The three women killed in a crossbow attack in Bushey, near Watford, are the wife and daughters of BBC Racing radio commentator John Hunt

OMG!! Horrific!

How does this happen? They walked out the door and all were shot with arrows? Someone broke in their house and shot them with arrows?

by Anonymousreply 1July 10, 2024 5:16 PM

“Horrific” describes the coverage currently broadcast here in London. Shrill, concerned voices saying the same things over and over and over again.

I get this kind of violence is rare and significant here in the UK, but how many times do people need to be told “do not approach the suspect with a crossbow”?!?
Police are continuing their manhunt for suspect Kyle Clifford, 26, and armed officers are currently gathered at a cemetery in Enfield, north London

r1 They were tied in their home first, he's an ex-boyfriend of one of the daughters.

by Anonymousreply 4July 10, 2024 5:19 PM
Mother Carol, 61, and daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were found seriously injured at their £800,000 detached home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, last night.

DailyMail making sure to get the price of their house in there.

by Anonymousreply 5July 10, 2024 5:21 PM

This is his brother, by the way.

R5 I think they do it to take the piss now considering even their own readers repeatedly criticise them for doing it.

by Anonymousreply 7July 10, 2024 5:24 PM

He has three daughters, so one is still alive. Small consolation, I know.

by Anonymousreply 8July 10, 2024 5:24 PM

An ex of one of the women?

You mean a whiny, entitled loser who is too weak to deal with rejection or real life.

by Anonymousreply 9July 10, 2024 5:24 PM

Police searching for Kyle Clifford following the triple killing in Bushey say they have located a man in Enfield in north London. 18:25

by Anonymousreply 10July 10, 2024 5:28 PM

he must be a horrible commentator.

by Anonymousreply 11July 10, 2024 5:29 PM
Herts Police issued a statement which said: "Following an extensive search, Kyle Clifford, aged 26, was found in the Enfield area by officers this afternoon. [bold]He is receiving medical treatment having been found with injuries. No shots were fired by police."[/bold]

I Iike the way that town/village isn’t perfectly manicured. In the US the lawns and shrubbery would be perfectly mowed and pruned within an inch of their lives. I like the natural, slightly raggedy look. Better for pollinators and for homeowners

by Anonymousreply 13July 10, 2024 5:32 PM

R12 Presumably he tried to kill himself and failed at that.

Roll on the inevitable whole life order.

by Anonymousreply 14July 10, 2024 5:33 PM

Big pussy boy tried to off himself, of course. Too weak to take the consequences of his actions. Typical of murdering trash.

by Anonymousreply 15July 10, 2024 5:33 PM

I've always been creeped out by crossbows, this story is like a nightmare.

by Anonymousreply 16July 10, 2024 5:35 PM

What's a racing commentator?

by Anonymousreply 17July 10, 2024 5:36 PM

Someone who provides commentary on horse racing.

by Anonymousreply 18July 10, 2024 5:39 PM

Lowest rate of gun deaths in Europe. But determined psychos will find a way.

by Anonymousreply 19July 10, 2024 5:40 PM

R17 He commentates on horse racing for the BBC.

I feel so bad for him. How does anyone get over their wife and two of their daughters being murdered in cold blood?

by Anonymousreply 20July 10, 2024 5:41 PM

You just know it'll come out that he was stalking / otherwise harassing his ex.

by Anonymousreply 21July 10, 2024 5:42 PM

Thanks, R20.

What a terrible nightmare. I'm glad they caught the suspect.

by Anonymousreply 22July 10, 2024 5:43 PM

The same applies here in Canada r19. [sigh]

by Anonymousreply 23July 10, 2024 5:44 PM

R6 fucking hell, what a family.

by Anonymousreply 24July 10, 2024 5:45 PM

No words…

by Anonymousreply 25July 10, 2024 6:21 PM

Omg. They have video of him leaving the house with a crossbow. Yikes.

by Anonymousreply 26July 11, 2024 12:29 AM

He’s from a murderous family

by Anonymousreply 27July 11, 2024 1:14 AM

Looks like R9 was correct:

"Clifford is believed to be an ex-boyfriend of Mr Hunt's daughter, Louise. Clifford, who has worked as a private security guard, spent several years as a soldier in the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards"

by Anonymousreply 28July 11, 2024 5:23 AM

R14 and what would you prefer to a whole life order, a 10 year sentence and released after 5 years?

by Anonymousreply 29July 11, 2024 6:35 AM

This is like the end of We Need to Talk About Kevin.

by Anonymousreply 30July 11, 2024 6:46 AM

R30 I was thinking that too. Very sadistic.

[post redacted because linking to dailymail.co.uk clearly indicates that the poster is either a troll or an idiot (probably both, honestly.) Our advice is that you just ignore this poster but whatever you do, don't click on any link to this putrid rag.]

R29 I wasn't suggesting that it was an unsuitable punishment, just that it's (rightly) inevitable. Someone who murders three people doesn't deserve to be released.

by Anonymousreply 33July 11, 2024 8:19 AM

A little lacking in the niceties there to call him a killer before he's even charged, Daily Mail.

by Anonymousreply 34July 11, 2024 8:21 AM

Those daughters do not look like their parents.

by Anonymousreply 35July 11, 2024 8:38 AM

It appears that the Clifford family has anger issues.

by Anonymousreply 36July 11, 2024 11:41 AM

R35 it's the trashy bronzer

by Anonymousreply 37July 11, 2024 12:04 PM

Is his family Arabic or something? They look…..dark.

by Anonymousreply 38July 11, 2024 8:12 PM

"BBC commentator John Hunt"

Sizemeat verificacia?

by Anonymousreply 39July 11, 2024 9:14 PM

Crossbows don’t kill commentators, commentators kill commentators.

by Anonymousreply 40July 11, 2024 9:23 PM

[post redacted because independent.co.uk thinks that links to their ridiculous rag are a bad thing. Somebody might want to tell them how the internet works. Or not. We don't really care. They do suck though. Our advice is that you should not click on the link and whatever you do, don't read their truly terrible articles.]

This is such a dreadful story and seeing people on Social Media compete with each other to be more outraged and outrageous with their analysis.

by Anonymousreply 42July 11, 2024 9:30 PM

ban arrowheads

by Anonymousreply 43July 11, 2024 9:31 PM

Ironic that his name was Hunter and he was killed with a crossbow.

Thats like if Sean Penn is killed by a pencil.

by Anonymousreply 44July 11, 2024 9:46 PM

He's paralysed due to that self-inflicted wound and will never walk again. Hasn't been questioned by the police yet.
He fired a bolt into his upper body before police could get to him the day after and was found unconscious in a cemetery near his home in Enfield.

Thoughts and prayers. But also points for originality for trying to kill yourself with a crossbow, haven't heard of that one before.

WTF was that young woman thinking getting involved with a guy who has such *terrible* hair? Did she feel sorry for him?

by Anonymousreply 46July 28, 2024 12:20 PM

Some young women get with losers, thinking their love can encourage them to become better men, R46. You know, like movies and Disney tell them from when they were little.

A loser will always be a loser. In this case, a loser with a violent temper and bad hair.
