In British Columbia all seems to breathe freedom and peace, and to make one forget the world and all its sad turmoils.

I thought it was overrun by wealthy Hong Kongers moving their wealth before the British handover, and soaring property values ensued.

R5, isn't that just Vancouver?

I road tripped and camped thought out Banff and Jasper years ago and was looking forward to seeing lumberjack-types or Mounties and the whole area was Asian. Tour buses loaded with them, Asian workers, stores asking for bilingual workers. The only place I didn’t see them was in the campgrounds which I’m sure that’s not true now. My fantasy of Here Comes The Brides (minus the brides) was shattered.

Despite being British, you'll find there's nothing Colombian about it.

Unless you enjoy cocaine or crack cocaine r15. r10 Banff and Jasper host a lot of Chinese in the peak season. By the way Mounties are always depicted elsewhere as wearing the dress uniform. Regular cops wear blue and navy blue or black like other police around the world.
Bears (the animals).do love our province. Coyotes too although just the BC Mainland, only wolves live on Vancouver Island.

I think the property values have greatly increased because it's a beautiful, desirable city in a stable country, r5. The same thing happened to London and Sydney. Tempting as it might be, not every problem can be blamed on the sinister Asian Menace.

R17 - are you insane? There have been hundreds of articles about Hong Kong and Chinese buying up property in Vancouver after the transition and throughout the 2000's and 2010's.
That's just ignorant.
