Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar - This Fizzy Cocktail of a Movie Deserves a Second Chance

I agree. I watched this movie on the plane and was laughing out loud. It was dumb, it was stupid but also full of adult humor. It surprised me as the characters went in unexpected directions even though the plot couldn't have been anymore basic. I mean, I never expected parodies of middle age midwestern gals to be such free-spirited sluts. Are there any other closet fans of this stupid movie on DL? Everyone else in my life hates it. But I don't know, I actually kinda love it.

I love it! Watched it a few times during the lockdown. A lamp in a window during a dark time. Also, Jamie Dornan is fucking hot!

I liked it too.

This is the high point of the whole movie.

I love that they explain Star is short for "Starbara," but Barb's name is not short for anything.

A wonderful perfect dumb comedy - in a perfect world we'd have ten sequels

I like in the beginning where they are working at Jennifer Convertibles, I think it is, and seem to think the shop floor is their living room. Hilarious.

Very droll movie and part of its charm is that Jamie Dornan cannot do broad comedy. At ALL. But he tries so hard!

Reba!

Kristen Wiig as the villain was my favorite part, and her attempts to string Jamie and his desire to be an "Official Couple."

Loved this movie! The bit when they turn a reference to a hypothetical woman into a backstory building tangent that lasts the whole flight had me roaring.

I wish it were on Netflix. Or some streaming Chanel I already pay for.

The part where Kristen Wiig shakes her head the same time the ringtone goes off and she gets that brief look of bewilderment had me laughing for ten minutes, this movie is just too weird and funny. I love it!

I think it’s funny the first thing these two Midwest women do on vacation is take drugs and fuck. A threesome no less.

Hated hated hated hated hated hated this movie.

^ then they must have been doing something right.

I tried to watch it after reading good word of mouth about it, but I couldn’t get past the first 20 minutes.

Hilarious film that just gets weirder and funnier the more it goes.

After viewing, you'll never doubt the safety features of culottes.
