JD Vance is against gay marriage

Despite taking all that $$$ from Peter Thiel

by Anonymousreply 174July 28, 2024 12:14 AM

Two year old article.

by Anonymousreply 1July 15, 2024 10:14 PM

Well he must have evolved since then r1!

by Anonymousreply 2July 15, 2024 10:15 PM

Peter Thiel is against gay marriage because more than likely he can't marry a 12 year old (some people are saying), so if hes not happy no other gay man can be either. Gross Old Pedos

by Anonymousreply 3July 15, 2024 10:18 PM

Peter Thiel wants you working in a mine, he doesn't care about your marriage

by Anonymousreply 4July 15, 2024 10:30 PM

Same-sex marriage is another issue like abortion: The Supreme Court has legalized same-sex marriage (as it did in 1971), but if the right-wing whacko bigots can bring the right case to the Supreme Court (as they did with abortion), same-sex marriage could be overturned since it has not been codified into via Congress and signed by the president.

Another friggin thing Congress has failed to do: It didn't codify abortion when it became the law of the land in 1971...and Congress has not codified same-sex marriage since the Supreme Court issued its ruling legalizing it in 2015.

Jesus Christ! Congress has has plenty of time to work on these issues.

by Anonymousreply 5July 15, 2024 10:55 PM

Of course he is and thinks every woman should push out five babies.

by Anonymousreply 6July 15, 2024 11:01 PM

Peter Thiel is financially and systematically supporting a political party that is going to fight to reverse the right for same sex marriage. And yet he married his gay partner in Europe. The world is full of selfish fucked up people.

by Anonymousreply 7July 16, 2024 1:46 AM

[quote]Peter Thiel is against gay marriage because more than likely he can't marry a 12 year old (some people are saying), so if hes not happy no other gay man can be either. Gross Old Pedos

Peter Thiel might be an asshole but he fucks adult male models.

That accusation is just more homophobia. “He’s gay so must be a pedo.”

by Anonymousreply 8July 16, 2024 2:26 AM

[quote] Peter Thiel might be an asshole but he fucks adult male models.

Correction: fucks *and* kills adult male models.

by Anonymousreply 9July 16, 2024 3:43 AM

The breeders are obsessed with same-sex marriage. It keeps them awake at night. They will not rest until it's gone.

by Anonymousreply 10July 16, 2024 3:53 AM

He's freaky deaky though

by Anonymousreply 11July 16, 2024 4:09 AM

R5, gay marriage is codified. The Supreme Court cannot override that. Abortion not being codified is why they were able to kill it. That’s why abortion activists were always worried.

by Anonymousreply 12July 16, 2024 4:10 AM

R3, what's this about Thiel?!!

by Anonymousreply 13July 16, 2024 4:17 AM

R9, At least I didn’t kill anyone.

by Anonymousreply 14July 16, 2024 4:17 AM

I was going to add that no one underage ever “fell” off of a balcony under Peter Thiel’s watch, R9.

by Anonymousreply 15July 16, 2024 4:39 AM

Are you looking at me, R15?

by Anonymousreply 16July 16, 2024 4:47 AM

[quote] That accusation is just more homophobia. “He’s gay so must be a pedo.”

It is a disgusting mischaracterization but one that Theil supports fulsomely with his millions. Supporting politicians who want to convince Americans that gays are pedophilic groomers. So fuck him!

by Anonymousreply 17July 16, 2024 5:35 AM

[quote] [R5], gay marriage is codified. The Supreme Court cannot override that. Abortion not being codified is why they were able to kill it. That’s why abortion activists were always worried.

MARRIAGE EQUALITY IS NOT CODIFIED. This Supreme Court can ABSOLUTELY rule that states are able to prohibit same sex marriage.

[quote]JD Vance is against gay marriage

On a related note, I bet Grindr's gonna be really jumpin' this week in Milwaukee from all the Rethugs in town looking for a little fun at night after attending their hatefest during the day.

by Anonymousreply 19July 16, 2024 6:19 AM

R19, Sniffies is the new Grindr.

by Anonymousreply 20July 16, 2024 9:20 AM

He took money from PThiel and got the VP position because Thiel wants Project 2025 implemented. Period.

MAGA's precious Orange Jesus won't last long after Inauguration Day because the money guys want Vance in the driver's seat to bring P2025 into fruition.

by Anonymousreply 21July 16, 2024 10:40 AM

These sex obsessed MAGAs are really something. They want to crush women and control every aspect of their lives including birth control. They hate Gays and want to dismantle Gay Marriage, want to deprive trans people of their meds, want to ban books, etc. and the ones who are so aggressively focussed on sexual orientation and behavior always, always have secret lives and are either into child porn, or spousal abuse or they themselves are in the closet because of sexual identity issues They need to be exposed.

by Anonymousreply 22July 16, 2024 12:18 PM

[quote]gay marriage is codified

No, it isn't. The Respect for Marriage Act would help to blunt the impact of a reversal of Obergefell should it happen, but it doesn't codify SSM into law.

by Anonymousreply 23July 16, 2024 4:04 PM

You never see him in the same room as Adam Lambert.

by Anonymousreply 24July 16, 2024 4:44 PM

I don't think this pairing will work. Trump is such a narcissist and Vance is a narcissist or at least some kind of personality disorder. They won't get along. Vance will try to push his own agenda and Trump won't like anyone taking attention from Trump. Trump will push Vance around and I don't think Vance will put up with it since he is also an alpha.

by Anonymousreply 25July 16, 2024 6:14 PM

R25, Trump loves to play subordinates off against each other so Vance will get caught up in that drama. Also, Vance is the potential future of the GOP. He's only 39. Anyone who is really ambitious will be focused on Vance, not Trump.

[quote]Yes, it is.

No, it isn't. The Politico piece is mistaken. The Respect for Marriage Act doesn't make same sex marriage legal throughout the country, it only limits the impact of a possible reversal of Obergefell. If Obergelfell is reversed, the state level laws banning SSM become active again, but any such marriages predating it would still be valid under the Act. And marriages established in states where it is legal would be valid in states where it would not be. That's what it was meant to do.

by Anonymousreply 28July 16, 2024 6:54 PM

These are ALL old stories. Vance got elected Senator and everyone knew about how he feels about gays and how he once hated Trump. We need to worry more about Ancient Joe than rehashing old stories on Vance. Biden is losing this. Better wake up cause Grampa is taking democracy down with him in November. If Biden is on the ticket we lose. That's a fact.

by Anonymousreply 29July 16, 2024 7:11 PM

The biggest obstacle to Democrats losing in November is all the insider crap by those looking to sabotage Joe Biden's nomination and election. Despite all the significant baggage and disqualification of Trump, including rape convictions and 34 felonies, everybody on the Republican side is standing by him. If Democrats stand by Biden he will win the election and be sworn in in January 2025. If it turns out he is in progressive decline, then at some point he can stand down and Harris can become president. Democrats are their own worse enemy.

by Anonymousreply 30July 16, 2024 7:21 PM

Worst not worse

by Anonymousreply 31July 16, 2024 7:24 PM

[quote] Trump will push Vance around and I don't think Vance will put up with it since he is also an alpha.

Vance is not an alpha, he is a "Mary!!!"

by Anonymousreply 32July 16, 2024 7:25 PM

R31 Thanks. I had it as worst first, then wasn't sure and switched it to worse. Then neither one seemed correct, but since I'm not writing a dissertation, who cares.

by Anonymousreply 33July 16, 2024 7:26 PM

It's more than just gay marriage, it's about gay rights or the lack of them. All types of discrimination laws like housing, jobs, health care that currently have non-discrimination laws they have to fallow with regards to LGBT will be wiped off the map. The religious right will push for that so they dont have to "violate their beliefs" in the work place. This is actually more important and hanging by a thread than marriage.

Imagine doctors or even entire hospitals saying they will not take care of you due to "religious freedom" especially in some very red parts of the state you live in or the country.

by Anonymousreply 34July 16, 2024 7:37 PM

It is not going to happen we are going to drag every living as to the polls and vote early and often as they used to say in Chicago.

by Anonymousreply 35July 16, 2024 7:56 PM

I know of so many gay marriages that were not successful.

by Anonymousreply 36July 16, 2024 8:45 PM

Highly educated conservative philosophers like the late Roger Scruton devoted so much energy arguing the supposed immorality of homosexuality, when anyone schooled in evolutionary biology could have explained to him that a more or less fixed percentage of people in any society, across history, have always been exclusively same-sex attracted, that this will always be the case, and that homosexuality is a normal variant of human sexuality. I'll never understand why, in 2024, there are still people who believe it's some kind of choice, or morally wrong.

by Anonymousreply 37July 16, 2024 8:56 PM

But Joe Biden is too old to be president!

by Anonymousreply 38July 16, 2024 8:59 PM

r36, many straight marriages are not successful. Your point?

by Anonymousreply 39July 16, 2024 9:25 PM

[quote]I know of so many gay marriages that were not successful.

I know so many straight marriages that were not successful. Maybe heterosexuals should get their act together before they get married. What about the children!

[bold]According to the Williams Institute, the divorce rate for same-sex couples is 1.1%, compared to the divorce rate for opposite-sex couples, which is 2.9%.

"We now know Trump's campaign strategy. With JD Vance for VP, it won't be traditional: Vance, like all Peter Thiel proteges, repels voters. Trump's only path to win is by using vast sums of money to divide the left, slander Biden and Harris, and suppress the vote. Brace for it.

All Thiel's candidates ooze JD's repellent brew of resentment and entitlement. So let's review, to prep: Cruz, Hawley, Masters, Vance. Ted Cruz: his Princeton roommate said "We should be afraid" and "I would rather pick someone out of the phone book".

Josh Hawley: his hometown newspaper crusades against him. His childhood neighbor said "I wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher. I wouldn't inflict that on the dog." Hawley won in MO, but a presidential ticket has to win nationwide. Biden can do it.

In 2022, Peter Thiel spent $30M trying to push two proteges / employees into the Senate: Vance and Blake Masters. Masters had the worst focus-group scores one consultant had ever seen. He put out a creepy ad fondling a "German" pistol. And he lost.

Both Masters and Vance underperformed the GOP ticket in their states, by 6-10 points. For Masters in AZ, that was a loss. For Vance in OH, a win. The national election will be more like AZ, and Trump campaign staff know it. They cannot make JD more likeable. They won't try.

Instead $100's of M from Silicon Valley will fund a torrent of garbage. Peeling off the horseshoe left with "genocide Joe" stories. Racist slurs about Harris. Stories about doubt and division in the Dems, some greased by hidden payments. Everyone must expect that, and prepare.

This race is winnable if people see what they're up against - a well-funded flood of falsehood and doubt. Biden may be uniquely qualified to withstand it: he's been attacked for years now, and nothing has worked. People just need to stand firm against fascism and fight."

by Anonymousreply 55July 17, 2024 12:10 PM

Any relation to DL icon Vivian?

by Anonymousreply 56July 17, 2024 12:11 PM

R27, Biden invited men who lie and say they're lesbians to the White House for Lesbian (In)visibility Day do, so, no, he is not a champion of lesbian rights. He also supports the practice of transing "non-gender conforming" kids who would often simply grow up to be gay, so not sure how that makes him a champion of lesbian and gay rights.

“Biden signs historic bill codifying same-sex and interracial marriage” - So, if Vance opposed this bill, does that mean he's against his own interracial marriage? Or was this bill nothing to do with protecting same-sex and interracial marriage, which are already legal, and was it instead simply a form of political grandstanding?

Why would Vance bother scrubbing the comments if they're of no consequence, R63?

by Anonymousreply 64July 17, 2024 2:12 PM

Both the far left and the far right are against secularism, women's rights and gay rights.

The far left wants an islamification of the west which is anti-woman, anti-gay and anti-secular.

The far right wants a christianization of the west which is anti-woman, anti-gay and anti-secular.

I'm fascinated and horrified that most people haven't realized this.

It's a troll R68. Using one of their numerous accounts to post here.

by Anonymousreply 70July 17, 2024 2:35 PM

R64 exactly what part of he is downplaying abortion did you not understand? Now if they or he go full on national abortion plan and make that a big deal during the rest of the election I will be wrong.

They are making this as much of a non or lesser issue as they can . Nothing says that more than s rubbing the previous comments. The Dems will of course do the opposite.

Abortion is the main issue the Dems can depend on to now win elections. Kind of sad when that is said out loud.

by Anonymousreply 71July 17, 2024 2:42 PM

R71, how is women’s reproductive freedom “sad”?

by Anonymousreply 72July 17, 2024 3:26 PM

It would be nice to think the Dems had other issues to depend on that will consistently bring out the voters . Right now the only truly big card we hold over the gop is abortion. And straight women voters turning out in great numbers,

It’s the “only” that is sad.

The GOP is making great inroads currently with normal typical Dem support like youth, Hispanics, blacks. But we still have abortion and trans rights.

R72

by Anonymousreply 73July 17, 2024 3:47 PM

trans rights are not that popular with the democrats. Abortion is already lost to the states.

by Anonymousreply 74July 17, 2024 3:50 PM

They are popular with the Dem White House R74 but likely not democrats as you say.

by Anonymousreply 75July 17, 2024 3:54 PM

R73, what issues do they have? None.

by Anonymousreply 76July 17, 2024 4:02 PM

R65 has never met anyone on the "far left"

Imagine whining about "Islamification" in a country where Muslims make up 1% of the population and have little power.

by Anonymousreply 77July 17, 2024 4:05 PM

[quote] Abortion is already lost to the states.

No very much still a national issue and a voting issue for many, many people. People all over the country know that the Republican Party will not stop at a few statewide bans, but will move toward a federal ban, and also trying to force the FDA to ban all abortion drugs, and to even do what they can to ban women from traveling to other states to get abortions, probably hoping the FBI can get involved with that.

And the Republicans know it, which is why they are desperate to downplay the extreme anti-abortion policies most of their leaders have supported. They are an extremist, Christianist, anti-abortion in all cases party, and it's simply too late to pretend otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 78July 17, 2024 4:19 PM

R78 it’s not too late if it removes abortion even a little from this current election. If they dont go out of their way to get on an anti abortion band wagon they will have listened to their political advisors. You would need trump to be pushing a ban while the Dems attack that.

The national abortion people don’t have t be reminded . They know with Vance their issue is in good hands. And they will know that not talking about it now is trumps best move,

Lots of young women in America that will claim to support abortion rights will not even bother to vote.

by Anonymousreply 79July 17, 2024 4:44 PM

They will have to fight half the states to get abortion removed nationwide. States Rights are a big deal to americans. Abortion will have to be fought state by state in the illegal states. It will take years and some ultra conservative states will never get reversed.

by Anonymousreply 80July 17, 2024 5:09 PM

R77 Wokes are far left if you haven't noticed yet. They are violent and destructive and display extremist behavior. They are far left.

Read my post again, if you can read. I wrote islamification or christianization of THE WEST, not just the US.

by Anonymousreply 81July 17, 2024 5:12 PM

Vance is just awful and looking mighty smug since his VP nomination.

by Anonymousreply 82July 17, 2024 5:12 PM

[quote] States Rights are a big deal to americans.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Yes, states' rights were very important to white southern racists, but that wasn't some abstract devotion to states. It was all about the racism, and states' rights were a better slogan.

Nobody in the forced birth community gives a fuck about states' rights. Their goal is to ban abortion everywhere and for every reason. Democrats should be very clear about that, and absolutely not adopt some passive strategy waiting for Trump and Vance to admit what the Republican Party wants for abortion.

by Anonymousreply 83July 17, 2024 5:14 PM

R92 Vance is likely just a former Marine that looks at the Dems today demanding that Joe must go, Joes debate performance and he probably thinks he has a pretty good chance to be VP of the fucking USA. And then President

by Anonymousreply 90July 17, 2024 7:04 PM

Can someone who knows explain why a party that controls the WH, House, Senate, SC could not over turn gay marriage if they wanted to.

I don’t think they will but could they not do it if they really tried?

by Anonymousreply 91July 17, 2024 7:06 PM

Yes, they could r91. The Supreme Court would have to go first, overturning Obergefell, but then Congress could pass a law against gay marriage, and the president could sign it.

And J.D. Vance would apparently love that.

by Anonymousreply 92July 17, 2024 7:09 PM

R91, of course they could do it. Apparently that's why we often wind up with different parties controlling different branches of government. Voters assume (correctly or not) that having a stymied, fractured government is better than having a unified one.

by Anonymousreply 93July 17, 2024 7:15 PM

Gay marriage has a lot of support in the US. If they win they might not want to take it on no matter what the more fringe says. If they keep saying it’s up to the states it would keep the anti types busy and their hands clean.

It looks like, as has been pointed out by many, that trump wants to leave a many election maga world for decades to come. I don’t think they will go after marriage no matter what they have said in the past. There is not a whole lot to gain politically..

by Anonymousreply 99July 17, 2024 7:50 PM

R88 Biden signed the respect of marriage act. It would be hard for the president to get both the House and Senate to repeal it. And then that’s just the start. The Supreme Court still makes it law of the land. How can a president argue pushing legislation to repeal something the SC made law of the land. And if he does so the SC still makes it law of the land. It would then have to go back to the Supreme Court to be repealed— again unlikely. Repubs are crazy; they aren’t God.

by Anonymousreply 100July 17, 2024 8:08 PM

R94 Big fucking deal. The right for a woman to choose has overwhelming 76% support in the US, but Republicans and the SCOTUS are vehemently against it and it has been a driving wedge issue for decades.

by Anonymousreply 101July 17, 2024 8:09 PM

R100 the SC doesn't make laws, they interpret what the amendments in the constitution say.

by Anonymousreply 102July 17, 2024 8:29 PM

R102 You know what I mean. The SC does not make new law yes I know.

by Anonymousreply 103July 17, 2024 8:33 PM

The Supreme Court did not make gay marriage law. They basically said it is a fundamental right for gay persons to marry and that there rights have been infringed upon up until this point in history.

Just think how many Americans would become homophobes if not against gay marriage if they knew about DL and read here.

Low profile is a blessing

by Anonymousreply 121July 20, 2024 11:58 AM

So hide under the radar? Not a good strategy if you want to protect your rights as a gay man. You sound like you have some internalized homophobic tendencies. Get therapy.

by Anonymousreply 122July 20, 2024 6:17 PM

[quote]Pete wants to experience some JD dick.

I am pretty sure it's the other way around, JD want his ass pounded and Pete loves the fem type, especially ones who wear guyliner.

by Anonymousreply 123July 20, 2024 6:19 PM

R122 are you saying that gay rights would be enhanced or protected if the general public of the US was exposed to the threads and comments on DL? :-)

You could not be serious. No one could possibly think that way and be serious. My god it would be a disaster that would rival the dem 2024 campaign.

just the I refuse to wear a condom no matter how many times I get syphilis comments alone could set back gay rights for decades.

God no the general public , Mike Johnson , straight world , sane gays should never be told about DL.

OK after thinking a bit I know for sure that one of us …….

by Anonymousreply 127July 20, 2024 8:46 PM

R125, typical MAGA projecting what they are to the core. Sorry your Orange Jesus got his ear shot off. But he had it coming. Maybe his father above, GOD was giving him a warning shot. Either way, he's the biggest fraud this country has ever seen. Literally been taken to court over it and lost.

by Anonymousreply 134July 22, 2024 8:19 PM

Sometimes, what's inside truly matches what's outside, r134.

by Anonymousreply 135July 22, 2024 8:20 PM

R134 has never been to a Marine reunion. :-)

JD is a former Marine. Like from years ago. Did you think Trump just pulled him from training at Pendleton and made him VP?

You have been jacking off to far to many recruiting posters. You need to get a bit grounded.

by Anonymousreply 141July 22, 2024 8:32 PM

R141 he may have gone out on what you might call a combat mission—-what ever that means to you. Most mission outside the wire do not engage in direct under fire combat every day they go out. Likely most times they don’t take fire.

He was just unlucky enough never to have been under fire.

But what ever they are doing can be very stressful even if nothing happens. And I know people killed or wounded by IEDs and they were doing someone along the line of heading to base to see the dentist or have lunch. Trump like service avoiders may see this differently,

,Many Marines who cover the Marines like Vance did have been KIA WIA over the years.

by Anonymousreply 142July 22, 2024 9:39 PM

[quote]He was just unlucky enough never to have been under fire.

I'd hardly consider that "unlucky".

[quote]He thinks people without children should "face the consequences" and have less of a say in our government than people with children

I am cool with that, as long as we dont have to pay taxes for schools, child care, or subsided tax cuts for families. I should not have to pay a damn thing for someone else's crotch fruit. It's their choice to have them, its not our problem the didnt play accordingly with their money.

by Anonymousreply 167July 25, 2024 12:01 PM
