[quote]He has ranted about Ms. Harris. He has called her “nasty,” on “Fox & Friends,” and a “bitch,” repeatedly, in private, according to two people who heard the remark on different occasions. (“That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala, and it’s not how the campaign would characterize her,” Mr. Cheung said.)
The video of him going around where he is on the golf cart with Barron, he calls Kamala a bitch. So it's too late to deny it.

This is actually a pretty good article considering it's the NY Times.
I can't get over how the Trump Campaign literally has no clue how to turn this sinking Titanic around and avoid the iceberg that is Kamala Harris. Trump has become meaner and more sullen even antagonistic toward everyone including his biggest billionaire supporters
Despite everything else that disqualifies Trump to most Americans, he's become a dour sourpuss wallowing in his own misery. There's no hope, no promise just gloom, doom and fear
... and why that's bad for Donald Trump 😉
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 11, 2024 9:44 AM |
I don't know if this has been covered on DL yet.
I'd never heard of Adin Ross, but per Wiki:
[quote]In August 2024, Ross interviewed former president Donald Trump on his stream while wearing a Make America Great Again hat, expressing his support for him, as well as telling his viewers to vote for Trump in the upcoming 2024 election.[26][27] The stream had over 564,000 concurrent viewers at its peak during the live stream. Towards the end, Ross gifted him a Rolex watch and a Tesla Cybertruck with Trump's raised fist photograph during his attempted assassination imprinted on the vehicle though it remains unclear if Trump accepted them, due to campaign contributions under federal law capped at $3,300.[30]
He's also been banned permanently from Twitch for homophobic slurs and hateful speech.
Oh: and Barron is weird too.

The thing that takes the potential of him losing in November from “joyous” to “orgiastic” is the knowledge that it won’t just be him getting beaten, it’s him getting beaten by a Black woman, two things that he hates.

Wait, so it was Barron who told Trump to do that Cyber Truck thing, I KNEW IT!
Been saying it before, Barron is NOT going to break the spell, Barron is 100% behind his father, maybe even more so than Don Jr and Eric.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 11, 2024 12:28 PM |
R22 Yes and I wouldn't just call it 'the cybertruck thing'. The interviewer, Adin Ross, is vile. He is a big Andrew Tate supporter. He's almost illiterate. He has said he sniffed his sister's panties. He has multiple videos where he sniffs the farts and asses of 'alpha males' including Tate. He interviewed Tate and then inhaled the chair afterwards. Trump calls him 'very respectable'.
Barron watching this guy is not just a red flag, it's a parade of red flags and a banner saying 'another asshole'.
In any other election cycle a clip of 'I sniffed my sister's panties' followed by a clip of 'very respectable guy' would be moment when the candidate jumps the shark. For Trump it's not even the weirdest thing he did that day.

As least some of the reasoning behind the two-week break is a lack of money. He owes a bundle to a number of venues and the Secret Service won’t allow him to have outdoor rallies anymore.
Guess sucking up all those donations to pay his legal bills has worked out quite well for him.

That change at R50 doesn't seem to be due to any particular economic news or policy statement, unless I've missed something. I assume it's just due to a general loss of confidence in Trump's ability to handle anything, fed by his repetitive ramblings and lack of visibility.

[quote]As Ms. Harris — long ridiculed and underestimated — has transformed the contest, campaigning energetically and drawing roughly even with Mr. Trump in many polls, Mr. Trump has responded with one unforced error after another while struggling to land on an effective and consistent argument against her.
The holy God-damned [italic]New York Times[/italic] strikes again with the false equivalencies. They are not "drawing even"; Harris is ahead nationally (which I know means nothing so don't go there) and ahead in 4 or 5 (depending on the pollster) of 7 swing states, and 3 of those are outside of the margin of error. She is ahead in the polls, period.
[quote]But Mr. Trump has also been whipsawed by a seven-week roller-coaster-ride of events: an attempt on his life, the selection of a running mate, a nominating convention, his opponent’s withdrawal from the race, the entry of a galvanizing new rival, a potential Iranian assassination threat against him and new layers of security that have brought a bunker-like feel to his properties, more than at any time since he was in the White House.
And then they decline to comment on any of this being weird. Weird that Trump has now gone through 4 of those 7 events that should have resulted in at least a bump in the polls if not outright taking a determinative lead. Weird that the actual assassination attempt has been memory-holed by the Republicans. Weird that they held a coronation and forgot to celebrate it. Weird that the FBI (who are, according to Trump, incompetent) uncovered an Iranian plot to assassinate him and he's treating it like a nothingburger. And it's weird that he's holed up at MAGA-Lardo and playing golf while Harris and Walz hold rallies in all of the swing states, and not just rallies that can be dismissed as small and inconsequential. When you get 12,000 people to show up at Vegas' Thomas & Mack Arena in 108-degree heat (but you have to give it to Coach Walz turning the "but it's a dry heat" joke back in a way that made everybody laugh), and they have to close the entrances and send the estimated 4000 people in line home because it was just too damn hot, it's a sign that the momentum has done a complete turnaround. Weird.
[quote]Ms. Harris “has gotten the equivalent of the largest in-kind contribution of free media I think I have ever seen in all the years I’ve been doing presidential campaigns,” said Tony Fabrizio, the Trump campaign’s chief pollster.
I guess Tony has only become aware of politics in the US in the last month because Trump has for years and continues to receive free media every damn day. Just look at his "press conference" that all three of the cable news networks carried live and in full with zero real-time fact checking. And then they wouldn't cover Kamala's speech the AUW despite knowing exactly when she would speak, that it would be a short speech, and she was likely to make some news speaking about Trump's betrayal of the autoworkers' union just as they were negotiating a great new contract.
Prosecutor Harris and Coach Walz have knocked Trump and MAGA not just on their heels but flat on their asses. And the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times[/italic] doesn't like it one bit. Weird, weird, weird.

I can’t help that I keep coming back to…how to punish the media? I want us to punish the NYT. I think they can still course correct before the election, but first we need to de-pants them. Is there a particular reporter we could humiliate?
I actually am not kidding about de-pantsing. De-pants the boys, snap the bras of the girls, and post to SM.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | August 12, 2024 3:22 PM |
It's pretty clear that Biden was fully aware that the NYT is in the bag for Trump and refused to give them an interview. Sulzberger was so incensed that he set his flying monkeys free to destroy Biden.... which they successfully did with a daily, above-the-fold "he's old" story in an update to "but her emails" from 8 years ago, keeping the narrative alive even after the Republicans had given up post SOTU. And then Biden's performance at the debate gave the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times[/italic] prescience on the matter and that was that. The forces — Republicans [italic]and[/italic] the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times[/italic] — aligned in a once-in-an-election-cycle convergence, It was game over for Biden and the Democrats.
I don't blame the Republicans. All is fair in love and war... and US elections. I do blame the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times.[/italic] They are supposed to be the adults in the room, objective if not unbiased, and above the fray. But now, after two election cycles and being mired in a third in which they clearly and unambiguously want Trump in the White House and I say enough is enough. I agree with R65. They must be punished, only I'm not content with pantsing and bra-snapping.
We need to be careful, however; they still hold way too much power to do anything before the election. So it's fact checking, social media posts, and staying vigilant in the face of the lies, omissions and obfuscations from the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times[/italic] until the day after the election, and then it's gloves off. Everyone, and I mean everyone, should cancel their subscriptions in a coordinated effort. Every one of their reports, columnists, and staff should be publicly shunned. Invitations to cover big events should go out to everyone except anyone associated with the holy God-damned [italic]New York Times.[/italic] People who work for them should be ostracized, and sadly that includes everyone from Sulzberger to the boys who deliver the papers in driveways. Advertisers should be boycotted if they continue to show up on the pages of the old grey lady.
It's time — almost — to starve the beast.

Sulzberger is at the very least 3rd generation NY Times wealth/nepo baby. He went to probate school with all the politicians he fibers. He’s been dining with them, hanging out with them since he was a child. Majority of writers for NY Times are at least 2nd generation nepos (Maggie Haberman, Tatiana Schlossberg). The rightwing hacks Sulzberger publishes on his opinion pages are caught in lies (Douthat, Bari Weiss, David Brooks) but nothing is done to them. If they were liberal they would’ve been fired.
The rich take care of the rich. They go to same restaurants, galas, fundraisers, vacation spots. They wine and dine politicians. Third generation wealth = conservative (“cut my taxes now”)

by Anonymous | reply 74 | August 12, 2024 5:39 PM |
I refreshed my memory was listening to 2 interview with Maggie Haberman from 2022. In those interview, she gives a good read on Trump, she suggest how the media could have covered him better in 2016, she speaks in detail about his lies, lies and more lies. She even categorized his lies since there could be 50 lies in one phone call ranging from the throwaway fast lie (I wasn't watching tv last night) to the outrageous (Obama tapped his phone).
Well, here we are and the NYT still cannot cover Trump. They have actually regressed. They are covering this like it's a civilized Hayley/Harris battle on the future of each party. The podcast on this article is infuriating!!! They have edited Trump to make him sound less unhinged, emmitted his most outrageous lies and spent a chuck of time analyzing Harris' 'word salad'.

I know it's obvious, but Dems HAVE to get out in and deliver a decisive ballot box victory.
Seriously, I don't trust the Republican elections certifiers to be honest. But an overwhelming knockout punch will make them think twice and three and four times before they attempt any shenanigans.
It's one thing for them to cheat for a razor thin difference, but it's another to try to cheat a landslide.

Assuming he does the debate with Harris on ABC and expecting between then and during it he cannot behave himself. Then further expecting she not only wins the debate but finds and successfully executes several opportunities to corner him during the debate... is there a point some Republicans start to torpedo him, in a bid to save their reputations in the long term? Funnily enough, I'm thinking of Miz Lindsay, who will do and say anything and who I think is discredited beyond salvage, but I wouldn't put it beyond that needy old cunt to strike first. But will Republicans who haven't broken ranks and who are taking the long view abandon him early? Wishful thinking, maybe, but I'd so like to see him alone in the bunker, abandoned by the party he cowed.

Are they readying Junior or DIL Lara to take on the mantle? Or someone else. Will the sane wing of the party be able to wrest control back from the MAGAs?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | August 12, 2024 7:29 PM |
That's what's scaring the Republicunts, R82: a landslide for Harris that no one will be able to question. And it's beginning to show signs of a Harris landslide. She's ahead in 4 of the 7 swing states and we have only begun to see the VP-pick bump; we still have the convention bump coming. As someone on Fox that I saw posted on Threads said (in horrified tone), Harris looks to taking a statistical lead right now and headed to a commanding lead by the time the convention concludes and the country gets a full introduction to her, Coach Walz, and their warm and welcome message of bringing joy back to politics (along with a healthy dose of accountability for the biggest liar, loser and con man this country has ever seen... and the people who love him).
It's time to turn the page on MAGA and relegate Trump to the dust bin of history.

Unless Merchan has decided that Trump can't be held to account — which will only infuriate Democrats and drive them to the polls with even greater vigor — I doubt that he'll go through with the process, instead issuing another postponement. Surely, Trump's garbage-pail lawyers have already filed for another delay. And frankly, Merchan should have not set the sentencing hearing before the election because no matter how he decides, he'll be accused of election interference.
Merchan can sentence Trump on November 6, set any date for sentencing appeal hearing after January 20 next year, and take him out of commission at least until Kamala is seated, quashing the planned election-deniers efforts. It would be a glorious day in the history books to watch Trump marched out of court in handcuffs after losing the election. And then any future court appearances can be in an orange jumpsuit.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | August 12, 2024 7:48 PM |
R82 People don’t understand. It is very hard for an election to be stolen that way. A vast network of people would have to be paid off which is impossible because there are going to be people working from the opposite party as well. It’s just impossible. Each step of the way there is someone on the “opposing side” that would be involved. The only time the election was stolen was in 1960. And it was legally stolen in 2000. It is impossible to steal the election via the poll workers because of the safeguards we have put in place. Someone is watching them and a camera is watching them all. Repubs know this. Democrats know it too but they don’t need to steal an election with today’s demographics. Repubs know this so very well that is why the “stealing” has to be in voter turnout. If they pass voter id laws and limit absentee ballots date athat can essentially steal it that way.

I also saw a pic of the piles of signs that the various groups prepared and left unused because so few showed up.

Respected journalist Judy Woodruff announces that Donald Trump has been personally calling Bibi, urging him to refuse a ceasefire or hostage exchange because it would help Kamala Harris' campaign for the presidency.
That selfish, inhuman monster is urging more unnecessary bloodshed, more rape, more torture, and more destruction so he can have a better chance of becoming a dictator and staying out of jail, for crimes he committed against America and it's citizens.
Zero follow up by the media. None. The posters standing up for CNN, NYT, et al. can go gargle Putin's ballsack.
"I don't know man, you'd think reporting by a well-established journo like Judy Woodruff (at about the 30 second mark) that Trump is telling Bibi not to sign a cease fire agreement would be the kind of thing that might garner some follow up among her colleagues in the media."

by Anonymous | reply 149 | August 21, 2024 1:11 PM |
You mean the assassination attempt that they staged?
Come on R149. The kid was a registered MAGA Republican incel with a father who owned an AR-15 for fun. He was an easy mark for the MAGAloons to find and convince to take a pot shot at Mango Mussolini, telling him to miss by a mile and that he'd be hailed as a hero for giving Cheeto that image meant to be iconic but a fail because it has this large orange turd stain in the middle. And that image was the point. Don't tell me the Secret Service was cool with moving Shitler a mere 20 feet to the right in perfect position for that huge flag waving in the background, blood dripping down his face thanks to the razor blade he had in his pocket (an old professional wrestling trick) and then allow him to stand up, raise a fist, and be photographed with near perfect symmetry and composition. The Secret Service — at least 34's assigned agents — would have never done such a shitty job if they had no assurances that the gunman was working alone and had been neutralized.
There is a reason that we have heard [italic]nothing[/italic] about the assassination attempt from Dotard's doctors, the State Police, the FBI and Republicans in general. And no, the orange one's skin does not heal so fast that a mere week after his ear "being pierced by a bullet!!!" there's no sign it was hurt.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | August 21, 2024 1:53 PM |
I'm not ready to go full 'they found and convinced the kid' but I will say that keeping the ex president on stage and then removing him using only SS agents as human shields was suspect as fuck. If there was a second guy out there (maybe in the audience) with an AR-15 then several SS agents and Dump could have become liquid soup. So they had to know with 100% certainty that the kid was alone - which suggests they saw him and gave him enough space to fire some shots.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | August 21, 2024 2:01 PM |
I still find it suspicious too
by Anonymous | reply 152 | August 21, 2024 2:04 PM |
Orange Jebus had held rallies at that exact farm multiple times, and in all prior instances the barn/shed that the gunman climbed and used as his platform had always been protected by the Secret Service. It is standard threat mitigation protocol to cover any platform that has line-of-site access to the protectee. There are only two reasons there were no agents stationed on the roof of that shed: 1) the SS detail didn't have the resources to perform their required duties which, given that he's a former POTUS, is highly unlikely (and you would have heard the Repulikkkans scream bloody murder if there wasn't budget to protect their profit); or 2) it was by design. Kimberly Cheatle was sacrificed to cover it all up.

Trump's going to keep getting worse because he knows he's losing. The only way he won't lose is if he cheats.

"Trump budget would spike deficits by nearly 5 times Harris proposal, says Penn Wharton

The Trump and Harris campaigns are in a race to paint the other side as an economic danger, each trying to win over voters fatigued by the higher cost of living..."

R206 To me it’s just one of those things we have to accept because it’s unconstitutional. Stop and frisk actually works. Giuliani is right. The shit just works. . But as a young black man it’s still unconstitutional. I think of that small young brother who was innocent and got caught up in Rikers. He was so damaged he took his own life after being released. I cried when I saw his documentary. Just like no guns would prevent gun violence buts in the Constitution Maga cunts, so deal with it.
