quite a splash.
