Following in the footsteps of this season’s America’s Veto and Deepfake HoH upgrades, “Big Brother 26” is ready to unleash another twist on the unsuspecting houseguests.

Ainsley first teased the AI Instigator power during Tuesday’s special recap episode with past winners Taylor Hale, Jag Bains and Cody Calafiore, saying, “One thing I have learned is that America loves impacting the game. I am giving America another game-changing decision to make.”

CBS reported that 5 million votes were cast for America’s Veto last week, ultimately putting Quinn on the block — and now, America will get two new chances to impact the game (additionally, Wednesday’s episode averaged 3.19 million viewers, setting a ratings season-high and making it the No. 1 show of the night in adults 25-54).

Fresh off Thursday’s live eviction that saw Makensy win the AI Arena and voluntary pawn Cedric get evicted in a 6-3 blindside against Rubina, TheWrap can offer some details about how the AI Instigator power will work. Essentially, it’s a combination of three past twists: America’s Player, Team America and the Saboteur.

Starting Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, America will have one week to vote for a houseguest to become the AI Instigator, with 10 votes per day. Voting is open through Thursday, Aug. 22, at noon ET/9 a.m. PT.

The elected houseguest will be revealed on Sunday, Aug. 25 — unless they’re evicted next week? — and must “instigate chaos by spreading misinformation about their housemates using their AI Avatars,” similar to how Quinn more or less controlled AI Angela this week.

A second vote will then be implemented to award the instigator with a cash prize of between $5-$20K depending on how well they live up to expectations.

But first, an endurance challenge will take place in the backyard deep into Thursday night to determine the next Head of Household. And as always, expect the unexpected.

Does Datalounge have an official choice for this? Personally, I don’t give a shit.

I gave Quinn all my votes as he seems to stir up trouble quite well. However, with Tucker as HOH, Quinn may be evicted before he gets the power if America chooses him.

Tonight's episode was one of the most boring. 'The Tucker Show' continues - when will these idiots realize that the more they keep playing his game, then he wins? Sexy shots of him all night long, but his show is now paint-by-numbers excitement.

It’s natural for us as humans to feel that even in a game, especially when you’re living this game 24/7 for 3 months. This becomes your reality.

Dan/Ian, Paul/Josh, Paul/Nicole, Tyler/Kaycee, Danielle/Lisa are all great examples of the “better player” losing in the end. Tucker can very well join that list with how he’s been playing. Big Brother is more than just winning comps and he doesn’t get that. It’s about strategy and relationships too. Jury management has always been important

Tucker did a terrible job as AI Instigator and I don't particularly care for him but that is CBS money and I would rather have a contestant get money that CBS keep it, so if I was to vote I would vote for the max amount regardless of who the contestant was, but not going to waste my time voting.

Yeah, I thought Tucker was going to stir up more trouble, but the houseguests didn’t even understand some of the AI comments like the one directed at Leah.

I grew up in a family that's half-British. T'Kor inserts the English accent at will, especially in the diary room. If you say a word a certain way, you're going to say it the same way every time. T'Kor doesn't. The same word can come out in a way that is purely with an American accent, then it comes out in the British one later. Sometimes she says words in her British accent in a way no British person would.

You'll never convince anyone who grew up hearing both accents. She does it for attention. It drives me crazy because it is so inauthentic.

This gentle flower reminds me a lot of Angela. I can totally see her acting like this.

Tucker seemed like he was on some sort of stage doing improv, taking on weird voices, almost like he was auditioning for a potential future role. When I would catch him on the live feeds he often seemed more like a normal person and not someone playing a role. That person with a little less self congratulations when he would win might have gone further.

This whole season has been lackluster to me thus far

Dud casting. I don’t mind when they go for less conventional looking characters. It’s just that they found people with very little gameplay or personality. This show probably needs to go off the air for five years and come back after that. It’s just too scripted, too stale, and nothing is surprising anymore. They’ve run out of twists and turns to throw at us.

Actually the AI Arena has introduced a level of surprise, no one, even the house guests have any idea who they will be voting for until the last minute. So no one knows who is leaving, in other seasons it was pretty well known who was leaving most of the week, now the people voting don't even know until the last minute and some of them still don't know as Angela showed last week.

Something tells me it's difficult to cast a show like this anymore. Why play your life out in a studio house when you can do it on your own terms and make cash (Onlyfans, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)? Is it cool to be on one of these reality shows in 2024? They take your phone away still, don't they?

Yes no outside contact. They cast these shows by having what they call mixers. The cull the young broke and fabulous in LA and have casting mixers (the Bachelor and Bachelorette do this too). They watch for interactions between people. Who is outgoing, who is introverted etc BB does this and also does target casting Tkor was (real name Dinah) found through her appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show for her crochet clothing and hats. I think the cast was pretty good. At least alliances shifted and there was some surprises and drama.

I didn’t get into Angela for the first few weeks because I felt like she was being fake or coached by production. After seeing her for an extended period of time, I think she’s genuine.
