Bob Newhart was never funny. Ever.

Join the hate.

Fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 1July 18, 2024 9:40 PM

Shut your dirty whore mouth, OP!!!

by Anonymousreply 2July 18, 2024 9:48 PM

Philistine

by Anonymousreply 3July 18, 2024 9:51 PM

That's not what your Grandma said.

by Anonymousreply 4July 18, 2024 9:54 PM

I hate you! And I hate your ass face!

by Anonymousreply 5July 18, 2024 10:00 PM

I think you meant Lou Dobbs, OP.

by Anonymousreply 6July 18, 2024 10:03 PM

This thread isn't going the way you thought it would, is it, OP?

by Anonymousreply 7July 18, 2024 10:08 PM

Nothing more tiresome than a smug contrarian like OP. Just because your opinion is an outlier doesn't make it clever.

by Anonymousreply 8July 18, 2024 10:11 PM

Don’t care, R7.

by Anonymousreply 9July 18, 2024 11:10 PM

If you want to know about 1970s decor and clothing of white upper middle class people, watch the original Bob Newhart show. Bob and Emily are actually dressed to match the decor

I liked both the Chicago and Vermont shows.

by Anonymousreply 13July 18, 2024 11:22 PM

I actually didn’t know who he was, surprisingly.

by Anonymousreply 14July 18, 2024 11:25 PM

Imagine hating Bob Newhart.

by Anonymousreply 15July 18, 2024 11:49 PM

Nice guy but not that funny-RIP

by Anonymousreply 16July 19, 2024 12:04 AM

He was the perennial straight man and victim. He didn’t tell jokes for you to guffaw at but his timing was perfect

by Anonymousreply 17July 19, 2024 12:07 AM

Bob Newhart was not funny; he was hilarious. He brought to television smart, dry wit and was surrounded by some of the greatest cast of supporting characters. The man was a comedic legend.

by Anonymousreply 18July 19, 2024 12:13 AM

R18- Bob Newhart was as funny as watching paint 🎨 dry.

by Anonymousreply 19July 19, 2024 12:41 AM

R19's idea of funny is some Insta Ho doing scare pranks.

by Anonymousreply 20July 19, 2024 12:42 AM

What r17 said.

by Anonymousreply 21July 19, 2024 12:43 AM

We already heard your keen insight into his humor on the main thread, loser OP.

by Anonymousreply 22July 19, 2024 12:44 AM

What an original and hilarious put-down!

by Anonymousreply 23July 19, 2024 1:02 AM

You are no doubt a laugh riot, OP.

by Anonymousreply 24July 19, 2024 1:06 AM

Well R15 that lack of imagination makes it clear why you think he's a comedic genius.

by Anonymousreply 25July 19, 2024 1:10 AM

R8 I'm not trying to be clever, I'm stating a fact.

by Anonymousreply 26July 19, 2024 1:11 AM

R26, it is clearly an opinion, which is your right, but hardly a fact. I think the Mona Lisa is a pretty mediocre portrait.

by Anonymousreply 27July 19, 2024 1:21 AM

One of the most brilliant finales in television history.

R27 I don't care, I didn't paint it.

by Anonymousreply 29July 19, 2024 1:24 AM

OP, isn't it time for another viewing of MEATBALLS 3: SUMMER JOB?

by Anonymousreply 30July 19, 2024 1:29 AM

R30 did Newhart write that one? If so I'm sure you're quite familiar with it given how quickly it popped into your empty head.

by Anonymousreply 31July 19, 2024 1:33 AM

Darrell.

by Anonymousreply 32July 19, 2024 1:37 AM

I KNOW MY RIGHTS! DON'T YOU TOUCH ME!

by Anonymousreply 33July 19, 2024 1:59 AM

His work doesn't land well with the likes of OP and many others here, whose tastes run more to slapstick like Adam Sandler gurning his way through 3rd-rate Jerry Lewis schtick, Ernest Goes to Camp, or Paul Blart: Mall Cop. If you're the kind of person who has to get baked before watching a comedy, don't bother with the bone-dry Newhart.

He's Brut Champagne, and your tastes are more Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers.

by Anonymousreply 34July 19, 2024 2:01 AM

Suzanne was the best thing about the Chicago show.
