A colorful visit with Ethel Mae’s daddy in Albuquerque on our way to Hollywood. Everybody knows Mr Potter is full of bologna according to Fred (aka Curly).
Lucy got the idea to tell Carolyn Appleby and everyone else that she was going to be in a movie from Ethel.

The dress at r7 is so much more flattering than her Emmy dress from the same year.

"Ethel's Hometown" is high on the list of funniest or best episodes of the ILL series.
The humor is so based in the characters whom we know so well by now and the cast understands why it is funny from the start. People always mention the chocolate factory episode which barely registers with me, it's just typical silliness, and I think this episode and many others are far funnier.

Why didn't Fred and Ethel have children?
Where was Ethel's mother? Were her parents divorced? In "Lucy does a TV Commercial," Ethel is "visiting her mother" -- presumably in the Northeast. And Ethel had other family members in New York -- Uncle Oscar and Uncle Elmo.
So many unanswered questions.
