They should just rename their party the Christian Right. Last night a clergyman prayed for God to “protect thy military” - not protect OUR military - protect God’s military. Honestly, the whole spectacle was frightening. They rotely and mindlessly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem (badly). And the Don regally accepted their adoration with a big bandage over his ear to remind them what a martyr he is while Lee Greenwood introduced him and sang “God Bless the USA.” Every single speaker embarrassingly gushed about how great he is.

The worst part is that right now it looks like this radical right gang with their regressive policies and autocratic rule is going to take over the entire government next year. I can’t believe so many Americans seem willing to go along with this.

I honestly don't care anymore. Politics in this country have never been this bad. Both sides anger the fuck out of me. I've voted in every single election and I don't think I'm voting in this one. Nothing either side says or does seems to affect me at all. Four years I'll pay less taxes. Four years later, I'll pay more. Four years we'll have liberal judges, four years later we'll have conservatives. We need a few more parties to vote for as the designers of the Constitution envisioned. We don't need this libs vs. cons. crap anymore. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of being called a Trumper if I say ONE fucking thing that doesn't jive with what the liberals want us to say. I'm sick of hating people I don't even know and them hating me.

I'm just done. My subscription here ends in August and I'm never renewing. This place is just as toxic as everywhere else. I think the internet is responsible for the shit that is happening. Their vision of the country and the policies they advocate couldn’t be more different. Please do yourself a favor and look into them. It shouldn’t be hard to decide which one more closely reflects your views. Of course, you won’t agree completely with everything either one says, but it should be pretty easy to figure out which one you agree or disagree with most. It really does matter who runs the government of the most powerful country in the world and determines the general welfare of its own people. Take an active role in choosing the direction our country will go. The future depends on it, so don’t just leave it to others.
