This teen with major depression
I am fascinated by him.
His name is James, and he has made over 100 videos talking about depression, and suicide, and bisexuality, and his parents never knew about it. I think he also trashed his dad a few times in his videos.
Recently though, his father discovered his videos and watched all of them.
James said that he's not worried that his father watched his videos, and that he's fine with it. Followed by a *gulp* and then another one.
Clearly, he's worried about it, and proceeds to speak directly to the camera to tell his dad how great he is, and how much James admires him.
James is off to college in the Fall, and I'm worried because he said that now he'll be independent, and "whatever he chooses to do" will be on him.
This kid is very intelligent, and very insightful.
I also feel so sorry for him that he suffers from such low self esteem, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
I just hope he keeps taking his meds, and doesn't do anything stupid.

No, R3.
It's rare that you find someone so open about mental illness, and the way that he expresses himself really makes you understand what he's going through.
We only ever hear about the "aftermath" of what happens when teens are dealing with mental illness. And there's usually not a good outcome.
In this case, we're seeing his ups and downs in real time, and watching his video journal describing what's going on in his head.
And yes, I do find that fascinating.
It's like letting the whole world hear what normally only his psychiatrist would hear.
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's definitely compelling to watch.
