YouTube has been monkeying with things on their end for a few weeks now as part of their war against ad blockers. I've noticed it takes forever for their pages to load lately. Last month there would be periods when I couldn't load any of their pages, but if I tried on a different browser without ad blockers it would work fine. As R7 said, this could be causing the thumbnail problem here on DL.

I wish they'd get over this nonsense. I'd be happy to pay a monthly fee for YouTube, but not $14. It's not like Google is hurting for money.

YouTube video thumbnails/previews show on DL for me.

Only some previews for youtube videos show for me now. On one of the music video threads, it's like 50/50. Some of the ones I can't see are the ones I've put up myself.

Then, there's still the idiotic thing about youtube shorts that won't show at all until you go in and turn previews 'off.'

I just skip posts with YouTube links. Can’t be fucked. Give me something to read as a lot of the time I’m surfing DL where sound is not an option.

I've also been having recent trouble (coinciding with this issue) when I speak into my remote for my streaming box and try to bring up YouTube videos. Used to bring the video right up, or the host site if that's what I asked for. Now it gives me some stupid screen with a search alphabet and a lot of unrelated videos.

There's another issue I've been wondering about and didn't want to start a thread on it. I noticed that I can only pay monthly, not yearly anymore. Anyone else notice this? Anyone know why?

R16 The last time I paid, they still billed me for an annual subscription. And the future bill is already listed on my account page for an annual term with it showing the date I will be billed and the term it will run for, which is showing a full year.

Yup, that's how it was for me too, r22. But my year expired and the only option available to me was "pay monthly". Consequently I can only renew a month at a time at the moment.

I should also mention that it didn't auto renew because I don't keep payment info on here. Not sure if it would have auto renewed me for a full year if I had a card on file. I don't store my card info on any websites.

I signed up for automatic yearly renewal but was surprised they don't email about taking the money, as most companies do.
