In all likelihood, he quit his legal career because it was a political liability and potentially an ethical problem. I like him. They’re only married 10 years. 11 years ago he was earning big money, he lived in Brentwood, he was a single dad to teens. On paper he was most likely to marry some C list actress 20 years his junior.

He blinked and he’s now married again and commuting to DC while still working and still raising teens. A significant strain on any marriage/family. He blinks again and he’s giving up a million dollar career and he’s Second Gentleman. He blinks again and he’s this close to living in the White House and being the first First Gentleman, whatever that looks like. I think his story is crazier than hers! And he’s handled it very well so far. They also seem to have genuine affection for each other unlike the many, many marriages where the political wife looks she’s being held hostage.
