Nicholas seems like a well-meaning, gentle soul, though I admit he is easy to mock. Among the loud, gleefully cruel, ignorant jerks populating the internet, I will take Nicholas, his little dog, Sophie, and his bland, yet ever-evolving apartment any day. His aspirations of culture and refinement are admirable and sadly outdated. I like him and I hope he succeeds.
