Living stars only, please.
Which series would you like to see rebooted?

They did already reboot Dexter with a satisfying ending this time.

I was fascinated by Penny Dreadful and then poof! Something similiar I would appreciate.

For years, I wanted to see Ellen relaunched, and see what Ellen Morgan is up to these days.
Now…not so much.

r1 That wasn't a reboot, it was continuation, taking place a decade after the events of the original show.
There are also two new shows from the Dexter universe (eugh) in the works: a prequel starring the beautiful Patrick Gibson, and another continuation of the first continuation with MCH, set in the present day.

r3 They tried going the anthology route with Penny Dreadful, but it failed miserably. John Logan had exactly one show in him.

Desperate Housewives. A new crowd on Wisteria Lane, with a few old faces sprinkled throughout.

Mad TV, please. I wonder how the original cast has aged. Will Sasso, Nicole Sullivan, Alex Borstein, Michael McDonald could still do it; don't know about the others.

You forgot Debra Wilson.

Designing Women
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 30, 2024 6:27 AM |
None of them. For fuck's sake, somebody have an original idea.

I hit Madtv but I wanted Will & Grace.
I like to see Karen replaced with Jack's guy & the 4 of them go thru new England for the summer sightseeing & getting into their usual trouble.
I think this would be a better way to showcase the gust stars that the show was known for.
Like get a star that was born or lived part of their life in Vermont when they drive to it (Poor Treat Williams would've been great for that state).
They could make it an annual event & just say that Karen is living in Europe now happy as a clam.

^ Like for the 2nd road trip season (without Karen) they would go to the south & maybe Vanna White could show up in her native South Carolina when they 'drive" thru that one.
A road trip thru Canada would also be a unique season.

Apologies for flaunting the 'Living stars only' rule. I'd like to see a pre-quel to the Waltons.
It's 1920. John is the only one of Grampa and Gramma Walton's three sons to survive the war.
Grief-stricken Gramma, desperate to get to heaven to be with her sons, becomes a follower of a backwoods preacher who preaches that salvation can only come when the races are joined together in equality. This causes trouble in in the county. It doesn't help that Gramma is attracted to the preacher's sensibly shod wife.
Grampa has signed the business and the property over to John, his one remaining child, and tries to walk a middle ground on the race issue while hiding away chewing the resin from the poppies he grows on the mountain. He is keeping the secret that when he was a teenager, he took part in a brutal lynching to impress an older boy he had a crush on. (he and gramma know about each others proclivities)
John's experiences in the war have convinced him that the races are equal, but as young man with a growing family, he can't risk losing any business.
Olivia believes that everyone is fine as it is and that there's no need to stir up trouble. As the new 'Lady of the house' she constantly locks horns with gramma
Oh and one of those deceased Walton brothers left behind a pregnant black teenager when he enlisted. Gramma unintentionally causes trouble for her and her family by insisting on publicly treating the baby as her granddaughter.

The 2015 BBC cop drama, "Cuffs."
It got chopped right after it's first season due to the budget axe that hit the broadcaster in early 2016.
It had a great ensemble cast and an intriguing gay storyline within it as cute rookie cop, Jake, began a passionate affair with somewhat sketchy defense attorney, Simon.

Will and Grace without Rosario and Beverly Leslie would be sinful.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 30, 2024 9:27 PM |
Well Rosario is dead in real life & Bev recently joined her in a crash landing. so...

In the West Village this week, "King of Queens" reboot is clogging up our streets with vans and trucks.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 31, 2024 12:00 AM |
They already did a reboot of Will & Grace in 2017, 12 episodes. It was just okay at best.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 31, 2024 2:06 AM |
^ It lasted until the fall of 2019 right before Covid hit.
