JD Vance breaks polling records!

Vice presidential candidates typically receive a ratings bump after their party's convention, but JD Vance is bucking the tradition.

On the heels of last week's Republican National Convention, the Ohio senator is the least-liked vice presidential candidate since 1980, according to a polling analysis by CNN, which noted the data applies to non-incumbents.

Since 2000, vice presidential candidates typically have a net positive rating immediately following the convention, at plus 19 points. Vance, however, is polling at minus six points just one week after accepting the vice presidential nomination and officially embarking on the campaign, according to the network.

The freshman lawmaker's lower-than-normal approval ratings are not an anomaly, as Vance has long polled behind other Republicans.

Vance heavily underperformed in his 2022 Ohio Senate race, at least compared to how other Republicans performed in the state that year. Vance only defeated his opponent, then-Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, by six percentage points. In comparison, Republican Gov. Mike DeWine crushed his Democratic opponent, former Dayton mayor Nan Whaley, by 25 percentage points in that same cycle.

"The JD Vance pick makes no sense from a statistical polling perspective," CNN political data reporter Harry Enten said.

Harris' team sent out a press release gloating about the numbers.

"We'd like to be the first to congratulate JD Vance on making history as the least popular VP pick, well…ever," it reads.

The press release goes on to list some of Vance's policies, with the first one being his previous support for a nationwide abortion ban.

Ever since President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic presidential nominee, some members of Trumpworld have reportedly questioned whether Vance remains a wise vice presidential running mate. Former President Donald Trump faltered with suburban voters in 2020, and Vance's selection was widely seen as an appeal to base voters instead of one geared toward attracting more swing voters.

by Anonymousreply 13July 24, 2024 7:05 PM

Who did they poll? GOP voters or everyone? (Honest question)

by Anonymousreply 14July 24, 2024 7:09 PM

What ever JDs numbers are my bet is that they will dip a,little lower yet.

I think assuming Vance stays in much of the Dem ad campaign should be aimed at him. Hell everyone knows what Trump is. Make people ever more afraid of what his VP is.

by Anonymousreply 15July 24, 2024 7:22 PM

Was Junior Jackass really the one who recommended JD Vance, R13?

If so, then now it all makes sense.

Junior just doesn't have the people instincts or the political instincts of his father. Junior is a failure in every way.

That Trump would trust him with selecting his VP, is kind of mind boggling, if true.

Junior is not only a major coke head, but he's dumb as shit too.

But Trump seems to then have fallen in love with JD so we cant give Jr all the credit.

by Anonymousreply 26July 24, 2024 8:17 PM

I wondered how long it would take Trump to turn on Vance. My guess now is any minute. And I'm living for it.

These morons keep thinking they will be the "special boy" who Trump will love. And he turns on them and humiliates them every goddamned time. And they still return to kiss is flabby ass.

This is going to be fun. And we so deserve it! Kamala's polls will continue to improve and we will get rid of these lunatics once and for all.

It won’t be Trumps fault the polls dip we all know that.

But short of ill health on the part of Sgt Vance , Trump is stuck with him. There can be no divorce. Just recriminations and sadness :-)

MILWAUKEE — With the clock ticking to the Republican National Convention last week, Donald Trump met privately to discuss his running mate search with two of his closest advisers: his sons.

The conversation quickly turned tense when the former president indicated that he was leaning toward Doug Burgum, until recently the largely unknown governor of North Dakota — but someone whose low-maintenance, no-drama personality would never threaten to outshine Trump.

That’s when Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump chimed in.

“Don Jr. and Eric went bats--- crazy: ‘Why would you do something so stupid? He offers us nothing,’” a longtime Republican operative familiar with the discussion told NBC News.

“They were basically all like ‘JD, JD, JD,’” the operative said.

Trump ratified his sons’ recommendation here Monday, selecting Sen. JD Vance of Ohio as his vice presidential candidate. Trump called Vance with the news 20 minutes before announcing it on social media, a source familiar with the call said.

In choosing Vance, Trump made a different calculation than he did in 2016 and leaned fully into his MAGA base. Back then, he looked to his daughter and her husband — the more establishment-friendly Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner — for strategic advice. This time, his red meat-throwing sons have a more central role. And instead of going with a longtime traditional Republican like Mike Pence, Trump chose the MAGA warrior Vance.

Couchfucker, A Hillybilly Elegy Story:

In the dim glow of the late afternoon sun through the trailer’s coal-dust stained windows cast its warm embrace upon the living room, J.D. found himself captivated by the soft, inviting curves of the worn-out couch.

It wasn't just a piece of furniture to him; it was a comforting presence, whispering promises of hidden delights through its frayed fabric and sagging cushions. His fingers traced the patterns of the upholstery, feeling an inexplicable connection, an intimacy that transcended the ordinary.

He often sat there for hours, losing himself in the tactile sensation of the fabric against his skin, the faint scents of his family’s history embedded in its fibers. It was an intersection, like his feelings during the annual family reunion, that combined shame and arousal.

J.D. had to admit it to himself; he was polyfurniamorous.

Everything in the room struck a deep chord of desire; his infatuations and lusts weren’t limited to the couch. The antique-styled melamine coffee table with its printed veneer surface stirred something deep within him. He admired the craftsmanship, the way each groove and edge seemed to beckon his touch.

On quiet evenings, he would pour himself a glass of corn liquor and sit by the table, imagining the hands that once crafted it, the lives it had silently observed. He knew the stains on its surface would tell many a tale of life in the holler, particularly under UV light.

The old armchair by the window held a special place in J.D.’s heart. It was where he felt the most at ease, the most understood. The chair's worn velour surface and creaky joints seemed to respond to his every move, almost as if it were alive, sharing his burdens and joys. He would sink into its embrace face down, feeling the weight of his troubles lift as he closed his eyes and let the chair cradle him.

In those moments of release, J.D. felt a deep, unspoken bond, a romance that defied the conventional, a love that was as enduring and unyielding as life in the holler itself.

[quote] And it seems like there are vetting problems with Kelly and Shapiro.

As Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic nominee, picks her running mate, some of her options may have problems within key coalitions of the Democratic Party.

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) are reportedly Harris’s two top picks, but parts of their past while in office may be unappealing to factions of the Left. Harris ran a progressive campaign during her 2020 run but has toned down some of her ideas while in the White House, and it is unclear how progressive of a campaign she plans to run this year.

Kelly and Shapiro bring Harris the opportunity to win two crucial swing states, Arizona and Pennsylvania, but as they are vetted on the national stage, some Democrats may be wary of them.

While Kelly has only been in office for four years, he has won two statewide elections in Arizona after filling John McCain’s seat after he died. His time in office has been relatively quiet, with little public controversy.

Kelly, however, has not signed on to a key piece of labor legislation, which could spell trouble for the ticket’s support from labor unions. Some union officials told ABC News that Kelly’s unwillingness to support the PRO Act, a piece of legislation that looks to make the path toward forming unions and winning labor contracts easier, should be a red flag.

"Why would the Democrats even consider a senator for the vice presidency if the senator doesn't support the PRO Act?" said John Samuelsen, president of the Transport Workers Union and an ally of President Joe Biden. "It's the most important piece of national legislation workers have right now."

Of the 51 Senate Democrats, 48 support the PRO Act. Kelly has said he supports the legislation’s goals but has “some concerns.” During his 2022 Senate run, Kelly was backed by several Arizona labor unions.

"Only 3 Democrats refused to sign on to the PRO Act, one of whom was Mark Kelly," Richard Bensinger, former organizing director at the AFL-CIO, said on Sunday after Harris announced her candidacy. "The right to organize unions is the most important thing to labor so that's a hard no."

The Biden-Harris administration has strongly supported unions as Biden has throughout his political career. On Monday, the AFL-CIO, which is the biggest federation of unions in the United States and has long supported Biden, announced its endorsement of Harris.

“From day one, Vice President Kamala Harris has been a true partner in leading the most pro-labor administration in history,” AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler said. “At every step in her distinguished career in public office, she’s proven herself a principled and tenacious fighter for working people and a visionary leader we can count on. From taking on Wall Street and corporate greed to leading efforts to expand affordable child care and support vulnerable workers, she’s shown time and again that she’s on our side.”

Shapiro is popular in Pennsylvania, according to a May poll from the Philadelphia Inquirer, New York Times, and Siena College, which found 57% of residents approving of his leadership. His popularity spans different parties, as the poll found 77% of Democrats, 42% of Republicans, and 39% of independents approve of Shapiro’s time in office.

But he may prove to be unpopular with coalitions of the Democratic Party for his stances on Israel and school vouchers.

Shapiro, who is Jewish, has been steadfast in his support for Israel throughout the Israel-Hamas war, which could alienate a vocal part of the Left that has backed anti-Israel stances since the Oct. 7 attacks.

"Israel not only has a right, they have a responsibility to rid the region of Hamas and the terror that Hamas can perpetrate," Shapiro said in December, calling on the U.S. to "help support the Israeli people once the battle is over in finding their footing again."

He has also been criticized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations and 43 Pennsylvania Muslim organizations for refusing to call for a ceasefire in the region as other Democrats have done.

"At a time when governors of California and New Jersey have underlined in public statements their support for a ceasefire in Gaza, Gov. Shapiro has failed to do that," the statement from CAIR read.

"His attacks on academic freedom, intentionally depicting protests in a negative light, failure to care for and listen to Palestinian Pennsylvanians whose families are being massacred day in and out by Israeli government, and his behind-the-scenes antagonization of community organizations cannot be ignored and easily forgiven," the statement continued.

It is unclear exactly how Harris will approach Israel, but she has proven sympathetic to the loss of life in the Gaza Strip due to the war. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington this week, she plans to meet with him privately and skip his congressional address.

When Shapiro ran for governor in 2022, he touted his support for Lifeline Scholarships, a school voucher program that would give students in low-performing school districts vouchers for private schools. School vouchers have been a Republican ideal for some time, and many Democrats have been opposed to the program.

While in office, he faced pressure from Democratic lawmakers and backed down on supporting school vouchers by removing them from the state budget, which angered Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers with whom he negotiated the budget.

Some believe his support for vouchers could “pave his way to the White House” as a centrist, but others see Shapiro's support as isolating the pro-public school and pro-teachers union faction of the party.

To add on to what R99 posted, Kamala has actually put out several statements about the need to stop killing civilians in Gaza, and to stop the attacks on them.

I can't imagine having a President and a Vice-President at odds on such a major policy issue.

[quote]Let me be also very clear, as I’ve said before: We cannot conflate Hamas with the Palestinian people. Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization. Hamas has vowed to repeat October 7 until Israel is annihilated.

[quote] No nation could possibly live with such danger, which is why we support Israel’s legitimate military objectives to eliminate the threat of Hamas.

[quote] President Biden and I have also been clear with the Israeli government in public and in private many times: As Israel defends itself, it matters how.

[quote] The United States is unequivocal: International humanitarian law must be respected. Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed. Frankly, the scale of civilian suffering and the images and videos coming from Gaza are devastating.

[quote] I have spoken with members of the Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim communities of America, including those who have lost loved ones in Gaza and American citizens who were injured and evacuated from Gaza. It is truly heartbreaking.

[quote] As Israel pursues its military objectives in Gaza, we believe Israel must do more to protect innocent civilians.

[quote] So, we all want this conflict to end as soon as possible. And to ensure Israel’s security and ensure security for the Palestinian people, we must accelerate efforts to build an enduring peace. And that begins with planning for what happens the day after the fighting ends.

This is why is has to be Beshear, Kelly, or Mayor Pete.

She can't have the Vice-President undermining her, and you know that's what Shapiro would do.

Good News!!!!

Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), a contender to become Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket, told HuffPost on Wednesday that he would vote in favor of the pro-union legislation known as the Protecting the Right to Organize Act.

Kelly’s lack of full commitment to the PRO Act, as it’s known, has stood as a possible barrier to him becoming Democrats’ vice-presidential nominee, since labor unions are a crucial part of the Democratic coalition. Harris has become the presumptive nominee since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race on Sunday.

“Why would the Democrats even consider a senator for the vice presidency if the senator doesn’t support the PRO Act?” John Samuelsen, president of the Transport Workers Union, told ABC News.

But Kelly on Wednesday made clear in an interview with HuffPost that he would support the bill if it came to the Senate floor, affirming enthusiastic support for labor unions. He is not listed as a co-sponsor on the Senate’s most recent version.

“Unions loom large in our life, and I’m supportive of the PRO Act,” Kelly said, recounting how when his mother, a police officer, was injured, her union helped her recover.

“I would have voted for it on Day 1,” he added of the bill. “I would vote for it today. I am, like a lot of legislation, working to make it better. But if it came to the floor today or any day going back to the day I was sworn in, I would vote for it.”

The PRO Act amounts to a sweeping overhaul of labor law that Democrats believe would make it easier for workers to form unions and bargain with their employers.

Among other measures, the legislation would create stiff financial penalties for illegal union-busting; ban anti-union “captive audience” meetings at work; make it easier for newly unionized workers to secure their first contracts; nullify state right-to-work laws; and bar employers from permanently replacing strikers.

But the bill has not drawn unanimous support within the Democratic caucus.

Kelly previously expressed concerns to HuffPost in 2021 regarding a provision that would extend collective-bargaining rights to “independent contractors” — a measure many business groups strongly oppose.

At the time, Kelly said he would “like to see some changes” to the bill, saying only that he was open to passing certain parts of the PRO Act through a process known as reconciliation.

“Depending on how it’s done, I’m not necessarily opposed to that,” he said then.

Kelly is among several Democrats being mentioned as Harris’ potential running mate. The former fighter pilot and astronaut has a strong resume and could help Democrats win Arizona, a key swing state. He’s been a reliable Democratic vote in the Senate, and his vocal embrace of the PRO Act now, amid speculation about higher office, could be a sign of his interest in the job.

The senator declined to answer multiple questions earlier this week about whether he’s been asked by Harris’ campaign to submit documents vetting his potential candidacy, a prerequisite for any candidate. “Kamala Harris is going to be the nominee, she’s the right person for this job, and I’m gonna work really hard to make sure that we don’t see Donald Trump back in the White House,” is all Kelly would tell HuffPost on Tuesday.

Other Senate Democrats heaped praise on Kelly as a vice presidential contender on Wednesday, highlighting his NASA background.

“Obviously, I know Mark Kelly, I think he’d be phenomenal,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said. “Not because he’s a centrist but because he’s an extraordinary leader that is literally out of this world.”

As for "America wont vote for a gay man" thing, stop repeating Russian talking points. They said that about Obama with the middle name of Hussein. More importantly, I think his time in the military cancels out the fears of gayness. Lets be honest, homophobs are afraid of gays who act like women, Yass Queens. The gays who can pass for straight are often given the pass. Pete is that guy, some people didn't even know he was gay when he ran for president and won the Iowa caucus.

Vance is Peter Thiel's creation and Trump NEEDS Peter Thiel's money. Trump can NEVER admit he was wrong. Behind the scenes Vance would have to be forced to deliver a resignation on some bogus, made-up issue, like a family illness, that would give Trump a way out, if Peter Thiel would allow it. VP candidates have resigned before.

Indeed, Trump should be more concerned that the broligarchs may decide that JD is their man for the presidency after Trump wins. He fits their style much better than Trump, and he doesn't need everything to be dumbed down. (Although the Russians simply hand Trump an envelope with cash immediately upon meeting him and everything goes smoothly afterward. True, by the way.)

The NYTimes/Siena poll published July 25th has this to say about Vance and Harris's favorability.

"Tell me whether you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable opinion of Kamala"

Her "very unfavorable" rating is 38%

...........................

"Tell me whether you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable opinion of JD Vance."

His "very unfavorable" rating is 26%

............................

Harris does better than Vance in the "very favorable, somewhat favorable" category but she's much more strongly disliked. This could be because Vance just isn't all that well known yet. Polling numbers will certainly change over time but at the moment his numbers aren't as dire as the CNN poll posted at the top of the thread.

What did Thiel and the other tech oligarchs see in him? Are they so imperceptive they didn't notice his enormous social skills deficits and unpopular to stupid positions? They don't have great social skills themselves, but this guy makes DeSantis all warm and relateable. I wonder what's going through their minds watching his debacle.

by Anonymousreply 157July 26, 2024 7:27 PM

My theory is that these Libertarian neofascist tech bro billionaires, live in a reality which doesn't truly intersect with how the vast majority of the population sees the society and its needs. That kind of money shields you from 99.99% of real life concerns. They do not consume media, they exist in their own little echo chambers of their fanbois who tell them how brilliant they are since they made all that money. They see themselves as these missionaries who bring civilization to underdeveloped tribes and who should, rightfully (in their minds) shape the society to fit their vision. Thiel, Mark Andreessen, Musk and a few others all subscribe to this strange ideology which is basically medieval feudalism of untouchable ruling techno "disrupter" classes and little people (the rest of us) are there benefitting from their visionary benevolence, until we are replaced by AI. And we are on our own, since the society is a loose association of individuals who are naturally at each other's throats, fighting for the survival of the fittest. Basically, social Darwinism and everything it entails: eugenics and social hierarchies (men-strong, women -weak; hetero-good, produces more serfs, gay - bad, doesn't contribute to the society.) And everything decentralized: cryptocurrencies, no social programs, etc. Add some weird paleo-Catholic vision of Christianity to that and you get Thiel and JD Vance. JD Vance looks like someone who made a gradual transition to that worldview and was, in all likelihood, groomed by Thiel all the way, until was fully red-pilled.

[quote] And just think of Trumps blood pressure and stress if Harris does pick Kelly. A many times decorated combat vet that out ranked JD by a ton.

GOP does not sweat war heroes. They took down John Kerry with Dubya, who skittered out of his National Guard service, and they blew away Max Cleland who lost 3 limbs in Vietnam. And Trump got elected after saying “I like people who don’t get captured” about John McCain.

Don’t know why anyone thinks they will be fased by anything military or heroic, They accused Max Cleland of blowing his own legs and arm off because he was drunk and playing with a hand grenade (untrue, but they defeated him) and they elected Bone Spurs after he dissed a guy who spent 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton.

Trump will give Kelly a nickname like Rocket Man and probably make fun of his wife for talking funny,

You know nothing about US politics if you think Trump and Co will be cowed by anyone’s record. They took down both Vindman brothers, denied their promotions and won against Alexander Vindman in court because, according to the judge, “political hackery isn’t against the law.”

by Anonymousreply 170July 28, 2024 11:15 PM

R170

Let me rephrase so you will understand

I said trump would be upset that his pogue non combat Marine is now upstaged by a legit national combat hero. You can argue trump would not care but then you would be wrong.

“I was a Marine what did you do” is a big part of Jds bio and appeal to trump..

But left and right will attack our military service vets if they see a chance to take a shot at the other side. It’s now the American way draft dodging cowardly non servers attacking service members for political gain.

That’s America

by Anonymousreply 171July 28, 2024 11:27 PM

Trump absolutely does not care that Kelly is a war veteran. Trump’s most basic belief for his entire life is that he is better than everyone else and that he is always right. And can we blame him? He’s always been a narcissistic pathological liar and a business buffoon, yet he’s managed to get the media to suck his cock for 50 years. He won the US presidency , the most powerful job on the planet, while stumbling, fumbling and lying outrageously every minute of the day.

He goes on the most watched television programs in the country and tells easily disproven lies, but media does not challenge him. Instead they say, “Yeah, but the other guy is old.”

I don’t believe Trump fears anyone because he so deeply believes in himself and his ability to overcome everything. After losing one billion dollars, he was given a prime time television series portraying him as a financial whiz. After trying to violently and illegally overthrow the US government, he’s running again for reelection.

He’s cheated on all his wives…he pays women off. He paid Stormy Daniels off. Is he in jail. No. He sexually assaulted numerous women and a judge found that he sexually assaulted E Jean Carroll. Is he in jail? No.

He committed massive tax fraud in NY state. Is he in jail? Nope

He’s been found guilty of violating money laundering laws over 100 times in NJ. He was fined a minuscule amount. Did he pay the fine? No. He had the fine discharged in the Taj Mahal bankruptcy.

He refused to pay hundreds of small businessmen, illegal Polish workers, his lawyers. He’s been involved in 3,000 lawsuits. In jail? No.

Trump university was fraud. He stole from children with cancer. He killed the AFL, destroyed Eastern Airlines and you and I know he was elected with Russian money and with Russian spy fuckery via Wikileaks Dem server hack. Is he in jail? No.

Why would he be afraid of *anybody* when he’s been criming and getting away with it for decades while the limp medial blows him?

Trump is not afraid of anyone with military medals. He told John Kelly, a Marine Corps general whose own son died in combat, that he thinks people in the military are losers. Wouldn’t you be afraid a Marine might punch you in the face for disparaging him and his son? I would. But Trump wasn’t afraid because he knew Kelly wouldn’t touch him and he knew that if word got out about what he’d said, he’d just deny it and carry on.

He was right. Nothing happened.

by Anonymousreply 182July 29, 2024 11:53 AM

It will. be just like the communist party. Lenin dies and the Party died. It might take some time for the wake but in the end…

by Anonymousreply 183July 29, 2024 11:58 AM

That's what I said, MAGA will not give up until Trump is gone. Until then, even in 2028, if he is still alive, they will still retain control of what was the Republican party. They will not abandon Trump in an attempt to win back power an election with new blood. Not without Trump or Trump's blessing.

by Anonymousreply 184July 29, 2024 12:06 PM

Trump has alas at least ten more years on this mortal coil.

Everyday Vance is on the ticket the harder it becomes to replace him barring him dropping out, death or incapacity. There are deadlines in states and they are not consistently the same date. Remember they already signed and sealed the nomination. If he drops out/replaced it looks weak and bad for the Trump campaign and is an admission of Kamala's new PR criticism: Trump and Gang are just plain weird. But if it happens it has to happen soon. Trump is running FROM jail and accountability more than he is running FOR office, so expect anything.

I know that hypocrisy has never stopped them before, but the Republicans would look like complete hypocrites if they tried to replace Vance AFTER he was nominated, when they've spent the past few weeks claiming (falsely) that even if Biden voluntarily withdrew BEFORE being nominated, it would disrupt the ballots and invite lawsuits.

Trump can't replace him now. If he does, it shows a campaign in utter chaos. It would show that Trump is a terrible leader who can't be trusted to make critical decisions for our country, like who's second in line for the presidency. Republicans won't care, but it would severely hurt him with Independent voters.

Devine & Kopko:

Our research shows running mates matter, above all else, by shaping how voters view the presidential candidate who selects them. Running mates indirectly influence voter choice by changing perceptions of the presidential candidate — which, in turn, changes votes.

In the 2008 presidential election, for example, there was reason to question Palin’s readiness to serve as president. Biden, however, brought needed experience to the ticket headed by then-freshman Sen. Barack Obama. In both cases, voters noticed. Voters who doubted Palin’s experience were more likely to doubt McCain’s judgment — and less likely to vote for the Republican ticket. They also were more likely to believe that McCain was too old to be president.

John Oliver made a great point about the cat lady thing too - he said you don't have to have children to care about humanity. Lack of empathy correlates highly with being a Repug - they can't wrap their head around caring for other people outside of their immediate family.

by Anonymousreply 199July 29, 2024 4:00 PM

Exactly. It’s the same as dimwits claiming you need the Bible to teach you how to be a good person.

[quote] Lack of empathy correlates highly with being a Repug - they can't wrap their head around caring for other people outside of their immediate family.

That's a core value or trait of Republicans. It's not a belief system it's how they are wired. If they know you personally like a family member or friend, they care about you, but if they never met you every man for himself. That's why many of them will maybe have a gay friend but still vote against any kind of LGBT rights.

You're different to them because they know you, but all those other gays are disgusting, flaunting their sexuality in public.

This article analyzes the prayers said at Trump rallies. I cannot believe they tried to blame Dems for dangerous rhetoric when they have pastors saying:

'And when Donald Trump becomes the 47th president of the United States, there will be retribution against all those who have promoted evil in this country'

and

'This is a time for spiritual warriors to arise and to shake the heavens.”

and

'We’re fighting the real enemy that comes from the gates of hell, led by one of its leaders called Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”

Newly Catholic JD Vance an and his Hindu wife better believe that these people are not on their side. They are bonded for now by common enemies, that's it. If these lunatic pastors got their way Usha would be one of the first up for 'retribution'.

Trump doesn’t exercise or eat well, but neither did his father who lived into his 90s. But trump’s father wasn’t in a constant state of seeking adoration. He wasn’t being given any and every drug by his personal physician.

Trump’s brother Robert died at 71. His sister Maryanne died at 86. (We know his other brother died early of alcoholism). Trump is the last survivor. Let’s hope he does t make it to 86 or 93.

Part of JD's problem is that he never trained as a politician. He was plucked into politics by his corporate funders because he wrote a well-received book about the society he grew up in, but that's not the same thing as engaging with voters and persuading them. He didn't have to do much to win his primary, and although he beat an underfunded Democrat in a red state he did so by much less of a margin than other winning Rs in OH. He's still got a big learning curve ahead of him.

Walz doesn't.

Anything for a viral moment to own the libs.

by Anonymousreply 309August 10, 2024 2:18 AM

Has Don Jr been lying low? I haven't noticed anything about eruptions from him on Twitter.

by Anonymousreply 310August 10, 2024 2:41 AM

He's coked out somewhere along with that inflatable sex doll.

by Anonymousreply 311August 10, 2024 2:45 AM

He really seems to have sunk out of sight, doesn't he? I wonder how they'll use him in the post-Labor Day campaign. I assume he'll debate Walz, but Walz brings a lot more enthusiasm, and so far Vance just has name-calling.

by Anonymousreply 312August 10, 2024 4:18 PM

Harris and Walz are touring stadiums and airplane hangars together. Don't the MAGAts find it odd that Dump's running mate doesn't show up to the rally with him? Or is he such a cipher that nobody notices or cares?

by Anonymousreply 313August 10, 2024 4:27 PM

Vance is now yesterday's punchline. Interesting how that openly fake joke about the couch resonated so much it did him in.

by Anonymousreply 314August 10, 2024 4:55 PM

Such a good investment of Thiel's money... Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 315August 10, 2024 6:08 PM

^ If Trump loses one of the best things will be laughing at all the rich fuckers like Tim Mellon, David Sacks, Elon, the Winklevoss assholes, etc. who flushed their money down the toilet

by Anonymousreply 316August 10, 2024 7:37 PM

Was Vance Thiel's blood boy?

by Anonymousreply 317August 10, 2024 8:19 PM

I’m sick of the son of a bitch and all of you up your ass obsessed with him on here!! Boo! Boo!!!

by Anonymousreply 318August 10, 2024 8:46 PM

^ Hi, Peter!

by Anonymousreply 319August 10, 2024 11:14 PM

You’re fat butt boy now the butt of everyone’s jokes got you down? Cry harder, bitch!

Better yet, dump more money into this fool. That’s the ticket.

by Anonymousreply 320August 11, 2024 9:33 AM

This just surfaced on Twitter. It appears to be JD Vance (allegedly taken at Yale in 2012).

by Anonymousreply 324August 12, 2024 5:56 PM

She has that "come hither" look in her eyes, so I'm guessing it was Peter Thiel taking the photos

by Anonymousreply 325August 12, 2024 6:19 PM

R323 it's been 15 years and the bitch won't ditch her eyeliner.

by Anonymousreply 326August 12, 2024 6:51 PM

I like what I see R323!

by Anonymousreply 327August 12, 2024 6:53 PM

But of course! The Republican invested in a start up and quickly replaced the local workers with migrants hired as ICs so they could pay them shit wages and treat them like shit. Locals were replaced because they were passing out on the job from heat exhaustion. Company went bankrupt.

R329's clip has Laura Ingraham quoting a friend saying "all these suburban women don't understand the decision is with the states now, abortion isn't totally banned."

Holy fuck, suburban women—and all of us—understand perfectly clearly that the decision is with state governments and NOT with individual women, and that's what they're incensed about!

by Anonymousreply 330August 15, 2024 3:22 AM

That’s what I call “shucking and jiving” r330. But you can’t bullshit a bullshitter — the Rethugs are lying liars who lie. Laura Ingram is a faux “religious” Conservative Catholic, she is a tortured soul and no one can figure her out. Has she ever orgasmed? Is she closeted? Does she need to get dicked down? No one understands it. She thinks a little wordplay and semantics is going to fucking fool women? We see it. We read it. We watch it. We hear it. Two women in TX suing because they are sterile after doctors refused D&C’s. Laura is a troubled, confused Nazi who wants to see women dominated because she personally benefits in power and money. That’s it. She’s a CUNT. She’s a sociopath. And so are the Rethugs. They are traitors, understand that. TRAITORS.

by Anonymousreply 331August 15, 2024 3:51 AM

R301 is Tim Ryan.

by Anonymousreply 332August 15, 2024 4:37 AM

[quote] Has she ever orgasmed?

Yes, one time after Lura got arrested AND prosecuted for shoplifting. OOPS, did I let the cat out of the bag? My Bad.

by Anonymousreply 333August 15, 2024 5:39 AM

Laura dated Lindsey Graham.

by Anonymousreply 336August 15, 2024 11:18 AM

Is Vance not humiliated by the fact that he can't get more than 100-200 people at his rallies (being generous here, since at least half of those are from the media)? I've seen street corner preachers with bigger crowds. Even MAGAts don't like this loser.

by Anonymousreply 337August 15, 2024 2:36 PM
