Will Trump Drop Vance?: Part 2

If Dump is going to drop Vance, he only has 8 days left to do it.

The thugs running this state would stop the earth from turning if the fat orange sloppy cunt told them to. It doesn’t matter what the law says. Be serious.
Laws only apply to DEMOCRATS and little people.

Chuck Schumer 73, needled Trump over the deadline and suggested that he may want to select another running mate by the deadline. “The president has about 10 days — 10 days before the Ohio ballot is locked in. And he has a choice: does he keep Vance on the ticket?” Schumer taunted. “Or does he pick someone new?”
When asked about Schumer’s swipe, Trump campaign communication director Steven Cheung said the former president is “thrilled” with his pick.
“They are the perfect team to take back the White House. Meanwhile, Democrats are in complete disarray after their coup that forcibly removed Biden from the campaign, proving they are the real threats to democracy,” Chueng said in a statement.

Why should MAGAts care? They think dump gas it in the bag because he and his network of traitors have been placing their sleeper cells all over the country to try and steal the election.
He tells them at every one of his cult gatherings that he’s going to “fix it” so they won’t have to vote anymore. They’re stupid enough to believe that it’s a good thing.
So, no, they don’t care.

This is something I think about: whether or not, if elected, Trump would actually go at the end of a second term. I don't take the nephew's word as gospel but it doesn't sound unbelievable, either.
Donald Trump is a vindictive man who poses a threat to the constitutional underpinnings of the United States, including the limits it places on presidential terms, his nephew is warning.
For a man whose life has been haunted by a fear of losing, the results of the 2020 election stung deeply, transforming him into a dangerous candidate who, four years later, is eager to settle scores, Fred C. Trump III, the former president’s nephew, said Tuesday.
“He is a vengeful person, and he will follow through” on threats to exact retribution, Mr. Trump said in an interview.
He spoke with The Globe and Mail on the day his new book, All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, went on sale. Mr. Trump, a long-time Democratic Party voter, has endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
He worries that his uncle will refuse to relinquish the White House if he is successful in winning a return to office in this November’s election. The U.S. Constitution constrains presidents to two terms. But Donald Trump is “fully capable of moving forward with anything that will keep him in office,” Mr. Trump said.
“I don’t know the mechanism he would use,” he added. But “I think everyone should be fearful of that.”
When Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, he did so as an outsider to a political apparatus that maintained considerable influence. Eight years later, he has largely sculpted the Republican Party in his own image, installing his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair of the Republican National Committee and making himself a kingmaker in the selection of candidates across the country.
“Do I fear for democracy and freedoms that we have now? Yeah I do,” his nephew said. “It’s not hyperbole. He has surrounded himself with just very dangerous people with dangerous thoughts.” The establishment leaders who occupied president Trump’s cabinet and advisory ranks during his first term are gone – and those now at Donald Trump’s side “are going to let him run free,” Mr. Trump said.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 31, 2024 3:16 PM |
Jesus. After what happened when he lost the 2020 election, do we really need to compile more evidence that Trump is a vengeful (I would add "unhinged") and dangerous threat to democracy? Are people's memories really that short?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 31, 2024 8:28 PM |
The only way Vance goes is if he is forced out by Trump lwaking some scandalous background info. Trump can't just say, "Oops, I made a mistake." No nominee would do that.

I'm sure Trump is this close to choosing one of his playground names for Vance, then to let the chips fall as they may. But also his grotesque ego loathes the very idea of 'sharing a ticket', and even discussing his VP pulls focus from the supreme leader he imagines himself to be.

Yes, R97, election deniers in swing states refusing to certify election results are Trump's only hope now. It's obvious he's going to massively lose the popular vote. If a couple swing states can't be certified, it'll go to a corrupt Supreme Court, which will throw the election to Trump in about 5 minutes. The question is how the swing states can keep those election deniers honest.

So we better make damned sure we are controlling the House and not Mike Johnson and his hardliners. We must get the damned House and Senate. Harris will not get anything done if we do not control Congress. They will obstruct her every chance they get. Now if, on January 6th we have the certification vote and we control Congress it will last 5 minutes and we can get on with the business of government.

Trump's not going to dump J.D.for one reason. J.D. is bringing in money from the Venture capitalists and Silicon Valley types. Trump is predictable. His ego tells him the VP doesn't matter. He is all that matters. And money matters. Whatever Trump got from Theil and is getting from Theil and Vance is all that matters. He gives less than a fuck if the Republican Party "likes " Vance or the MAGAs who he has nothing but contempt for care for Vance.

Even if Trump begged Nikki Haley to be on the ticket, I would hope at this point that she would turn him down...wouldn't she?
by Anonymous | reply 124 | August 2, 2024 4:17 PM |
You're forgetting you're talking about an invertebrate, R124.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | August 2, 2024 4:21 PM |
No, she wouldn't, r124.
But in the obscene event that Trump is elected, and Haley is VP, he better have his Big Macs screened for foreign substances.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | August 2, 2024 4:31 PM |
His whole brand is hiring the best people, I can't see him dropping Vance at all. He's already said the VP doesn't matter, so what difference does it make if it's Vance or someone else, really.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | August 2, 2024 4:42 PM |
Trump really wants to win, to stay out of prison. He is weighing that Thiel money against the probability that he and Vance will lose.

Trump conventional wisdom, that Trump never makes a mistake, had painted itself into a corner that no news cycle can lure.

There's still time to vindicate the poster who kept insisting all winter that Trump's running mate would be Tim Scott.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | August 2, 2024 9:30 PM |
If Trump's poll numbers drop too obviously, Scaramucci indicated that Trump might cut a deal and drop out for medical reasons. My problem with that is that Trump is already talking about rigged elections. So who knows.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | August 2, 2024 9:33 PM |
I was one poster who thought it would be Scott. As a sop to the party establishment & an appeal to suburban female voters. But then I saw how badly he acquitted himself as a candidate.

But I'm still engaged to Mindy!

Trump doesn’t have the votes on the Supreme Court to “throw” an election to him. They’re not going to endorse a false elector scheme. Maybe Thomas and Alito would want to but the others will not go that far.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | August 2, 2024 10:03 PM |
R135 Wow. You must be living in a different reality if that's your perception on what's been going on these last few years with SCOTUS. Even as far back as 2000 the Supreme Court ordered the voting stopped in Florida for the Bush v. Gore case. A full state recount would have given the election to Gore. We have seen the outrageous decisions and pretzel twisting arguments this court has given these last 2 plus years. Absolutely nothing would surprise me.

Trump has two court events that are going to put him into the grave.
Resumption of January 6 case.
Sentencing in NY for criminal convictions.
Goodbye Donald.

Trump will never see the inside of a prison. Even if he ends up with numerous more felony convictions. The most he will get is house detention at Mar-o-Lago with permission to leave only for specific approved reasons, which he will violate repeatedly with impunity.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | August 3, 2024 12:28 AM |
Jail would be nice but just the mere occurrence of these events will make it impossible for him to win. He’s already a defeated sad sack. At that black journalist conference he lost the election , and the criminal matters will simply drive more voters to Kamala.

If Kamala wins, Trump will go to prison.

Vance needs to start the movement TO DUMP TRUMP.

Trump says he'll only agree to debate Kamala on Fox with his own hand-picked moderators and an audience of cultists.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | August 3, 2024 12:27 PM |
So he's backing out. Thought so.
I hope Kamala does not take that bait. I know she could handle it, but she does not need the debate at this point. Plus those Fox Freaks are very bias, rude a-holes, I could totally see them cutting her off and then letting Dump ramble uncontrollably until he is done. Can you imagine Tucker and Ingram as mod? Or that Himbo, what's his name, Jessy?
Shit show of shit shows.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | August 3, 2024 12:35 PM |
Kamala should counter-propose a debate on MSNBC, moderated by Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow, before an audience of fact-checkers.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | August 3, 2024 12:39 PM |
Let me see.
Our presidental nominee enclosed in a room with a crazed mob chosen of (tiny) hand picked MAGAts --who will be ginned up for violence by their version of Jesus-- protected only by a handful of people from a group who's employees missed finding a bomb meant to kill her on January 6, knew about the planned insurrection ahead of time yet did nothing to stop it, and who allowed some pizza-faced incel to shoot towards Diaper Donnie last month?
No thanks. I know Diaper Donnie and his fans love chaos and such, but they can just go watch some wrasslin' instead. Because that's the action they really want.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | August 3, 2024 2:29 PM |
Trump is a mess. He will only debate on Fox in an arena! With MAGATS cheering his every insult. Fuck him.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | August 3, 2024 3:46 PM |
R151 That sounds like a good idea in theory, but I suspect this is what would happen:
Trump would agree to it, then find some reason to back out after the Fox debate; and of course he would blame Kamala for cheating at the Fox debate.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | August 3, 2024 6:16 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 157 | August 3, 2024 6:24 PM |
Trump wants September 4 because it would be before Judge Merchan issues his immunity ruling on September 6. That will likely go bad for Trump and he’ll be sentenced shortly thereafter.
In good news, Judge Chutkan set an August 16 hearing in the J6 case. She is not to be played.
