He also never does sequels, plus the show's expected to turn into an anthology series. Unclear how that'll work out, but Jake won't be in it, either.

Season 2? Whaaaat?

Good for him. He's interested in challenging his acting abilities, and not just in making money.

R2, they announced it even before the season finale aired. And, again, it'll be akin to "True Detective," with a new set of characters & actors each season. There's technically a sequel book, "Innocent," that Scott Turow published 25 years after the original – except it's also *set* 25 years in the future, when Rusty is a chief judge on a state appellate panel and his now-ex-wife, Barbara, turns up dead. Note that she was also the killer in the original. I don't see how they can update it to fit everything added in the miniseries, which is quite a bit. (The book has literally zero female characters aside from Barbara & Carolyn, and Rusty & Barbara only have one child, a son who's barely mentioned.)
