I mean... she couldn't not. Maya as Kamala is one of the better politicians SNL has ever done. This will be entertaining.

How wonderful I just love her- what character she will be performing?

by Anonymousreply 2July 31, 2024 4:02 PM

The only good thing she's done.

by Anonymousreply 3July 31, 2024 4:05 PM

Reading comprehension, R2.

by Anonymousreply 4July 31, 2024 4:09 PM

R3 she is one of the funniest women in the history of SNL.

Maya is a beyond brilliant comedienne, but is a hit-and-miss impressionist. But her Kamala, Beyoncé and Phylicia Rashad are flawless, no-notes perfect.

I recently rewatched this. Maya was fantastic.

r6, I also give her kudos for her Donatella Versace and for her Willona on "Good Times."

Her Dionne Warwick is nothing like the real woman, but kills me every time.

Anyone know which cast members are not returning this season ? I wouldn't mind if Michael Che didn't return.

by Anonymousreply 11August 1, 2024 12:19 AM

She’s one of the funniest SNL alum

I can't stand Maya Rudolph. Overrated and smug.

by Anonymousreply 13August 1, 2024 12:38 AM

She was so pretty when she was younger, but she really had lost her looks as she aged.

But Punkie Johnson is not.

This was certainly a new brainer. Reminds me of another SNL performer born to play a certain politician: Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton. Chevy Chase as Ford and Dan Ackroyd as Carter were funny, but their impersonations were more cartoonish and caricature. Oh, and Dana Carvey also did a great George Bush Sr.

I only recently learned on Youtube that her mother was Minnie Riperton, probably best known for the hit 70s song "Lovin' You". Not even Mariah Carey could reach those notes.
