Glen Powell posts shirtless pic with his dog.

Which idiot on his team told him to post those pitiful abs all over social media?

by Anonymousreply 153July 24, 2024 11:50 AM

Not particularly sufferable, this guy.

by Anonymousreply 1July 9, 2024 12:12 AM

We've had sufficient of his thirst.

by Anonymousreply 2July 9, 2024 12:13 AM

Someone get him some water. This bitch is so thirsty he’s parched.

by Anonymousreply 3July 9, 2024 12:13 AM

Let me guess Twisters isn’t tracking well.

by Anonymousreply 4July 9, 2024 12:23 AM

He looks cute in this picture with Cruise, too bad about the tiny eyes though

by Anonymousreply 5July 9, 2024 12:34 AM

How cute his “mentor.”

by Anonymousreply 6July 9, 2024 12:36 AM

If anyone ever needs to define “phony” or “inauthentic” to someone, show them the photo at R5.

by Anonymousreply 7July 9, 2024 12:38 AM

Could his pants be slung any lower?

by Anonymousreply 8July 9, 2024 12:40 AM

Why must I see this rat-faced boy everywhere? His 15 minutes is just about over.

by Anonymousreply 9July 9, 2024 12:41 AM

I liked him as the smart ass college baseball player in 'Everybody Wants Some' even though the movie didn't have much of a plot

by Anonymousreply 10July 9, 2024 12:43 AM

What a coincidence, Glen's leading lady Sydney Sweeney also recently had a revealing mirror selfie moment!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 11July 9, 2024 1:43 AM

R8 I think yes, but I like the way the way they hang. Yeah, Glen needs to dial it way back for a bit. Even his smile looks frozen in a rictus.

by Anonymousreply 12July 9, 2024 1:52 AM

The poor prop dog can’t even look in the mirror it’s so embarrassed.

by Anonymousreply 13July 9, 2024 1:57 AM

No eyes, no lips, and that smile is hideous.

by Anonymousreply 14July 9, 2024 1:58 AM

Glenn is the biggest thirst bucket

by Anonymousreply 15July 9, 2024 1:58 AM

R15 he really is. Jeez. He needs to dial it back. I started out liking him. Now I find him embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 16July 9, 2024 2:00 AM

Sad last days

by Anonymousreply 17July 9, 2024 2:08 AM

He looks like he has lips to me. And some other nice things. I’m sure every guy who has posted here would kick him out of bed for sure. 🙄

by Anonymousreply 18July 9, 2024 2:46 AM

Him...meh, his dog gorgeous....!

by Anonymousreply 19July 9, 2024 2:50 AM

He is annoying, yes. But I would still fuck him.

by Anonymousreply 20July 9, 2024 2:58 AM

R20 = Glen Powell

by Anonymousreply 21July 9, 2024 3:07 AM

R5: Tammy trying to convince his fans to go see Twisters.

by Anonymousreply 22July 9, 2024 3:35 AM

I'm sick of this dude and he hasn't even started yet.

by Anonymousreply 23July 9, 2024 3:38 AM

He has Dean McDermott squinty weasel eyes.

by Anonymousreply 24July 9, 2024 4:00 AM

He’s smoking hot and that dog is adorable. So much hate here, unsurprisingly.

by Anonymousreply 25July 9, 2024 4:08 AM

Stop trying to make him happen.

by Anonymousreply 26July 9, 2024 4:27 AM

Hunny he is happening. Denzel and Tammy have set him up with their management team , he has a good agent courtesy of Denzel, and he is on his way. He isn't just acting. He is writing, he is producing, and you know he's gonna try directing, too in the not too distant future. He can be very likeable and he is hot, so all he really has to do is stop being so thirsty. I get it. He is no baby. He has been knocking around for a while and he's in his 30's. So he is super eager to take advantage of this time and go heavy. He needs to back off, though.

by Anonymousreply 27July 9, 2024 12:45 PM

I love his body, but his face is the epitome of 'derpy'.

by Anonymousreply 28July 9, 2024 1:12 PM

[quote]So much hate here, unsurprisingly.

I mean, it's kind of DL's thing.

by Anonymousreply 29July 9, 2024 1:24 PM

Nothing wrong with that at all, you are all fuckers and jealous.

by Anonymousreply 30July 9, 2024 2:46 PM

R27: Even that didn't help that much. Denzel gave him the best agents and managers after working on The Great Debaters, which was in 2007. Perhaps if he honed his craft or wasn't so very average looking he might've broken out sooner but who knows. He's just breaking out now. I guess Twisters will determine if he's all hype. Netflix doesn't reveal their numbers so Hit Man doesn't tell us much. Regardless of how you feel about him, you can't deny that it's so obvious "the machine" is pushing him on us and nothing about it is organic.

by Anonymousreply 31July 9, 2024 3:27 PM

Moar....

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 32July 9, 2024 3:39 PM

R31 it makes sense that the "machine " would be looking for a replacement for the Matthew McConaughey type or the Brad Pitt type. Pitt is 60 years old. Hell, Tom Cruise is 60 isn't he? They're looking for the next generation of box office. Powell is always talking about how much he admires Matthew McConaughey. Texas roots, etc.

I feel really old. I saw Michael Douglas on Steven Colbert's show. OMG, he is so old looking. And married to that young, 30 something wife, Katherine Zeta Jones. (joke

Think of all the actors who were really good with box office and are aging out. Hugh Jackman is another. Now we have Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pine. But they're not getting it done anymore. Hemsworth can fill seats, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 33July 9, 2024 3:51 PM

Robert Downey, Jr and Denzel are old as shit.

by Anonymousreply 34July 9, 2024 3:51 PM

Hot and glad to see the evidence. He’s ambitious too- so what?

by Anonymousreply 35July 9, 2024 4:02 PM

Twisters better get good reviews or good word of mouth. Deadpool & Wolverine looks poised to cut off its legs.

by Anonymousreply 36July 9, 2024 6:07 PM

Tired of him mugging for the camera 24/7

by Anonymousreply 37July 9, 2024 6:17 PM

He gives off small dick energy.

by Anonymousreply 38July 9, 2024 7:29 PM

His resemblance to Kato Kaelin prompts me to punch + delete.

by Anonymousreply 39July 9, 2024 7:59 PM

David Corenswet (Superman) holding Glen's dog on the set of Twisters. Corenswet has a small part in the film.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 40July 9, 2024 8:29 PM

R40 I'd much rather fuck David Corenswet—he is exponentially hotter than Glen Powell.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 41July 10, 2024 1:16 AM

I read some test screening reactions from Twisters, and they mention that David Corenswet's appearance in the film is disappointing. He's hardly in it and he makes no impression. In the trailer there is a brief glimpse of his character, but he's wearing a ball cap and sunglasses. It's like he's hiding. This movie doesn't matter for him, his on-screen charisma will be judged in the 2025 Superman movie.

by Anonymousreply 42July 10, 2024 1:51 AM

There was a video of him at the latest premiere on Tik Tok and most of the comments were "why are they pushing this guy on us?" so it seems to be a common opinion.

by Anonymousreply 43July 10, 2024 2:54 AM

[quote]He’s smoking hot

Body is good but the face is a little… banjo on a bridge.

by Anonymousreply 44July 10, 2024 3:11 AM

R42: Frankly, I don't think this even matters for Powell. The trailer gives the impression that it's really Daisy Edgar Jones at the center. You just know it will be about men supporting women and that there will be a ton of girl power undertones. I guarantee you Powell's PR already has prepared statements made just in case it doesn't do well like "it's really Daisy's movie" or "there just wasn't renewed interest in the IP."

by Anonymousreply 45July 10, 2024 3:42 AM

I think Daisy Edgar Jones is bland, she is another one I don't understand why they are trying to make her happen

by Anonymousreply 46July 10, 2024 3:44 AM

R46: Twisters has Furiousa's problem: a boring, bland actress in the lead role.

by Anonymousreply 47July 10, 2024 3:45 AM

I loved him in Scream Queens - so funny

by Anonymousreply 48July 10, 2024 9:45 AM

hoo dis bitch?

by Anonymousreply 49July 10, 2024 9:49 AM

How desperate. The dog is cute.

by Anonymousreply 50July 10, 2024 10:25 AM

I don't give a single fuck about this guy one way or another, but I sure wish my abs were pitiful like that.

by Anonymousreply 51July 10, 2024 10:28 AM

Enh...

by Anonymousreply 52July 10, 2024 11:08 AM

He only looked attractive in that Top Gun sequel.

by Anonymousreply 53July 10, 2024 11:14 AM

"Anyone expecting the sly, charismatic Powell we saw in Hit Man will be sorely disappointed." Ouch.

by Anonymousreply 59July 10, 2024 11:38 PM

I, too, find it bizarre the way this guy has been foisted upon us. That said, can't deny that is very impressive deep "V" in OP's pic.

by Anonymousreply 60July 11, 2024 12:40 AM

R48 = Mother Powell.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 62July 11, 2024 2:12 PM

The people making Glen Powell happen are the haters....only reason ive heard of him its cause people like OP keep saying he's being shoved down our throats.

by Anonymousreply 63July 11, 2024 4:53 PM

It used to be cute but now it’s just sad and annoying the way he uses that dog as a prop.

by Anonymousreply 64July 12, 2024 1:27 PM

R57: The film may very well live up to the hype but I don't put too much stock into these early reviews. Chances are they were written by either interns from the studio's PR department or paid social media influencers.

by Anonymousreply 65July 12, 2024 4:47 PM

There are no more movie stars.

by Anonymousreply 66July 12, 2024 8:38 PM

Let’s face it he’s going to be sexiest man alive this year.

by Anonymousreply 67July 13, 2024 9:05 PM

The dog is adorable but seriously who brings their dog to a red carpet. This thirsty, desperate man has the emotional maturity of a 13 year old.

by Anonymousreply 68July 14, 2024 1:35 PM

Devastatingly average.

by Anonymousreply 69July 14, 2024 3:18 PM

He has rat face.

by Anonymousreply 70July 14, 2024 11:39 PM

I just saw him doing some Tik Tok dance, with sunglasses covering the beady eyes and from a distance he looked hot. But he is 35, the clock is ticking down.

by Anonymousreply 71July 15, 2024 4:34 AM

I think he wants to be like McBongo who did well in romantic comedies and then worked his way into serious roles after he lost his looks.

by Anonymousreply 72July 15, 2024 4:37 AM

Another Josh Lucas or Bill Pullman.

by Anonymousreply 73July 15, 2024 10:22 AM

Get that man a belt! Won't someone think of the children!!?

by Anonymousreply 74July 15, 2024 11:50 AM

R67 = MeeMaw Powell.

by Anonymousreply 75July 15, 2024 1:50 PM

He has said in interviews Matthew McConaughey was his idol or role model or WTF ever. A fellow Texan too. He'd love to have that kind of career. But honestly, when he is in some cameo role or a supporting role, I find him likeable. He grabs my attention. But in a leading role he sort of fizzles out. So for me, I don't think he can carry a serious movie. Rom Coms, B grade disaster movies are fine. But not much more, and IMO more Josh Lucas than Pullman. Pullman is a well regarded actor who does theater work too and as he has aged he is getting better roles. He has depth. I don't see Glenn Powell as having that much depth. Maybe I'm wrong. But I personally think he is attractive. And I like his personality on talk shows.

by Anonymousreply 76July 15, 2024 1:54 PM

R71: It seems like Twisters is copying Anyone But You’s campaign: creating an illusion that the male and female leads are romantically involved. In regards to Powell, you might be right but even still he’s had a career most actors can only dream of.

by Anonymousreply 77July 15, 2024 4:21 PM

Question: Who’s more insufferable at this point? Glen or Timothee? They both have a different shtick, but the same amount of overexposure.

by Anonymousreply 92July 17, 2024 1:33 AM

I have to admit he looks hot in the photo at R88

by Anonymousreply 93July 17, 2024 1:42 AM

Puppy love.

by Anonymousreply 94July 17, 2024 1:43 AM

R91 Superhero universes and sequels have been dominating the box office for 10+ years and we’re clearly seeing a fatigue.

And there’s no proof audiences want to see original movies.

So it looks like Hollywood is trying to reboot forgotten blockbusters that worked before.

by Anonymousreply 95July 17, 2024 3:27 AM

It’s currently estimated that through Sunday, the offshore cume will be in the $45M-$50M range, $100M+ WW.

That’s not that impressive with a $200 million budget. If it’s on par with Bad Boys 4, it could just break even.

It’s good Glen is getting these projects now cause $50 million opening isn’t that good for all the hype built around him. Still better than Austin Butler and Zendaya and the other new A-List today though so he’s ahead.

R96: I also think the marketing has been all wrong. Powell is promoting it the hardest and it’s been sold practically as some sort of romcom. In reality, Powell is at best a co-lead or supporting in it.

by Anonymousreply 98July 17, 2024 1:44 PM

[quote]Now they want him for a possible remake of BACKDRAFT

I enjoyed Backdraft. I've tried finding it a few times streaming, but the only option seems to be to buy it.

I subscribe to way too many streaming platforms to "buy" a movie I only vaguely want to watch again.

by Anonymousreply 99July 17, 2024 4:12 PM

R98 Well I think the point is this is a Glen Powell movie. I don’t think this would was made beyond that.

Hollywood is trying to make movie stars again. I’m sure Tom Cruise had a lot to do with this, that’s why he showed up to the premiere.

by Anonymousreply 100July 17, 2024 7:33 PM

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 103July 17, 2024 7:45 PM

The consensus seems to be that the visuals are spectacular but that’s about it. The plot is boring and Powell plays his usual arrogant self. Box office prognosticators like to be conservative and they’re wrong all the time. I don’t trust polling. I think this is really going to have to depend on word of mouth. It really won’t have much room to grow considering Deadpool & Wolverine comes out next week.

by Anonymousreply 104July 17, 2024 7:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 110July 18, 2024 2:18 PM

He was just on MSNBC promoting "Twisters," and he looked awful. He was painfully thin. What the hell's going on with him?

by Anonymousreply 111July 18, 2024 2:20 PM

R111 It must be for a movie role. But yeah he looks skinny and the longer hair is a no.

Much sexier when he’s beefier with short hair.

by Anonymousreply 112July 18, 2024 2:21 PM

Nobody heard of this guy five minutes ago and now he's the new IT boy. I hate it when Hollywood does that.

This is true of so many celebrities. JLo is another good example.

by Anonymousreply 120July 18, 2024 10:25 PM

Early word of mouth has been positive so far so I think there's a chance Twisters could over-perform. Also, there's really no opposition other than D&W for the rest of summer so it should do well going into August.

by Anonymousreply 121July 19, 2024 12:18 AM

by Anonymousreply 131July 19, 2024 11:47 AM

R113 Well he had a breakthrough with “Top Gun” in 2022 and had a hit movie “Anyone But You” last year.

He is being pushed into being an A-Lister but if “Twisters” is an actual hit, he’s not going to be going anywhere.

by Anonymousreply 132July 19, 2024 3:56 PM

This talks about the new A-Listers.

I still don’t know how Zendaya comes into play seeing as “Challengers” was a dud at the box office with her $10 million salary whereas Glen Powell was able to actually open up a hit movie with “Anyone But You”.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 133July 19, 2024 4:01 PM

I just got back from a showing. I’d say there were no more than 15 people in the theater. The bottom line is wait until it’s on streaming. Good God is it boring. A thin plot stretched over two hours and the acting is wooden. In regards to whether it will be a hit or not, I think it will depend on how well it does overseas and how much of a force Deadpool & Wolverine will be next week.

by Anonymousreply 134July 19, 2024 5:01 PM

R134 Yeah but everything you said + the way they’re marketing it, it could be a hit because they’re leaning on the “Murica” crowd.

by Anonymousreply 135July 19, 2024 5:04 PM

The plot was really confusing and the three leads weren’t very engaging or dynamic.

by Anonymousreply 139July 19, 2024 7:08 PM

Instead of the previous prediction of a 40 0r 50 million dollar domestic opening weekend:

[quote]‘Twisters’ Whirling To Great $72M Opening

[quote] 72 million at 4,151 theaters after a massive $31M first day including previews. By the way, that’s 76% above the start of the first 1996 movie ($41M, adjusted for inflation). This a great palette cleanser before Deadpool & Wolverine conquers the world next weekend.

by Anonymousreply 140July 19, 2024 10:20 PM

For a film so heavily promoted as a Glen Powell vehicle, the movie really doesn’t give him much to do. Don’t even get me started on Daisy’s atrocious Oklahoma accent.

by Anonymousreply 141July 19, 2024 10:39 PM

Now it’s up to $72 million.

by Anonymousreply 142July 20, 2024 3:15 AM

I think it'll land in the $300-450 million range where people argue whether it was a hit or flop.

I will say there were no more than 15 people in my local AMC theater. Nobody laughed or clapped during the movie.

Regardless of how you feel about Glen Powell, you can't deny that the big push to make him the next big thing is so manufactured. The only actor who has a more punchable face than him is Daisy Edgar Jones.

Now close to 75 million opening weekend.

[quote] ‘Twisters’ A Force Of Nature With Near $75M Opening, Friday Not Far From ‘Oppenheimer’ .... In terms of Twisters heading to $80M, we’ll see how that goes down tonight, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

What about Glen Powell?

[quote] Let’s not forget the newfound star power of Powell. He began dropping into theaters with Sydney Sweeney to spike the ticket sales of Anyone But You back December-January, and that’s not only paying in dividends here to Universal with Twisters, but he’s still working it this weekend to stoke the pic’s potential fanbase.

[quote] Per PostTrak last night, 24% went to Twisters because of Powell.

R144: Again I think it will land anywhere in the $300-500 million range where people argue forever about whether it was a hit or flop. Will Twisters still be available on IMAX and PLF next week with Deadpool & Wolverine?

[quote]Instead of the previous prediction of a 40 0r 50 million dollar domestic opening weekend:

Now $80.5 million, 60% ahead of the $50M+ that tracking was spotting.

There are tons of Tik Tok videos of the scene of Glenn Powell in a white tank top with a cowboy hat and people drooling over him with the theme song playing. These are paid shills. They are pushing this guy hard.
