The Genius of Joe Biden

He was planning on dropping out MONTHS ago, but waited to announce it until: 1) after the RNC so it would take the wind out of Trump's sails; and, 2) the Democratic Party had developed and placed a solid plan in place to replace him as the Dem Nominee. It's not going to be Harris, but it *WILL* be someone who can/will run Trump into the ground. Our friend Joe has played his part and timely PERFECTLY, and can now enjoy a peaceful and well-deserved retirement.

by Anonymousreply 86July 24, 2024 8:36 PM

You didn't need to start a thread about this.

by Anonymousreply 1July 21, 2024 11:28 PM

lol, no. He was just forced out.

by Anonymousreply 2July 21, 2024 11:28 PM

The Mighty Joe Biden troll strikes again.

by Anonymousreply 3July 21, 2024 11:29 PM

If the DNC really had something like this in the works, it's actually quite sneaky and perfectly timed, as OP said.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 4July 21, 2024 11:29 PM

Rubbish

by Anonymousreply 5July 21, 2024 11:30 PM

Why didn't the genius just resign and allow Kamala Harris to preside making her the incumbent for the November election? It would given voters time to see her in action

by Anonymousreply 6July 21, 2024 11:32 PM

Mighty Joe fucked up mightly.

by Anonymousreply 7July 21, 2024 11:35 PM

Nonsense! His denial was finally broken.

by Anonymousreply 8July 21, 2024 11:35 PM

If the fictive premise were to be as ingenious as proposed by the OP, one would then expect Biden to suddenly resign in late September, propelling Harris and the party into enhanced power through the sympathy and support of the nation.

But you're too clever, aren't you?

by Anonymousreply 9July 21, 2024 11:46 PM

Record breaking donations coming in. 27.5 million in just the last 5 hours.

by Anonymousreply 10July 21, 2024 11:54 PM

This better fucking work...

by Anonymousreply 11July 22, 2024 12:09 AM

What a crock. It’ll be Harris. She’s gotten a ton of money and endorsements already.

by Anonymousreply 12July 22, 2024 12:30 AM

" It's not going to be Harris"

OP you're an idiot. It might be time to get away from the computer for a bit.

by Anonymousreply 13July 22, 2024 12:37 AM

OP did you also start the Biden is going to resign the Presidency and Kamala will be sworn in as the first female President?

by Anonymousreply 14July 22, 2024 12:38 AM

R6, I've been saying this, too. But then it was pointed out to me that he still could resign the presidency.

by Anonymousreply 15July 22, 2024 1:27 AM

[quote]Why didn't the genius just resign and allow Kamala Harris to preside making her the incumbent for the November election?

Because the nominee WILL DEFINITELY NOT be Harris. For the reason of optics, Joe couldn't possibly endorse anybody BUT Harris; however, let's face it Joe's "endorsement" means little or nothing at this point. There's an Anointed One waiting in the wings right now.

by Anonymousreply 16July 22, 2024 1:46 AM

OP is living in an alternative reality.

by Anonymousreply 17July 22, 2024 1:50 AM

Gavin, Pete, and Josh have all endorsed; millions pouring back in, lots of down ballot money now and support - always liked her a bunch, donated when she ran last time - this is gonna be the uterus election, and Prosecutor v Felon Rapist is gonna be Must See TV.

She picks VP wisely and she might just win.

by Anonymousreply 18July 22, 2024 2:03 AM

[quote] Why didn't the genius just resign

Only one President has ever resigned the presidency and that was the criminal Republican President Nixon, who was told by his own party to resign or be impeached. Resigning would be a disgrace, heaped on the disgrace of being forced out by your own party.

Having to run for President and be President is rough, when she is already starting from behind.

by Anonymousreply 19July 22, 2024 2:13 AM

The first female president shouldn't be ushered in, she should be elected so there is not an asterisk next to the historical moment.

by Anonymousreply 20July 22, 2024 2:13 AM

You're a retard r16. 90% of the Dem party has come out for Harris in the past few hours.

by Anonymousreply 21July 22, 2024 2:17 AM

r16 Seriously seek help. I'm assuming you're acting this stupid because you're bored, and you just want to argue. Seriously - get some sleep.

by Anonymousreply 22July 22, 2024 2:20 AM

What retarded psychotics like R21 and R22 (as well as others) don’t understand, is that the Dems under Biden’s leadership have FINALLY learned to be united behind whoever the nominee is. Remember when Joe was behind in the 2020 primaries, then lo and behold everyone suddenly got behind Joe and supported him? Same thing will happen here when Harris isn’t the nominee; even SHE will get behind the candidate.

Democrats are finally learning to unite while the Rethugs have now become the infighters. I love it!!!

by Anonymousreply 23July 22, 2024 2:36 AM

While I don't think he decided to drop out without a tremendous amount of external pressure, the Dark Brandon energy is definitely in effect. Now all the wind has been taken out of Trump's sails and nobody gives a fuck about him or his assassination attempt any more. He's going to look fat, old, and decrepit next to Kamala and whoever she picks for VP.

by Anonymousreply 24July 22, 2024 2:43 AM

'Watch now as a panicked GOP tries to convince us that if President Biden can’t campaign, he shouldn’t try to govern, either.'

The genius dropped out of the 1988 race

by Anonymousreply 27July 22, 2024 5:11 AM

From the WSJ:

President Biden had just finished trying to persuade a group of congressional Democrats to pass a $1 trillion infrastructure bill when Nancy Pelosi, then the House speaker, took the microphone.

In 30 minutes of remarks on Capitol Hill, Biden had spoken disjointedly and failed to make a concrete ask of lawmakers, according to Democrats in the room. After he left, a visibly frustrated Pelosi told the group she would articulate what Biden had been trying to say, one lawmaker said.

“It was the first time I remember people pretty jarred by what they had seen,” recalled Rep. Dean Phillips (D., Minn.), who would go on to mount an unsuccessful primary challenge against the president.

That was October 2021. That month was the last time Biden met with the House Democratic caucus on the Hill regarding legislation.

by Anonymousreply 28July 22, 2024 6:12 AM

Trump will be the next president of the United States.

by Anonymousreply 29July 22, 2024 6:23 AM

If Biden resigned Harris would have to pick a VP and get both houses of Congress to approve the choice. Repubs in the House would turn that into a mess. Also she’d be governing and running in the same short period. Just leave Biden in and let her run without distraction.

by Anonymousreply 30July 22, 2024 6:31 AM

That whole call for Biden to resign is a MAGA wet dream, they know it would cause chaos. That's why Fox News and Repugs are pushing for that.

He's been president for 3 1/2 years, 6 months is not going to make a difference, he created a well oiled machine of people doing the day in and day out of work that needs to be done. Practically on auto pilot at this point and if anything serious happens to him, VP is there to take over.

by Anonymousreply 33July 22, 2024 8:25 AM

Biden was smart enough to kick Trump out of office after his first time. To that I say thank you. That makes you a Genius in my book.

by Anonymousreply 34July 22, 2024 8:35 AM

I thought it was the electorate that kicked Trump out of office R34?

by Anonymousreply 35July 22, 2024 8:49 AM

Obama, Pelosi and Schumer do not want Harris to be the Democratic candidate.

by Anonymousreply 36July 22, 2024 8:59 AM

Neither do I, R36.

by Anonymousreply 37July 22, 2024 9:00 AM

So who do they want, R36?

She already has 1/4 of the delegates she needs. Raised over $70M since yesterday.

Why are they silent about who they want?

by Anonymousreply 38July 22, 2024 1:01 PM

R38, Yesterday’s donations would have been made no matter who the Democratic candidate is that replaces Biden.

by Anonymousreply 39July 22, 2024 1:11 PM

He waited to the last minute not because it was an act of strategic brilliance, but because he was forced out against his will. On the plus side, it flummoxes the Trump campaign. On the minus, we’re stuck with Harris who is a weak candidate and leader because there’s no time for a primary campaign and going with anyone else would fatally divide the party.

by Anonymousreply 40July 22, 2024 1:17 PM

Again— if they don’t want Kamala Harris, who DO they want?

by Anonymousreply 41July 22, 2024 1:17 PM

There are many better choices that we now cannot make

by Anonymousreply 42July 22, 2024 1:18 PM

Eveb if it were thrown open, a majority of convention delegates seem to prefer going ahead with her.

The opposition has likely believed Joe would eventually go since the debate. Harris will be the crazy coastal liberal who'll spend her term at hip-hop parties with illegal immigrants.

by Anonymousreply 43July 22, 2024 1:23 PM

The majority of the party realizes that it has no choice but to go with her. She has the fierce backing of the Black caucus. Trying to go with anyone else would mean civil war. Plus, she can keep the money and going with her seems orderly.

by Anonymousreply 44July 22, 2024 1:26 PM

This is either trolling or idiocy.

Old Joe was forced painfully and slowly into a corner of his own making. He did some solid and good things as President but he fucked up by running for reelection as an octogenarian in the first place, and everybody with a brain knows it.

by Anonymousreply 45July 22, 2024 1:30 PM

Joe Biden and genius should not be in the same sentence together. Ever

by Anonymousreply 46July 22, 2024 1:36 PM

For all this money that has been pouring in, that can't go to anybody else other than Harris can it? I don't think donation money goes to 'candidate to be named later'.

by Anonymousreply 47July 22, 2024 1:48 PM

Most of the money is being raised through Act Blue:

The first $6,600/$10,000 from a person/multicandidate committee (“PAC”) will be allocated to Harris for President, with the first $3,300/$5,000 designated for the primary and the next $3,300/$5,000 for the general election. The next $41,300/$15,000 from a person/PAC will be allocated to the DNC. The next $510,000/$255,000 from a person/PAC will be split equally among the Democratic state parties from these states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, and WY. Any additional funds will be allocated to the DNC, subject to applicable contribution limits

by Anonymousreply 48July 22, 2024 2:55 PM

He also planned to get up on stage and make a fool of himself?

by Anonymousreply 49July 22, 2024 4:13 PM

by Anonymousreply 54July 22, 2024 7:45 PM

Which means it *will* be Harris, seeing as she's the only viable candidate who can do exactly that. Unless Trump pusses out of it, she'll flat-out eviscerate him in a debate.

by Anonymousreply 55July 22, 2024 7:49 PM

[quote]Obama, Pelosi and Schumer do not want Harris to be the Democratic candidate.

by Anonymousreply 61July 22, 2024 8:05 PM

I think Nancy and Obama wanted an open convention and Joe’s endorsement was a final “fuck you.” It took Nancy some time to read the state of play and she now sees Harris is inevitable.

by Anonymousreply 62July 22, 2024 9:16 PM

I bet Nancy Pelosi saw the tens of millions pouring in through Act Blue and realized it might just all work.

by Anonymousreply 63July 22, 2024 10:12 PM

FAUCI means "jaws" in Italian.

by Anonymousreply 64July 22, 2024 10:17 PM

Also, Joe stayed in the race long enough for Trump, the NYT, the rest of the Repiglicans, and the media to make both AGE and MENTAL COMPETENCE the driving issue in this race. The tables have now been turned and the Dems are now armed with the weapons the aforementioned groups created to use against Trump. GENIUS!!

by Anonymousreply 65July 23, 2024 12:51 PM

That’s fortunate for the Democrats, but not the result of Joe’s genius.

by Anonymousreply 66July 23, 2024 12:56 PM

Not really, r65, considering the Dems were insisting up until very recently - and some even only a couple of days ago - that Joe Biden was perfectly fine and anyone who said otherwise was a Russian troll. If Joe had been able to keep his condition publicly hidden for just a few more months, they would have been happy to put him forward as the candidate.

As for competence, one of the few policy things Kamala had assigned to her, i.e. border security, she failed to achieve anything significant with, so Trump will just go on about how incompetent she's been on the border

by Anonymousreply 67July 23, 2024 1:07 PM

I smell the "stalking horse" troll.

by Anonymousreply 68July 23, 2024 1:07 PM

Hmmmm. Absolutely no one is talking about the RNC convention. The Dems have taken over the media and should take their time naming a V-P.

by Anonymousreply 71July 23, 2024 6:24 PM

The director is ultimately responsible and she should have known that she’d have to fall on her sword, but she is not actually responsible for ground operations at a routine campaign rally. The incompetence was by the agents who were quite likely MAGAs as most cops are.

They also wanted to wait til Trump picked a dreary, charisma-free VP.

As much as Turd is prone to firing people, I think he would have no problem firing J.D. But it would be disastrous for his Stay Out Of Jail campaign.

R74 "The Secret Service director, prior to her resignation, said that she did not put anybody on the roof because it had a sloped roof that would have created a safety concern," Guest began.
