I just signed up to volunteer for the Harris campaign

I should add, I was feeling so much anxiety about Biden's reelection campaign (yes, I know, MARY!!!) that I couldn't bring myself to volunteer. But really, this changes everything.

Kamala is a candidate easy to get excited about.

r7 the "OP replies to herself a lot" troll often posts on threads in which the OP has NOT replied to themselves even once. It often puts the OP on the defensive and riles them up, which is EXACTLY what the troll wants -- that, and to undermine whatever point the OP was trying to make.

I'm curious, what volunteer activity do you think makes the most difference in an election? In other words, if I decided to volunteer, where should I focus my efforts? (I've never volunteered for a campaign before.)

My vote will not count when the Electoral College votes to certify the election in December. My state is a winner take all in the EC.

But the pollsters studying there vote totals afterwards will see that I voted for the DEM ticket rather than the GOP's.

I would love to go door-to-door -- I'm good at small talk with strangers, as was my mother -- but not in MY neighborhood, where I'm just as likely to get shot at as "convert" one of these rednecks.

R23, I did that in a neighboring swing state once or twice, and I encountered a scary proto-MAGA angry guy wearing camo and talking about gun rights. This was way before trump. I can only think the house was on the list because the wife was secretly more liberal, though I'm sure mistakes do happen.

There are many ways to help the campaign that don't involve knocking on doors!

I used to volunteer for Dems. My main job was called Dems on election day to make sure they voted. Much safer than going door to door.

I miss all the DL posters who were here recently talking about how they would be willing to die to protect democracy , stop trump, and save gay rights.

Half the country does not want to see Trump in prison. Exactly what would she gain vs what would she lose. If he loses he will be a fat nobody who will lose a lot of money.
