I used to avidly watch the coverage and get excited about the competition. It seems so spectacular to watch the "world's best" athletes compete at the height of their sports.
At some point, it stopped mattering. I think I stopped caring around London 2012. It just stopped having any real appeal. Rio 2016 was an absolute bust in terms of both excitement about the competition and splendor of the games themselves.
Have I changed or have the Games changed?

They really fucked up the Parade of Nations. Unexciting, athletes crammed on boats, mixed with random musical acts...all with lame commentary by Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning.
