Do you like Blue Plate Mayonnaise?

I usually use Dukes, but Blue Plate is on sale. Has anybody tried it?

I only used Veganaise.

Homemade. It takes five mins if you have the right tools.

by Anonymousreply 2July 25, 2024 3:45 PM

Blue Plate is my go-to.

I wonder if my family has a mayonnaise-related tragedy in its past. My family considered mayonnaise to be a pathogen goo.

by Anonymousreply 4July 25, 2024 3:56 PM

I love my Duke's!

A Mayo poll? How novel!

by Anonymousreply 6July 25, 2024 4:19 PM

A thread on mayonnaise just above a threads on Mayo Pete. Classic.

Blue Plate, Dukes, Hellmans, is this poll geared towards the eastern and successionist southern states?

by Anonymousreply 8July 25, 2024 6:26 PM

R7, that's not actually true. But you do you.

Well, what do you suggest up north?

by Anonymousreply 10July 25, 2024 6:31 PM

This topic, again?

by Anonymousreply 11July 25, 2024 6:57 PM

I don't really 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 mayonnaise. It's salty, and I don't care for that in a sandwich spread/salad dressing. That said, it's acceptable in the context of ordering a Whataburger Double Meat with Cheese, Mayonnaise/no Mustard, cut the lettuce & tomatoes, add grilled onions and jalapeños. That's all the consideration I give it, which is to say, none at all.

I was raised on Miracle Whip; my family had views similar to those of R4.

But I ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 tried Blue Plate. 𝐼𝑓 it happened to be the case that I'd decided upon a justifiable use for mayonnaise, and 𝑖𝑓 I was going to buy a jar to keep in my fridge, Blue Plate would probably be the one.

It’s so good.

by Anonymousreply 13July 25, 2024 7:37 PM

Once again, commercial mayonnaise never tastes like mayonnaise. But you wouldn't know that, would you?

Homemade mayonnaise is easy to make and takes almost no time.

by Anonymousreply 14July 25, 2024 7:56 PM

Blue Plate is the best mayo, hands down.

Even its light version is very, very good.

by Anonymousreply 15July 25, 2024 8:02 PM

Yes, it's almost as good as homemade.

by Anonymousreply 16July 25, 2024 8:22 PM

Blue Plate for the win in this household. Duke's is good, but second.

by Anonymousreply 17July 25, 2024 9:06 PM

Bring out the Hellmann’s and bring out the best!

But it’s a pain in the ass when all you want is a tablespoon.

by Anonymousreply 19July 26, 2024 12:09 AM

Blue Plate is so middle class.

by Anonymousreply 20July 26, 2024 12:13 AM

Miracle whip, much better than nasty mayo.

by Anonymousreply 21July 26, 2024 1:37 AM

I never see these weird local brands in big grocery. We have Best Foods and store brand.

I had never heard of it until now.

by Anonymousreply 24July 26, 2024 12:31 PM

I’m pretty sure Mayo is not good for human consumption.

by Anonymousreply 25July 26, 2024 12:37 PM

We call it aioli now.

by Anonymousreply 26July 26, 2024 1:15 PM

Duke's for the win, but Blue Plate is a close second. Sure I would love homemade, but it's not always possible.

HELLMANN'S (two n's, please) is called BEST FOODS east of the Rockies.

by Anonymousreply 28July 26, 2024 2:15 PM

HELLMANN'S (two n's, please) is what much much much older and fancier friends insisted upon for their daily cold cut sandwiches.

They’re probably dead now.

by Anonymousreply 29July 26, 2024 3:36 PM

WEST of the Rockies, R28
