Lena Dunham QUITS as Director of “Polly Pocket”

She is upset they won’t let her do it her way. Clearly she has no idea how big studio films work. The Director has very little say in anything.

The production couldnt afford her craft service demands.

by Anonymousreply 1July 9, 2024 4:17 PM

Oh fuck her.

by Anonymousreply 2July 9, 2024 4:24 PM

Why is Lena dressed up in that picture like she’s auditioning for an upcoming film production of “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm?”

by Anonymousreply 3July 9, 2024 4:25 PM

Whose vagina does she eat cereal out of?

by Anonymousreply 4July 9, 2024 4:27 PM

LENS

There is a movie about Polly Pocket that Lena Dunham was directing? Not a single part of that sentence sounds like something a company interested in making money would approve.

Another disastrous diversity hire

Are they really making a film about Polly Pocket? How? It has even less substance than Barbie! Also, the Barbie film has been ridiculously overinflated as somethings deep, when in reality it is just pseudo-comedic fluff with some very forced social commentary jammed in to avoid accusations of banality.

The film industry is truly dying, and the people to blame for this are the worthless, incompetent executives who mismanage it and the parasitic investors who are bleeding it dry in the name of profit.

It's a complete mystery to me since she looks so stable and easy to work with.

[quote] “The studios want to capitalize on Barbie’s success, Lemon. Lily Collins will star as Polly Pocket in a Lena Dunham movie. Taika Waititi is making a Furby film with Ansel Elgort. We’ve got Werner Herzog directing a Street Sharks movie. Nobody even knows what that is, Lemon.”

Wait I have heard of this shit before. Someone made a joke tweet about it last year. The concept was so ridiculous I though they'd made it up.

Yes, Mattel is making movies out of many of it’s popular toys through the years.

by Anonymousreply 11July 9, 2024 4:48 PM

Polly Pocket? More like Pebble Pocket. In my fucking vagina.

by Anonymousreply 12July 9, 2024 4:52 PM

FFS read the article. She 's not upset or mad at the 'studio' (Mattel). She just realized she wasn't going to be able to do it creatively and someone else could do a good job. It's her own script. Mattel is still planning on making a movie from it and thinks Dunham is great.

You mean cast herself as the lead character along with the full-frontal nude scenes that would inevitably come with it.

She is repulsive, and the only reason she has a career is because of her connections.

In a PG movie about a Mattel doll? Now THAT'S creative.

Fuck that bitch.

Well I guess you don't want to hear about the Cabbage Patch doll movie starring Amy Schumer.

by Anonymousreply 17July 9, 2024 5:40 PM

A Polly Pocket movie will never work. Mattel trying to turn all its properties into films is going to be a disaster. Barbie was an outlier.
