Most of Whitney's duets were flops.
Anyone remember her duet with Aretha Franklin ? How about with Dionne Warwick ? Both were released as singles, both flopped (the Dionne duet was much better, but didn't even crack the Hot 100). Her first single released ever was 'Hold Me' with Teddy Pendergrass, and that flopped.
I think the only duet she had success with was with Mariah Carey - and we can credit Carey for that.
