I especially like his rendition of Georgie Girl. He seems kinda gay here- was he?

Judy would never have allowed those chorus girls to cross in front of her. They got between me and MY AUDIENCE!

By 1967 Bobby Vinton was as culturally irrelevant as Connie Francis.

Who?

Why are his hands in his pockets?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 21, 2024 2:49 AM |
His voice is so bland.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 21, 2024 2:53 AM |
He's charming, but you can see perspiration under his nose when he sings "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" :-)

I liked him in his low-unbuttoned dungaree shirts and bell bottom pants in his 1970s syndicated TV show. đŸ’¥

He did introduce a Bacharach tune and had a big hit with it in 1963. There is that.
Bacharach's melodies quickly became more sophisticated, but I love the early stuff too.

He and his songs annoyed me. Roses are Red and Blue Velvet were shit.

Singing "Sunrise, Sunset" without the opening "Is this the little girl I carried?" Could Bobby Vinton be more goyische?

This thread is surely the only discussion about Bobby Vinton on the entire World Wide Web.

I loved Bobby and his traditional Polish-themed love songs. I wasn't aware of his renditions of Fiddler on the Roof songs. I can identify, since I'm Catholic, and was taught all those songs in my Catholic grade school. I know it's not appropriate now, but I love Jews and Jewish culture ever since.

Is he wearing a sailor's coat?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 21, 2024 7:50 AM |
It kinda looks like he's in a STRAIGHT jacket.
Myself I'm far too GAY to ever be able to wear a STRAIGHT jacket.

A turtle neck doesn't even look good on a turtle.

R19- And everyone else- I enjoy this as a period piece.
At least i n 1967 his look is restrained. By the 1970's he's wearing outfits that make him look like a cross between Evel Knievel and 70's Elvis Presley .
Don't care for the 1970's fro-ish hair.

Bobby Vinton is still alive.

Unlike his career.

If the city of Atlantis is lost, how can Bobby Vinton appear there twice a year?

He's in character for the song in which he's strolling The King's Road or Carnaby Street, spots Georgy Girl, and senses what's behind her carefree aura. Bobby brought his own touch of method acting to light entertainment.

Datalounge people - don’t ask me why but I must’ve watched that video at least 25 times since I found it the other day and I posted it here on the data lounge. Not because it is particularly good.
It’s a fun period piece to watch. I love the two womens outfits.

R13-Obviously I like his rendition of Georgie Girl and the Fidler On The Roof stuff is cute too but I never liked his version of Special Angel - it stinks.
The Vogues version 1968-is my favorite .

R25, but the way Bobby turned "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" into a second-person song about his two backup singers -- "Make them a match," etc. -- was bizarre.

Bobby shoved have removed his coat to reveal a prayer shawl.
