always make me laugh. I'm babysitting a friend's cat and he just did it. So silly!
How nice for you to enjoy upset cats.
And "op" was just stupid, you mincing animal abuser.

R1, do not be ridiculous. All of those cats looked healthy and in most cases, they were just surprised or playing. There isn't any need to become hysterical over a silly compilation.

r1 is why we can't have nice dollface threads.

I love that they're trying to look scary and yet they look so ridiculous.

Dollface thread.

They make me laugh, too.

OP likes to call deserving people "assholes" on the few posts she's done on this thread, all of them deserving.
I just thought she'd enjoy a real R1 for a change, since she's so.... you know.

My boys never do this, but they do get puffy tails if roused
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 1, 2024 6:30 PM |
I think Simone Biles could do that.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 1, 2024 6:33 PM |
I had a tiny kitten who would do that to his mother. She was having none of it.

I have 3 cats and none of them have ever done this.
Well 1 has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, so he hops like a bunny.
But what about the other 2?
Should they be tested? Are they developmentally behind the other kitties?
Do I have 3 special kitties? I thought it was only 1.

Those are happy, healthy cats, enjoying life. We should all be so lucky.

Hysterical when Kittens do it.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 1, 2024 8:13 PM |
Yeah r17. My sister had a little black thing called Ripley who loved my sister's little Toto style dog Coco. Most hilarious crab walk ever. Play all day. And that little dog Coco was the best kitten babysitter ever. She was raised by a cat.

Darn, the memories. My favorite cat was straight out of a Warner Bros. cartoon: her back would arch, her hair would stand on end, and she’d tip-toe sideways. She would even frantically run in place if she was on a polished wooden floor. She was the best. 😢

This thread reminds me of the most hilarious story: I was walking my two biggest dogs (rescue lab mixes so don’t worry, rescue dog brigade) down a nearby street when two cats on opposing driveways came arching/dancing/prancing down their respective driveways towards us. I couldn’t stop laughing - they looked like matadors!
We weren’t really near either cat, so to see them jump into position and come after us was so hilarious.

R1, Cats that jump sideways with arched backs aren't necessarily upset, they are often playing. I've owned several cats over the years and they all did it when they were kittens. All of them happy and loved, NEVER abused.
The cat I'm babysitting is 5 years old and full of energy and very playful. He was zooming around then switched to the sideways hop. It was hilarious.

My one year old 18 lb guy does it all the time. He's ever so tuff 'n' fierce! 🤣🤣❤❤😼😺
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 1, 2024 8:53 PM |
18 years old. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to treat him well, KittyDyke. My old buddy Mook lived to 22. They're such great friends in those golden age years.

Eighteen pounds in weight, r23. He's just over one year old.

These always make me laugh. One if my cats does it and I tell him, “run sideways with your tail in an S!”

R30, seek help and discover it's too late.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 2, 2024 1:05 PM |
R31, I know. I called it sideways jumping arched back kitties in my post but it comes up sometimes as crabwalk in links. Maybe because of the sideways aspect.
