Fast food, drive-thru lobster rolls.
Has anyone ever tried it?
I can't believe it's only $9.99 for a lobster roll.

We need more businesses like this, to provide value at a reasonable cost.
This is thinking out of the box!
And the lobster looks delicious.

R2 watch the video. Apparently real, caught by their own operation.

Lobster rolls are the biggest scam on Cape Cod and they always have been.
Current prices can be 40 bucks per roll. Or more.
Lobsters are not scarce and can currently be bought at the supermarket for 9.99/pound or less.
Good for Angies'. This is just more exposure of blatant price gouging.

I’ve had them in Tempe. It was actually pretty decent. Drive thru only. Very strongly request non cash payment.
Sandwich, good amount of fries and a medium sized drink for under $10.

In the video at R2, someone in the comments section posted that it's already up to $10.99 at Angie's.
But they also said it's still a good deal for the price because it's a huge sandwich.
Also, you have to "bus" and clean your own tables, and no cash payments accepted. This helps to keep costs down.

How do they do it for that price? They say it's from Maine, hard to believe it's not imported.

The video at R1 explains everything.
There's no middleman.
They catch their own product, they own the dock, and they own the processing plant in Maine.
All they have to do is ship the product to their restaurants.
Then they further reduce costs by card only transactions on electronic menus, and then you clean up after yourself.
By doing these things, they cut out the middlemen and also the need for counter service cashiers.
Basically, all they need is a kitchen staff to prepare the food.

New Englanders, they're $12.99 at D'Angelos.

You get what you pay for.

The prices are very reasonable.
I wish I had one in my city.

Sure.
And a half-hour later you're reaching for your Rollaids.

I always thought "Angie's Lobster" referred to her labia.

No, that would be "Angie's Clam."
Or "Angie's Bearded Clam," to be more precise.

Alas, when the inevitable expansion into Texas, it'll be like every other chain - Austin first for the cred, then Dallas for the revenue, then after an excruciatingly long wait, to my town, Houston. I want a lobster roll now!

Nah - these lobsters are probably from Baja California (Mexico) or Sonora. I doubt they're flying these in from New England and able to keep those prices.
Arizona is really close and driving distance to both.
Same with oysters - they try to pass of Baja oysters for "East Coast" oysters - but it's bullshit.
Won't eat those things - the sewage in those waters is at extremely high levels.

I've had them. They're good, much better than the ones they sell at Costco.
