I have never really agreed with any listicle but this one is pretty fair.

by Anonymousreply 1July 30, 2024 9:00 PM

Same, rescue-chick. First music list I agree with.

by Anonymousreply 2July 30, 2024 9:20 PM

I like Oasis but Liam can be quite annoying.

by Anonymousreply 3July 30, 2024 9:26 PM

I would add Chris Martin (he just bugs me)

The dude from Lost Prophets is a whole other level of horror than insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 4July 30, 2024 9:30 PM

Vince Neil? He's not my favorite and he sings unintelligibly now, but other than that, I don't see a problem.

by Anonymousreply 5July 30, 2024 9:36 PM

Axel Rose is a pig. 🐷 He should have made the list.

by Anonymousreply 6July 30, 2024 9:40 PM

There should be honorable mentions for Ozzy Osbourne and Steven Tyler.

by Anonymousreply 7July 30, 2024 9:47 PM

I'll probably get shot, but I'd add Billy Corgan to that list and subtract Vince Neil. Not saying he's a good human but as a lead singer he doesn't bother me.

by Anonymousreply 8July 30, 2024 9:52 PM

Billy Corgan's got that whiney, nagging voice. So, good choice.

Courtney Love said that The Who really didn't need Roger Daltrey (as Peter Townsend was a proficient singer), but they brought in RD as eye candy, only (Townsend being too "ugly" for a rock band). I think she makes a valid point.

by Anonymousreply 9July 30, 2024 9:56 PM

Axl Rose was an amazing front man for Guns N Roses in the '80s and '90s. Not just the freak voice, but his on-stage moves and presence. Who knew that he and Lisa Marie Presley were good friends.

Here he is singing November Rain LIVE (sounds so awful, it can't by sync'd). His voice sounds shot to hell.

Quite surprising that Timberlake didn’t make the list.

by Anonymousreply 11July 30, 2024 10:02 PM

Yeah, Billy has a longtime rep for being a jerk. Liam Gallagher sucks and his music sucks too.

Anthony Kiedis is a bit of a douchebag too.

by Anonymousreply 12July 30, 2024 10:19 PM

R3 = Noel Gallagher

by Anonymousreply 13July 30, 2024 10:32 PM

Joe Cocker

by Anonymousreply 14July 30, 2024 10:34 PM

I do think that insufferable and shitty are two different things. I don't think Vince deserves to be on the list (after thinking it over) because he's not insufferable. Glen Fry and Don Henley are both insufferable and shitty. I think Sting is insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 15July 30, 2024 10:39 PM

liam gallagher should be number one

by Anonymousreply 16July 30, 2024 10:58 PM

Let’s be Scott Stapp, I’m the downfall.

by Anonymousreply 17July 30, 2024 11:18 PM

I would probably put David Lee Roth at 9.5… hell, let’s just say 11.

by Anonymousreply 18July 30, 2024 11:22 PM

Glad to see Vince Neil's name and reputation being restored on DL.

by Anonymousreply 19July 30, 2024 11:24 PM

An excellent list, not comprehensive but accurate

by Anonymousreply 20July 30, 2024 11:32 PM

Morissey and Bono do NOT belong on this list. I can easily come up with 20-30 names to replace them

by Anonymousreply 21July 30, 2024 11:35 PM

All of these people are more annoying than Morrissey

by Anonymousreply 22July 30, 2024 11:36 PM

Bono is the biggest cunt on the planet. He should be #1.

by Anonymousreply 23July 30, 2024 11:36 PM

Miss Diane Ross

by Anonymousreply 24July 30, 2024 11:36 PM

[quote] Morissey and Bono do NOT belong on this list.

They are the poster children of the list, you twit.

by Anonymousreply 25July 30, 2024 11:37 PM

r4 Chris Martin is a good one. I always found Coldplay's music very boring, And Chris is the opposite of handsome.

by Anonymousreply 26July 30, 2024 11:38 PM

Axel Rose sounds like Ethan Merman now

by Anonymousreply 27July 30, 2024 11:38 PM

R21 = Irish Minister of Culture

by Anonymousreply 28July 30, 2024 11:40 PM

Morrissey isnt annoying he’s just dramatic

by Anonymousreply 29July 30, 2024 11:42 PM

R15 Both of them were horrible to the other band members.

by Anonymousreply 30July 31, 2024 12:14 AM

Fun list and start, OP.

by Anonymousreply 31July 31, 2024 12:22 AM

Morrissey may be an ass but The Smiths are the best band of my generation. He doesn’t belong on here.

by Anonymousreply 32July 31, 2024 1:13 AM

Just came here to make sure Bono was listed. Even my grandmother thought he was a twat when she met him and he was just a teenager then.

Good list.

by Anonymousreply 33July 31, 2024 2:28 PM

R10, I love Guns N' Roses and Axl but that was horrendous. It barely sounds like English.

by Anonymousreply 34July 31, 2024 2:36 PM

Being insufferable as a person and having talent aren't exclusive. I happen to like a lot of the output of some of these men, but it doesn't mean they aren't jerks.

Roger Waters needs to be on here too. Dreadful man. 🤮

by Anonymousreply 35July 31, 2024 3:31 PM

Ted Nugent. Prince, Michael Jackson.

by Anonymousreply 36July 31, 2024 3:50 PM

Jon Anderson of YES

by Anonymousreply 37July 31, 2024 3:58 PM

R36 caught Ted. Good job. That asshole needs to be close to number one, but not number one.. It would go to his melon.

by Anonymousreply 38July 31, 2024 4:12 PM

R26 And his ugly daughter looks just like him.

by Anonymousreply 39July 31, 2024 4:41 PM

Stewart Copeland, the drummer for the Police, said he set up his drum kit so he didn't have to see Sting while they were on tour. He just focused on how much money they were taking in.

by Anonymousreply 40July 31, 2024 8:01 PM

R35 David Gilmour does way more lead vocals than Roger Waters and always did

by Anonymousreply 41July 31, 2024 8:13 PM

For reasons unknown, Jools Holland had Al Green and David Gilmour on the same show. Al sang "Let's Stay Together" and was amazing. Jools could only stare at Al with amazement. Frankly, Al's voice sounded like he had a bit of a cold, but Al at 85% is still better than most.

On top of that Jools pumped up the piano part (he plays piano). Then, the horns (3 different players, IIRC).

Gilmour's guitar got lost in the crowd.

At the end of the song, Gilmour acts almost like the applause was all for him. He's nuts.

Jools should have featured Gilmour in a separate thing or not at all.

No Dave Matthews?

by Anonymousreply 43August 3, 2024 7:23 AM

Boy George

by Anonymousreply 44August 3, 2024 1:54 PM

Bono owns this list.
